Just thought this might be an interesting turn and wanted to see what people thought about this. Cale just retrieved the Sword of Truth from Travor and broght it back to the future, which would explain why no one else has ever retrieved the sword over time or Aelloon had to get someone else to get the sword for him becuase he knew he was 2 evil to travel back intime and gain peoples trusts. Discuss.

I don't think that either of Tavor's Swords are the SoT, unless it is my idea of their needing to be forged together, I'm thinking they are going to head to the catacombs or to the Wetlands next before they get to the city and then the sword.

I doubt Sohmer would make it that easy for them. Finding the Sword of Truth this early would force Sohmer to come up with a new plotline, and let's face it, regardless of how talented you are making a new plotline when you already have a solid one with plenty of room for expansion is not only a pain in the ass but a waste of an idea. Knowing how intelligent Sohmer is, these swords Cale brought with him are not the Sword of Truth, because that would be too easy.
Even if one or both is/are, we're not gonna know for a good while.

Wouldn't it be interesting if it was gradual use that made the user angry instead of just right away. So as they quest on Cale slowly become angrier and less likes his Lawful-good self. The key of this would be Cale laughing at one of Richard jokes and then the group would know whats going on. Well that is my second crazy idea of the week.

I think the turning angry over time is a good idea, and so is needing to forge them together. But i do not think he made it easy for them right away. I think it might be a while for all of them to realize that it is the SoT. I could see a Richard punchline from here "that explains the odd sensation i felt when i was stabbed by him... guess that pain exists and isnt somthing everyone else is making up. I am a terrible person." Next square slaughters children and laughs.

i think it would be an interesting turn of one/both swords where SoT, but then what would happen to the comic?? it only just started...........it could go on for years......and decades..........anyway, what if they had to do both? forge them together and then carry them for a while, get a bit angry, and then...........exchange them for the actual SoT? that would work. major quest, and sub-quest stuff
iloverichard
May 9 2007, 02:06 AM
true, forging them togther could be some sort of clue to where the actual SoT is, and not just a plain flat out map that tells you to take a step and there you have it. i don't really think, though, that Tavor's swords were actually very important. besides the fact that they were a gift to Cale to help him defend himself and Leena.
i dunno,it could happen at any moment....

Actually, I'm kind of wondering why Tavor would tell Cale to use his swords. Cale has swords of his own, doesn't he?

It's an honor thing. This way, Tavor's blades are still being put to the defense of the good.

Remember that the king had asked him to bathe his blades in the blood of his enemies. By taking his swords, Cale is continuing his task.

These swords probably have quite a bit of significance, since Cale took them through the portal, but I honestly doubt that, with the potential of this plot along with Sohmer's creativity, that it would be so simple. They're probably sending them on some gi-normous scavenger hunt that could last for dozens of strips. Or it could lead them on a wild goose chase, putting them back at square one.
Either way, I think Richard's going to need a lot of buckets for all of the confusion they're in for.

Perhaps, as Tavor's blades take on the blood of his enemies, it gains the infernal aura of vengeance, instilling within the steel a lust for further chaos. Such longings for destruction proceed to take over Cale's innocence, corrupting him for its own purpose.
Eh, impossible but fun.

i still think "they" aren't the sword(s?) of truth becdause that would be just too plain easy. they'v still got a ways to go. we don't want to comic to be over already, do we???

Eh Humans are still that way.. Cops commonly take the guns of a partner who has fallen on the job along with military men. Even in alot of gangs if a gang member dies his best friend usually uses and keeps his guns. Just cuase we don't use swords anymore doesn't mean the idea is dead... Granted I think guns were a bad idea. I mean a piece of metal pushed at high speeds to pierce a person... Often at long distance with low chance of failure... What were we thinking when we turned gunpowder from fireworks to killing machines.

Possibly that, "Hey I just killed a guy across the room... cool... now, lets get the princess back from our neighbors, and Hey! why not take their land too?" it all escalates, great, how the world works, aint it?
And I dont think it is the SoT, that would be way to simple...

certainly Cale has his own swords.. but they are normal everyday "grey item" swords
Tavor's might be imbued with magic... (+angry?) and thus a valuable item

eh..... i dont think we are even close to the sword yet.
would be funny if the guy they were going after already found it cause then they would have to go on another quest to find something better. thus dragging on another story giving us all plenty more to read.

Ok why would Tavor have the Sword Of Truth. If he was just the second in command wouldnt the King have them?

Neither is the sword of truth, merely enchanted swords that show a map when covered in blood.
