If you had to list your favorite games that you've played in your life, what would they be?

I'm not talking those games you thought were really awesome at some point, but lost that wow factor over time. I mean the games you can still go back and play and have a great time doing it?

My favorites include:

X-com: UFO Defense. Great base management, good tactic combat, and I could rename all my guys for people I knew. (Zomg! They killed Steve! You bastards!)

Laser Squad Nemesis. Tactical combat online vs. 1 live opponent. Made by the X-com guys, I've been playing it for almost 4 years.

Starcraft - Broodwars. They got the balance perfect for this RTS.

Final Fantasy Tactics. The ultimate level up your guy game.

Mech Commander 2. RTS but with mechs! Great action and control. I've beaten it numerous times with various combo's and load outs. Very Replayable.

There's probably some more I'm forgeting, but I'm out work right now, so this is good from memory.

Oh crap you reminded me i forgot to say Ceaser 3.
Andrea C.
There are only two videogames that keep me going back to them:

Baldur's Gate (plus expansion) and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (plus expansion).

Nevertheless, these are games I really (and I mean really) enjoyed a whole lot:

- Planescape: Torment
- Starcraft: Brood Wars
- Warcraft III (plus expansion)
- Max Payne
- Max Payne II

Plus the old classics: DooM, Wolfenstein 3D, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat I & II...

As for board games:
- Dungeons & Dragons
- Talisman
- Munchkin

I'm simple.

Any GTA and Fable.

More recent favorites:
Warcraft III
Command and Conquer Generals
Unreal
Age of Mythology
Rae-Rae =^.^=
RISK! I never get bored of people trying to take over my continents...
Hunter
lol I always go for south america and africa first, easiest to defend while having good reinforcements, unlike that damned australia that only gives you two.

Same here, I've always been pretty decent with South America and Africa. I had someone bring all of their troop-thingies and surround my 2 in Madagascar, and one was left over before I finally lost it.

In retrospect, it was the closest thing I'll ever get to my own 300 moment.

Stracraft: Brood Wars shall always, always have a place in my heart.
I spent years on Battle.net, playing all those ever so many map settings. The possiblities were endless and amazing.
With Warcraft 3, my expectations where high that something even further better would happen.
I met with disappointment and crushing defeat. DoTa controls Battle.net.
but right back to my list.

-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Chrono Trigger
To this day, I could play those games, knowing every step and every word in it, and still love it.
Hell, I can tell you the three mistakes that are on CT's cover still.
Marle, and ice magic user, casting fire
Fighting a cave boss outside in winter
Fighting said boss with Frog

Back to list
-Super Smash Brothers (N64 and Melee)
-Guitar Hero 1 and 2
-007: GoldenEye for N64 (The multiplayer on this just destroyed my perception of reality)
-Final Fantasy 7 (Best FF ever)
-Final Fantasy 3/6 (Second best)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 The Arcade Game
-Contra
McWicked
Bookworm.

I wish I was kidding. rolleyes.gif

I realize that I hadn't specified computer games, so that opens it up to table top and/or board games and cards.

Axis & Allies! Fuck yeah! I've played that since I was 10. Of course that meant I played all 5 sides by myself. laugh.gif You have no idea how hard it is to convince your 13-16yr old friends to sit down and play a board game that takes 8 hours to play.

I love it, best strategy game EVER! I have 5/6 of the versions. Original, Pacific, Europe, Revised, D-day. A new one, Battle of the Bulge came out over X-mas, but I have yet to get it.

I only play it 2-3 times a year, but it's still fun.

Settlers of Catan
. Awesome. You'll have people playing this game that would otherwise never play games. A good hook for 1st timers.

Scrabble. The whole family plays. Making up words is fun.

Euchre.
It seems to be a Mid West game, as other people back in college NOT from the Mid West would always rely..."What now?"
dumbclown
If there is someone to play against. NFL Blitz 2001. Hands down the best game to play against someone else.
On my own. Super Mario Bros 3.
Andrea C.
It really comes as a surprise that Planescape: Torment isn't a favorite on a board dedicated to people who, most likely, are RPG players blink.gif
