Really? Tavor just had the additude and look that seemed a bit evil, not like the Tavor from the past few comics. It just is in my nature to question that, could he be a traitor? One of the Vulii? Just insulted by Cale's declaration? Caught in the moment and just angry?

I think that he just pushes his feelings away so he can function without going into a blood rage and end up dying when he should be protecting the girl.

Well, it's just even though after 5 days of war, he still was a nice, kind-hearted elf when he was talkin with cale, then all of a sudden changes drastically in character.
I just got that hunch. I can see him having dedication towards protecting the kid, but ya never know.

His king had just died, that would make me pretty bitter.

Maybe Tavor is like the character from Equilibrium where when he fights he checks his emotions to get the job done.

He's angry, he's upset and at this point, he doesn't really care if it shows.

He just lost his leader (and likly one of the best people he knew), more then one of his friends, and his cause and the cause his friends died for now seems hopeless.
It is not a sign that he is currently "evil," (though this could be the first step down that road). Either something has changed inside of him, or it is just a moment of doubt.

First step towards the road to evil. Hmm, that could support the whole "Tavor becomes Richard" argument...

And I have to wonder...if Tavor actually
isn't Richard, would Sohmer tell us so? I haven't seen a post from him yet saying anything like, "Lol! You guys are nuts." I think that a lack of denial just might equal a confirmation.
...Or maybe the almighty beings of Sohmer and Lar just like to mess with our heads.

For one, Sohmer likes to keep people guessing. Second, he enjoys knowing that people are wondering what he's gonna come up next and, lastly, you actually expect him to reply? It's much more fun to watch you guys (and gals) running around like headless chicken trying desperately to read into the mind and imagination of that demented man.
Oh, the joys of it.

I think Tavor is just a bit upset. with all the dieing and hopeless situation stuff that seems to be spinning around him. though i did think it did look very dark... maybe we are just reading into things too much. he's just upset... yea

His king's dying words were to entrust Tavor with the safety of his daughter and, more than that, the vengeance of Gamlon. Based on the king's wording, Tavor's final mission is to go to Kethenica and make them pay for allowing the Vulii to do as they pleased. This might be why Kethenica is an abandoned city now, and perhaps Tavor was the one whose anger created the Sword of Truth...

I think that tavor is simply frustrated, his king has died, the cause he fought for is lost, and his new friend seems to be one of the ones who wants to die according to his point of view. So it is easy to understand why he is cynnical. Interesting to say the least, I had hoped for a strong holding only for some powerful summoned enemy to show up.

It looks to me like Tavor is really struggling to control his emotions. The battle is now obviously lost, the city is going to be overrun and his king has gone to make a noble sacrifice. The one thing he has left is the king's order to protect Leena. You can actually hear the bitterness in his voice when he replies to Cale.
Beautifully done expression. One of my favourite pages I think!

I think the writer thought of that line while he was making the comic and just couldn't resist using it. I mean, its sarcastic and callous, but it's a real long shot from evil.

I personally it was a funny way to end the kings dramatic death at the end of the comic, you guys think too much. He is shaken by his kings death and its pretty obvious by is sweat and wide open eyes.
(P.S. Stop thinking so much

Oh my! I've been away from the forums for a little while, completely missed this Tavor = Richard stuff! Definitely an interesting theory . . . me like. But yeah, Tavor becoming angry and bitter about all this would certainly make sense in leading him to take up demonic/dark/necro/whatever magics. Hmmmmm. Interesting. Anyhow, in response to the threads main question, nah, I doubt it's any hint that he's secretly evil. Becoming evil, possibly. But I don't think he is currently.

That and hes a busy man. 2 webcomics, job, social life (maybe?), and all sorts.
I doubt he'll come down into the forums to give me a smack upside the head, saying "Bad Zrem. Stop filling these people's heads with insane ideas. Thats my job."
Back to topic, maybe Tavor had gas?
But I still have to stick with his whole life falling apart right now.

well, Tavor did sorta have a dark look on him when he said "you want to be impaled by a halberd" blah blah blah because he saw that the king was impaled by a halberd, so yes i'm sure Tavor is mad. but neither can he do anything about it. sadly enough.

Cale had no problems killing Trolls either.
Remember. He has no qualm in killing, as long as its for the right reasons. What he deems in his mind as "fighting for the side of good"

Which is why he was having a nervous breakdown after killing all of Aeloon's troops trying to save Benny. He thought benny was the "good guy" and Aeloon and his goons were the "bad guys". It's all about who's associated with who for Cale.

Yeah. I have to agree that Tavor probably isn't Richard. But I do have a feeling that Tavor is going to be playing an especially important role in the story fairly soon. I mean, to me he's showing a lot of depth for a character who's only going to be around for a couple of pages.
