So Richard can pwn Obi-wan Kenobi. laugh.gif Wait a minute. Does that mean that Richard is really Darth Vader? blink.gif It would be hilarious to see him go after Yoda next.

Also, I wonder what Krunch's deal is with sailing. Does he not know how to swim? This is gonna be good.
Yakumo
Hmmmm. I was more interested in the side characters.

Did anyone else think of the Deevils from the Myth series by Robert Aspiron (sp?)?
Boristus
Is it just me or does Tyne Resemble Menthil Harbor?

Also, Richard will always win against Obi-wan.
Marcus
heh heh, thats some good smokin ghost. hehe krunch gets sea sick... this is gonna be bad....
Verbose
Truly, Richard is full of clear and insightful observations about the virtues of those fallen by the wayside.

Okay, so they were pushed. Not that you could prove it in a court of law.

...without a lot of bloodshed.
Alex Encandar
Hmm...pretty sure that first line is a direct quote from act 2 cienematic from diablo 2, meh still a great comic biggrin.gif
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Wise and persistent.

It made me giggle. I do wonder about Krunch's seasickness. And Benny's sarcasm always amooooses me.
Hunter
Well I think I have a new favorite parody of Starwars, But I wonder what this mysterious vessel is though.

it's a direct quote from Star Wars Episode 4 (I just have watched it 5 days ago)
and Richard is really in great shape again ^^
Mac Chick
The best parody of Star Wars that I've seen for a very long time. laugh.gif
Raganui
I think Richard pushed him just to see the look on... (Luke)'s face and because he's just like that. And the destroying of the ghost... well how better to traumatize the kid than destroy the guy right as he's doing the whole always be with you in some form or another speech? And when Richard kills someone, he makes sure they stay dead and don't come back.
Higgen
Poor Obi-Wan. =/

So does this mean that Cale is now going to hire the Millenium Falcon?

The last line of Obi-Wan's should have been, "I will be with you, alway-" ("The Force will be with you, always.")

Hilariously done, as always.

Paragraphs are for nerds.
TealKick
Richard will probably buy the kid's speeder then kill him and get his money back.
S_CG_Phoenix
Hehe, this one made me chuckle.

/keep up the good work guys biggrin.gif
lunytoon deal with it
we got richard puching people off cliffs and inserateing there ghost, Benny being more sarcastic, Kruch sea sick, and cale haveing no idea whats going on around him
Kerrah
Anyone else sense a fifth main character coming? A witty thief would be awesome.
Teleros
And with that simple act, Richard ensured the survival of the Galactic Empire laugh.gif . Three cheers for our favourite anti-hero I say biggrin.gif .

Richard has enough wit to equip a small army - don't need any more tongue.gif .
Lunaya
Do we actually know that Krunch gets sea sick? The way Benny phrased it, I guessed that Krunch is afraid of water or something. Besides, people who get sea sick usually get air sick too and Krunch indirectly mentioned that he would prefer a zeppelin ride.

And another thing, I'm starting to think that Cale, Krunch and Benny should really think twice about letting Richard wander off by himself. Next thing they know, there's going to be an angry mob after all of them. tongue.gif

Angry Mob: RAAR!

Benny: What did you do?

Richard: I simply informed them that American Idol is rigged.
Demonor
not enougher WoW refernce: "no zeppelins or griffins will take us were we need to go"

and it now seems that richard knows lighting magic... wha't cant he do?

Thank you for noticing smile.gif I just reread a few of those books last month so they're kind of fresh to me.

Later!

And he put the bead seller in there for me! I love you, Lar! wub.gif
Klanker21
I feel like Krunch is either afraid of the water or gets sick sea even though he would rather fly. The books i have read it usually seems like there is a large character who can't handle ships and voyages and such. Also if we still need a fifth character i of course pick a pirate.
cypher
i dont think we need a 5th

but if we must then my vote goes to gir from invder zim

richared: i wonder if i can drain the soul of a robot

gir: yay my soul is gone
Hunter
Krunch could just prefer the smoother ride of a flying vehicle or that he just wants to get to the location directly and not have to deal with going around islands or going through another port on the other side.
Sweetrobin
I love Cale's expression in this. it's like he's never seen a big city like this before! he is such a country bumpkin XD
Hunter
I was figuring that he has never seen the Ocean before.
Boristus
I also think we are going to be seeing a new character.

What DPS class's can Orcs be again?

And Im looking forward to seeing Krunch seasick. I know, Im twisted.
vexx
I was going to point out the Aspirin references (along with a nod to Phil Foglio) but I see I was late.... good stuff.

Lovely stuff you've got going here (and it looks like you aren't going to make the tactical error that wtfcomic did by overly basing things off of any particular MMO).
Hunter
I think it is only going to be a side character for a few pages then is going to bugger off.
Jimmy
Note facial expression on "Luke" in third panel. Where....where is Richard's other hand? blink.gif

I'm waiting on this one. Sea sickness could be the least problem. If he can't swim, oh say, because he has enough weight to take out a dragon by dropping on it, then sea sickness just adds insult to more dire dilemnas.

And thank you both Lars and Starsong. First to Lars for including them that way. Nice homage and I appreciated it. I wait to see if it's just a side thing or they're type becomes more involved. But thanks to both of you for saying something- thought I was reading too much into it and that I was the only one.

However, Starsong- curse you! Now I'm going to have to skim through the first book and find the bead seller. At some point.

Oh yeah, just an FYI if you weren't aware. There is at least one graphic novel style of Myth based on the first book, different ending though. You obviously made these your own Lars, but incase you were interested in how someone else did them.

I enjoy the Aspirin work enough that I'd be happy to see what someone else has done. Of course, I'm familiar with the Freas art and the Foglio art. I know Foglio worked on the comic magazine interepretation from WaRP (I can't recall who took over from him though I know they were sorta constrained to ape his work instead of following their own). Please send me the link smile.gif

BTW, don't kill yourself looking for the bead seller in the book. My wife loves beading is all, so if a Deveel has to sell something - why not beads?

Later smile.gif
Yakumo
Hmmm, a quick google search makes it look like I'm thinking of a compilation of the Foglio work, but that's supposed to be either in two parts and/or a hardback, and I remember a single soft cover (though larger than the "standard" trade back size today). *shrug*, probably his.

HOWEVER, part of my halfass search turned up a reference in Wikipedia to a comic series based on the SECOND novel. Here's the exact info:

" The second novel was later adapted into another eight-part comic series by Ken and Beth Mitchroney and published by Apple from 1987 through 1989. Neither of these two later series enjoyed a graphic novel collection."

Both of the names of the couple have links. Direct link is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MythAdventure...ustrated_novels

It's wiki, so take it for what's worth. I never knew of one based on the second book. Also some mention of a 4 issue run that bridges the story between the first and second books, by Aspiron and Valentino.

If I ever find out that I saw different work than Foglio, I'll let you know. It was actually a friend's copy, so I only read it through the one time. It was what I read first and what got me into the novel series.

didn't anyone notice that the beam that killed the guys ghost was from Darkside from Superman? guess it was just me...
Hunter
I noticed it but I wasn't sure it if was the Omega beam (?) or not.

Hee hee hee smile.gif The script actually called for a "magic missile" kind of attack but the arrow look I was playing for wasn't working. So I thought of using spheres and then I thought of the contrails they might generate and then I thought of Darkseid. So what the hell, eh? smile.gif I like trying out new sfx.

Later!
Hunter
When I thought you couldn't be any more awesome, you pull out a DC villain power for Richard. I can't think of a real word to say right now from being very tired but you are a froody guy.
vexx
I own the two Starblaze Graphics collected series of the Foglio rendition of the Mythadventure series (covers the first couple of books in their own Foglio-demented way). They're excellent comic work and a good pre-cursor for anyone who later reads the Buck Godot collection of stories and comics. All these items are hard to find (Even Phil can't find a couple of issues of his own work so his website store often says "Can't find the F***ing things!!!!" or the moral equivalent.

I will say I think that one can put LFG up against Foglio and come off quite nicely... ya'll make Da Phunny very well, even when there's mayhem and tragedy mixed in... and the art is quite brilliant.

Even though i think Richard is definatly modeled after the WoW warlock since this is more of a general fantasty spoof i think Richard represents the Every wizard of the RPG community.. I mean so far he's got the summoning skills of a magician the I rip your skeleton out of the average necromance. The freezing dragons in a single Fwoosh of wizards. and the apparently now cool lightning like magic missiles. And of coarse what would any magic Mayor be without fire.

I also think the other characters are representing general roles like when benny blocked the arrows it reminded my of pnumonia from Ragnarok Online.
iloverichard
SWEET comic i love what Richard does to "Obi Wan" laugh.gif

and i never did see Richard riding his pony.... did he even ride one there?
