New favorite Richard quote.

Yay!

And I do have to say, I think Richard noticing Cale's "Willingness to Kill" is going to be key in the upcoming strips.
Son of Unicron
Hah.. i do so love richard.
Son of Unicron
hah, dang, beaten by seconds... ah well. we can keep this one XD

great comic, answers the 'was he gone for an instant or gone for days' question at least.
Memnarch
That it does... I just got back on, im like, yay, I can post something new! .... damn... lol....

FOR PONY!
Lunaya
Yay Rae! You finally got to start one.

Poor Cale. He's not happy. I hope he doesn't turn all dark now. sad.gif And, as usual Richard doesn't disappoint. I'm just wondering if Cale's new 'tude is going to start creeping him out. It'd be fun to see Richard trying to cheer him up.

It's so cute to me when Benny heals Richard. It kinda reminds me of a hassled mom taking care of her accident-prone 5 year old. What I don't get is why this time Richard has a surprised look on his face in while she's taking care of him.
Triforceelf
Personally, I always scream "remember the chocolate bar!" before fighting.
My Good Rabbit
Poor Cale, he tries so hard. XD
Lunaya
Mine is, "Save the Sea Turtles!!". I wub.gif turtles.
Starsong
Is that not the most epic/hot frame of Benny ever??!!

I'm so proud! *squee*

As for my battle cry... I just tend to stare menacingly at people until they back off. Apparently, I'm quite intimidating, but I still have no idea why. It could be because I'm AZN...
Triforceelf
DEATH TO HIPPIES!

Er, I mean...

I love flowers!
Marcus
FOR PONY!!! hahaha i like ponies too... hehehe *giggles like a school girl* ok ok ok. my thingy ma bobber battle cry thingy. yea... id have to go with...

TSBasilisk
Since when did somebody like Richard like...ponies? It's like finding out that Satan has a soft spot for kittens, IT JUST DOESN'T WORK!
Umedrion
"For Pony" would make a great t-shirt idea.
GoodGod
Aaaand these are the descendants of Gamlon, not the Vulii. Mistaken identity hijinks will ensue (just wanted to be the first one to call it, though I may be wrong).

At least Richard's lack of knowledge of the Vulii shows us he isn't Tavor.
Sleepy
I preffer for a battle cry random televised or radio broadcast heck any kind of advertiseing. It terrifies people!

ACT NOW! YOU TOO CAN BE EVISCERATED FOR ONLY $9.99 Thats not all folks we also offer the family pack for an additional $4 your family can be incinerated with an authentic napalm bomb!

Generally if you say it in that overly cheerful way too friendly voice they start running >_>
Katharos
Nope not Tavor, they are both separate beings.

...and the first one to bring up the amnesia theory will get a fireball on their moose knuckle.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
The too cheerful voice, or the over-friendly smile, like this:

Wait a minute... can someone edit that and put some green scars on the eye? I wanna see something...
Cybercat
I agree, these are the descendants of Gamlon, those that escaped during the king's last stand.
Raya
Wow, Cale has started plucking his eyebrows. First they were huge blonde things, now they've vanished into lines. Guess the trauma of Gamlon has made them fall out tongue.gif

Angsty Cale is love <3
lunytoon deal with it
for pony XD
Felixaar
I agree, Destroy the School!

I got lost for a moment there. Awesome new page.
lunytoon deal with it
well.... then why are they trying to kill them? couse its fun?
lunytoon deal with it
i could if i wasn't on my lap top
Teleros
Looks like the WWRD guild has found its battlecry laugh.gif .

As for Cale, well he's always been prepared to kill if it was in a good cause - look at him trying to bump off Richard in the first strip or two wink.gif .
Son of Unicron
what? no ones said it?

....

SPOON!!
Ghislord
You guys noticec that those elven bandits are wearing Gamlon helmets? I'm pretty sure they're decendants of the wetland exiles. Any minute now Cale will notice and attempt to stop the slaughter.

Yep... aaaaaaaaaany time now

wink.gif

OH! and Merged the 2 topics so there might be a bit of confoosion with the conversationness tongue.gif
S_CG_Phoenix
I vote for a little more dark and brooding Cale, but not much. I like his naivety.

Plus some fan service would be nice...

/*cough* HINT *cough* wink.gif
Lunaya
It doesn't look to me like the bandits are wearing helmets at all. One guy does have kind of silver-colored hair, but it's shaped differently from the Gamlon helmet. Still, these guys could be descendants of Gamlon. Poor Cale. I'm sure the last thing he needs right now is another Homer Simpson moment. "DOH!"
ZiN
I got to say the 4th panel in this strip is really what stood out for me, sure it was funny but the artist in me was more drawn to that panel. Awesome work as always Lar, you did pony well! laugh.gif
Zrem
I have to agree, Benny does look hot in that 5th panel...

As for battle cries, you all know mine already.
If you don't, you are blind.
Heh, I got so known for my first battle cry that on WoW we named our arena team that.

Anywho, it COULD be a messed up dinged kinda helmet.....maybe...

And yes, I'll officially call the Tavor=Richard idea dead.
Cause I can.

Edit: And congrats Rae. All you're dreams have come true.
TankHunter
Well, personally I found "FOR PONY!" kinda........ LAME. BAD RICHARD YOU WERE LAME!!!!!!

"No Idea what he is talking about, but I respect his attitude and willingness to kill." was not very good from richard either. I would say these two quotes are the worst Richard have.

I do have to say that Cale looks pissed off and ready to slaughter Vulii, he is not so naieve and innocent now, more full of vengence and rage mamking him at the moment a tad bit cooler the Richard. At least until next comic where Richard is probably going to have a steller comment and will rip out the skeletons of the bandits.
Dynamus
From out of nowhere, I strike with my ability to notice tiny details!

I think that the bandits are Vulii elves, I noticed that the Gamlon elves have a light skin colour, while the Vulii have a darker, slightly redder skin colour. The bandits have the same skin colour of the Vulii, so they are most likely descended from the Vulii.

Going by this logic, Cale's light skin colour must mean that he's descended from the Gamlon elves (but you knew that already, right?)

Hi btw wink.gif
desyphur

There, just kinda doodled it
Duffren
Page 42!

Anyway, it seems the group has been attacked by Vuill Elves. Now, if I were an evil Empire, and Im not (yet), I wouldnt want my troops referred to as 'bandits'. It seems the Vulii met their end somewhere along the line, possibly to Kethenecia.

OR! Being removed from the Tree Shrines makes Elf skin turn a reddish color, which would make these guys the descendants of the Gamlon refugees. The irony of Cale killing the people hes trying to avenge would be awesome, so Im going to go with this one.

It does when you take into account the fact that, for Richard, a 'pony' is a skeletal, flaming hellhorse that devours the souls of the living.
Lunaya
Something tells me that Cale's anger and desire for vengeance on the Vulii is going to be very significant once we get to the "Really Angry Sword". I think someone theorized before that Cale might try to wield the Sword but will instead be corrupted by it. From what I've seen, I'll have to agree with that notion.
iloverichard
LOVE the new comic lol!!!

Orc, troll, doesn't matter. Benny is my dream-babe.
iloverichard
OK that was really random >.<
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Well, I guess this latest strip was inspirational, then.

These haven't been confirmed as Vulii or Gamlon, since the group doesn't know where they came from. However, since the Vulii defeated Gamlon, Cale probably assumes that they're the descendants of the Vulii, and fighting for the memory of Gamlon.
Demonor
wouldn't the war cry be better of as "FOR THE PONNIES"....
"FOR PONY" begs the question which pony? tongue.gif
Lunaya
By the way, does anyone else find it hilarious that in Panel 1, Krunch sees Benny healing Richard and isn't even the least bit curious? How could Richard possibly hurt himself just hanging around in a castle? It makes me wonder just how many times Richard has been damaged in the past month that Krunch can walk in on him being healed and not even want to know why. rolleyes.gif
Demonor
well they do have to find some use for gid's healing powers, its not like crunch or cale can take a big stinking hole through their chest wink.gif

He didn't get hurt just meandering around the castle. At the end of the last page, when Cale returned to the present, Richard was right in front of the portal and was stabbed by cale trying to charge the Vulii.
Lunaya
I know that Rae. But Krunch doesn't. I thought it was funny that Krunch didn't inquire as to how Richard managed to get hurt. It tells me that this must happen a lot.

Meh, there was a little logic going on here. First, every time Cale tries to do the righteous thing, he screws up. Second, while this time could be different, the Vulii have their own empire, so I'm willing to bet that outlaw elves are Vuliian enemies, most likely Gamlonians.
Lizard Lord
Even if these elven bandits are the descendents of the Gamlon exiles through blood they have murdered Gamlon's ideals. (They ARE bandits after all.) Since these are elven bandits they Vulli in mind set if not through actual heritage. At least I would think that is how Cale would see it.

I would say that in all likelihood the Vulli tracked down the exiles and the exiles either joined the Vulli (for fear of their lives) or they were killed off.

OR they could be upholding Gamlon's ideals by protecting the castle. That is noble enough for Gamlonians (Gamlonites??) isn't it? Bandits, in general, don't go around attacking groups of four in ever increasing numbers (especially if those four have shown themselves to be adept at repelling those attacks) unless there is a very good reason. The party is not obviously rich, so I would guess the 'bandits'are protecting the castle, and the memories it holds and the ideals it represents. That makes them faithful to Gamlon and its ideals.

That being said, I think 'for Pony' is brilliant. It shows how much Richard deeply, deeply enjoys mocking everything Cale does. He never passes up an opportunity to make a mockery of Cale... and I can respect that.
