Spyder- Been hearing about that bad nor'easter...How is everyone? I must admit, blizzards scare me. Funny that, Hurricanes don't, but blizzards do... Hope everyone is doing alright.

edit- and tornados...after Hurricane Charley, I was afraid of any strong winds for awhile. Not because of the 'cane mind you, but because of the tornados that came with it. My in-laws home was destroyed by one of the little tornados out in Ona.

Bah, blizzards aren't anything to be too worried about as long as you live in an area that's used to them. When I grew up in Maryland, we didn't get much snow, and so when we did everyone assumed that the sky was falling and we were all gonna die. The grocery stores would run out of TP, bread, milk, all that kinda stuff. Now in Minnesota, the only thing that stores run out of are rental movies, junk food and bake at home pizzas. Everybody just kinda chills at home, problem solved.

I live in Arizona. If it rains, we are happy. If it snows we are happy. If it is anything but hot, dry and sunny, we are happy. We need more weather.

Hot, sticky, and sweaty here. I hate Taiwan's tropical status, and truly welcome any typhoons that do come. Pity that's summer though; but I like a good storm. Tornadoes are rather difficult, however. Straw goes so fast as to penetrate wood...not something I want to be caught out flying a kite in. And since there's no bloody wind here, I can't even fly my minature dragon kite.

Although it flies perfectly well on my fan...

Spyder- For me Jimmy, I guess it is because I don't live in a place where it snows, like EVER. I hate the cold. The thought of freezing to death when the power is out or my roof caving in because of the weight of the snow keeps me safely in semi-tropical Florida.

It's really not too bad, once you get used to it. I actually prefer the cold weather most times. Remember, you can always throw more clothing on, but there's only so much you can take off. I just hate weather where it gets so damn hot you can't even think straight. (And yes, we did get that in Maryland, even if it is a bit farther north. Damn 105° weather with 95% humidity.)

Seconded; excessive heat is maddening. During such times, I can't bear any physical contact with anyone else. Our house lacks an airconditioner, so the heat just flows from room to room. The third floor is the worst...

Spyder- Neat! Florida weather in Maryland! I've heard that about the layering too. I would think it would get kind of heavy and restrictive though. It's got to be all in where you live, I guess. And yes, in Florida we can bitch about the cold while wearing a long sleeve shirt and sweater/jacket AND capris and sandals. The only problem I have with our weather is the transplants that don't know better than to go inside during the heat of the day. Any native Floridian knows to do your hardest work in the early morning and late afternoon.

Well, and you get used to colder temps. After a bunch of -15°F days in a row, 20-30° will have you running around outside in a sweatshirt and pair of jeans and you'll feel fine. biggrin.gif

Spyder- Yeah, that would do it. Think about my perspective. When you have a 90 to 100+ high, seventies at night feel nice and cool.

Or, you know, you have a spine.

Please note, the preceding sentence has been pre-moderated in the attempt to pre-emptively aid Ghis' momderating efforts. As much as I'd like to see Kay in a vening, momderation is a heavy yoke to bear and he shan't bear it alone while I am here to mock spelling errors in another thread.

So true. Once you flay them, you're really only repeating yourself to little effect after that.
