Hi folks,

just out of curiosity, what is your favourite solo? Can be any instrument, any musical genre.
I don't think I could actually pick a favourite among all the solos I like, but one that I really enjoy is the guitar solo in Jethro Tull's Aqualung (3:26 - 4:36).

Please list only one solo per post so that if other people want to check it out, they can do that without being overwhelmed smile.gif

Spyder- Oh, that's easy. My favorite solo is Han. laugh.gif

Jaxon- Congrats, DERAILED!!

Spyder- Seriously though, the guitar solo in Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper".

Jaxon- Ditto.

Yep, BOC's Don't Fear the Reaper ftw

Don't Fear the Reaper is good stuff but I have to say mine is either the drum or organ solos of Inna Gadda Di Vida by Iron Butterfly.

Nothing screams awesome like lyrics jumbled up via a good ol' fashioned acid trip.

I have to say the opening to Nuclear Summer from Youngblood Brass Band is my current favorite. That Sousaphonist has AMAZING chops, I'm envious...

BOC's a good one but i like the guitar solos in Where Dragons Rule by DragonForce theres a guitar solo like every 30 seconds, all it really is is like 20 seconds of them wailing on their guitars. Im surprised they even have fingers still.

Jaxon- Inna Gadda Di Vida should have been In the Garden of Eden, but the band was too stoned to sing it correctly, soo.....

I heard that they were drunk off red wine but I guess there was a good chance it was both.

Steevie Ray vaughan's guitar solos are awesome. I always love relaxing to his music and his one man music orgies. Plus, many of his tunes are just one long guitar solos. mmmmmmmmmmmmh.

I've always liked that minute long guitar solo in Stairway to Heaven...

I've checked BOC's Don't fear the reaper: sounds pretty technical but I can't seem to enjoy it very much sad.gif

Has any of you heard Randy Rhoad's guitar solo in Ozzy Osbourne's Mr. Crowley?

Spyder- S'allright, different tastes I'm sure. I can't really think of any others right off hand, though.
