(I am new to these forums, and I assure you this isn't some sort of spambot or anything like that. I've been a member of the LICD forums for a little while, and I thought what better place to post an ad for a new MMO than on the forum for a webcomic about MMO's. Really, I've been playing MMO's for over 8 years now... I've played almost every one. I have to say that so far, this is one of the best looking FREE ones there is. It's worth a look if you're sick of raiding in WoW. =P)

A few days ago I was shown this new(?) MMORPG called Lost Chaos because I was telling people how much I loved Corum because it reminded me of Diablo II. Boy, does Corum suck compared to LC.
-The graphics are incomparable to any free MMO. I don't know where they got their engine, but it reminds me a lot of a combo between World of Warcraft and Guild Wars- both high quality games. The screenshots on the LC website aren't taken at full graphics capabilities. I use my nVidia drivers to force higher AntiAliasing and Anisotropic Filtering... so it looks really pretty.
-The character creation is very similar to Guild Wars/Diablo II as well. 6 characters, not too much customization (at least yet) but it's also fairly new. The classes are Knight(M), Healer(F), Mage(F), Titan(M), Rogue(F), and Sorcerer(M). Each class eventually branches off into two specific classes. For example, Rogue can be Assassin or Hunter, Healer is Cleric or Archer, etc.
-From what I've experienced and heard, it's a lot like Diablo II in the sense that at least for a while, the soloing ability of just about every class (Even Healers!) isn't bad at all. Of course, groups are always beneficial, they're not necessary.
-The skill system, which I am still in the process of fully understanding, is the best I've seen. You get Exp and Skill Exp from monsters. Every 10,000 Skill exp, you get 1 skill point. (Monsters your level give around 1200-1500 skill points each- at least so far.) Skill points are used to upgrade skills, or get more skills. To my knowledge, there is no "You put points into a crappy skill, restart your character." It'd take forever, but I believe it is possible, theoretically, to get every skill to max.
-There are two different pets in the game. A Pony and a Drake. As they level up, they mature, and eventually become mounts. A Horse obviously being a land mount, where Dragons are flying mounts.
-"Personal Dungeons" are basically the equivalent of instances. I only have one quest that I get my butt handed to me on in a Personal Dungeon, but there are some skills that can only be used in a PD. I'm not a high enough level to fully understand this whole thing.
-I have yet to dabble in the crafting/upgrading system yet... but it's there.
In the end, it's free, though its system requirements are a bit higher than most free games. If you have the specs for it, I'd suggest giving it a shot.
If you do decide to play, let me know. MSN me at Dyskresiac@hotmail.com =P
