Okay so lately I've been having these rather disturbing nightmares. I think I have an idea on what my subconscious is trying to tell me, but I figure I'll ask for multiple opinions.

Over the weekend, I had a dream where I was in my room and I fell asleep on my bed (yes a dream within a dream). I had a dream that there was a youngish woman who wanted my services for this inventing company. Suddenly my dad wakes me up and he warns me against it. I ignore him and say it will be fine. The next day (I guess...its dreamleand) I go outside and there is the woman from my dreams inside a Mini Copper looking car. I hop in, thinking that I'm going to a bright new future, then suddenly I...well you can't say feel, because you really don't feel in a dream, but...something smack against my head, and the next thing I know is I'm in a room. I hear voices outside and they are talking about me not being able to escape. I escape and they start shooting at me, but with the amazing power of dreamland I was unharmed. So I run to the wall phone and find that the line is cut, so then I go outside, into a yard that looks a lot like mine. There's a little girl standing there and in a creepy monotone voice she asks me for my glasses. I say hell no, and then she replies that I'm not going to need them where I'm going. I proceed to fly away at a rapid speed, then the next thing I know is I'm in a S.U.V. with the girl, except she's huge and she says," Oh yaeh! A new dolly to play with." And she's holding a f*cking scalpel in her hand.

Then my alarm cloak went off thank god.

Then last night I had a dream where my family was moving, and me and my brother were tasked with watching our stuff while Mom and Dad got tickets for the plane. I'm playing on my Ipod and my brother had something to do. Suddenly a man comes up and threatens to kill me if I don't give him all our luggage. Obviously I give him everything...but I hesitate when it comes to my flute. I beg him not to take it, and then he shots me. Next part of the dream I remember is a whole bunch of my friends gathered in a room, and then I walk in looking pretty good. They mock me for my stupidity for not just handing it over, but we start talking and having a whole bunch of fun. Suddenly we're in my Spanish class room, and the zombie apcoplaspe is going on outside. We are the only people left and the zombies are trying to get it. We decided to make a run for it, but right as we leave, I realize I forgot my flute in the class room and run back and get it. My friends wait for me, and the guy who asked me out recently grabs my hand and tells me to run faster. We're running and running, and suddenly a zombie grabs the flute case I have strapped over my shoulder. I have a split second and the guy tells me to let go of it. I don't and the next thing I know I'm about to get eated by zombies....

Thank god for that alarm.

So what I think they mean:
Since my flute and my glasses are probably some of the most important things to me, I think my subconscious is telling me that I'm too attached to them and need to let go. Maybe...either that or I have a fear of dying...*shrug* Any ideas?

So share your crazy ass dreams and nightmares, and maybe interpret others and help out! laugh.gif

yay! finally!
okay, creaziest cream I ever had:
I was finally on the first manned mars mission! by the time I was on the suface of mars I explored the terrain, it was cool with all the dirt and rocks and mountains all rust colored, as mars has a rusty covering. Then the theme of my dream suddenly changed, I made possibly the most incredible discovery of all time: Mars was inhabitted by bipedal walking donkeypeople! laugh.gif
I remember the image where I was walking across a path, I wasn't in a town, it was just a path, on mars, cutting through small hills. There was a donkey man in a suit walking by, and a donkey lady carrying a donkey baby passing me in the opposite direction. A little cliched. Then somehow after contact I was able to become a donkey myself and play basketball with the locals, it was awkward to try and grab a basketball with hooves instead of hands it was in a small gym with a cement floor and one hoop, I could look outside and see the rusty martian atmosphere and donkey locals walk by through the door. Then upon returning to earth, it was discovered that the donkey people were secretly migrating to the earth, disguising themselves as humans, and have been doing so for decades, infact half the population were alien donkey people. Then, according to people magazine, justin Timberlake, brittany spears, and the entire cast of harry potter were discovered to be illegal alien donkey people! stck on that thought, I slowly woke up.
not done there, I have more, but I'll let someone else share because the post would be too long...

The fact that both times you refused to give up replaceable objects when clearly you would have been fine or at least more likely to be fine had you given them up certainly signifies you are stubborn in regards to what you consider yours. That you were made to believe you were a doll means you fear losing control, or to be more specific giving control to someone else. You also fear death as a punishment for your possessive nature. /psychiatrist Ryan

Recently I have been having a strange dream that keeps happening over and over.

It starts, as most do around this time in the school year, with me getting up to get to school and then appearing there. In the classroom I am alone and just know something is wrong. I look above the door and where a clock should be there are torn out wires. I look for the desks and discover it is just empty space. I go to the window, but they are locked and the sky is dark and swirling, making it impossible to know the time of day. The door too proves locked, and by now the room looks nothing like a classroom. I eventually remember I am wearing a watch and lift my wrist to look at it. The hands move in opposite directions and the "LUXE" printed on the face has changed to "Good luck." The watch then falls apart in a cloud of gears and springs which then force themselves into my lungs. I wake up somewhere between coughing up blood and losing consciousness.

Wow. Hmm...I'll have to think about that one. Hope I don't have another bad dream tonight...they are starting to become regular and I even cut back on sweets and milk before dinner, since those supposedly give you nightmares...

And Cal...for your dream, maybe you dislike the fact that people pretend to be what their not (the donkey's disguised as people) and you think everyone is an ass (haha...) deep down?

Ryan: The only thing I got out of that was maybe a fear of dying alone and/or being the last person around. Not as helpful as you am I?

alright! next couple:
I was at a museum of natural history when it suddenly turned into a real american pleistocene environment, or whatever time period saber toothed cats were in north america. But it was more like a stage designed to look like that environment. I got turned into one (Now I wish I was turned into an american lion) so I go hunting and find a gap between the trees revealing a view of terrain outside the forest. I see a few mammoths walking a few yards away, and knowing that's way over my head, I turn away. I break to a run and then try to run up a waterfall (It was in a white room, and was water running down a 70 degree slope.) then suddenly I was human again, and the owner of the museum and my mom were scolding me for misusing museum property. Then the setting shifted and was walking across a wood path to another building where I played DDR or some interactive game involving a wide screen TV, in a T. Rex costume.
NEXT! (this one was when I was six, it was so weird I still remember it)
I was in my weekly music class and our music teacher was showing us a slideshow about an epidemic that's been going around since the 30s and is getting pretty bad. The only slide I looked at in my dream was a slide in black and white of a mand who was walking out of his beatle in a suburb walking to his house. He was wearing a bunny mask, and the mask was of a sad bunny face. As fear and anxiety set in I wanted to do something about this, so I joined a charity football team. After an epic game that my mind couldn't create the details of, I managed to score the winning point and we reached our goal. full of excitement, a bunch of ownerless dogs up for sale tackled me and aggressively licked my face in gratitude for saving them from the deadly virus.
(I was six when I had this dream)
here's how I enterpret my dreams: "that was entertaining." I had the martian donkey dream because I learned nasa was thinking about sending astronauts to mars for a 3 YEAR STAY (sounds awesome and adventurous) my dreams start with what I've been thinking of mainly, and then as I sleep deeply it gets weird... although I can mention dreams with personal issues hidden within too, or at least the ones that provoked strong emotions.
Sal
Dreams usually have some deeper meaning though...such as last year I had dream..

I was in this elaborate castle like place, simply wandering through the halls until I find a room with a huge chandelier. Its a dining room and I start to eat some food that just popped up on a silver plate. I start feeling real good about myself, then suddenly I sense someone behind me. Its one of my friends and I greet them. They respond by charging at me and biting my neck even though I tried to resist. There's laughing and then I wake up.

I talked to my dad about it, and we looked it up, and supposedly being bite by a vampire in your dream is that you fear betrayal of some sorts. About a week after I had the dream, the friend that I thought was a good one, stabs me in the back...

So no matter how off the wall your dreams may seem, I think there is some sort of meaning.
Angel/Demon
Well, since we're even mentioning dreams we remember from when we were young... I had this one dream from when I was either 3 or 4 and at first I was playing with my dog Sassy as always when suddenly a snake came up and bit off all the skin on my left arm. What was left was greenish meat and stuff. I ran to my dad and showed him my arm and was disgusted and then I had found a piece of cheese on said arm and ate it. It then skipped to a little later with my arm bandaged up with me in the kitchen. There I found Mickey Mouse dead on the floor. I picked him up and ran into the living room where everyone said "Suprise!" because it was my birthday. All I would say is "Mickey's dead! Mickey's dead!" over and over again.

And that was it of all that I can remember...

okayyy....so....winning a football game for a team and being surrounded by a cheering crowd means that in the first grade I really liked getting attention?
heh...next! (this one is the scariest nightmare I ever had)
My little brother and I were sent to some redneck home to stay for an entire spring break. They lived in the middle of nowhere, the environment was kinda dry. We came across an enormous bottomless pit with a floating platform in the center with a house on it. A path of gravel/dirt bridge connected the platform to the edge of the pit. Just near the bridge and the edge of the pit, was the mother of the enormous family. (husband, wife, 50 kids total). She welcomed us in and brought our luggage in for us. Talking to the kids my bro and I learn that the husband and wife don't agree on everything. The wife wanted to go with family tradition and name every single of their children SEYD (all caps too) the father wanted what's best for the kids and give them suitable names like George, or Carmen. So, 25 kids were named SEYD, the rest had normal American names. We learned that the house was pretty old. then the fear sets in, we learned on the news there was a murderer on the loose killing children raised by family tradition. He kills at night, and one person per killing night. He's been spending a lot of time near the house we were staying at, he already killed 15 of the kids who were named SEYD. I was scared, even though he probly wouldn't kill me, you never know what a serial killer would do. Then the next day, we find the family panicking, because another kid named SEYD was just killed overnight. And worse, my brother was beginning to like the remaining kids named SEYD. She accepted him as an unofficial member of the family, and they called him SEYD as a nickname to fit the cameraderie. I begged him to leave with me, but he was in denial of the killers presence. Then that night we stay up watching haunted on the discovery channel, the episode was about the ghost of a serial killer whose killed members of a family all named SEYD. We were up till midnight. then I look through the glass door to the back yard and I see a figure of a man with a knife in his hand. He was far from the house but it scared the crap out of me, and I woke up.
My little brother has come close to death most in my family, so he often becomes the center of concern. I absolutely hate the foolishness of some people, and how it sometimes puts a negative affect on me when I interact with them.

Wake up, soaked in sweat. Know that I'm going to die that day. Proceed to die that day in a gruesome manner. Wake up, soaked in sweat, knowing full well that I'm going to die on that day. Proceed to die that day in a gruesome manner. Wake up, soaked in sweat.

When I finally wake up, there's a tremendous dark spot in my bed, and my clothes literally feel like I dunked them in a bucket of water. Sweat rolls down my forehead and I can't help but think, what the hell happens if those dreams are true?

By the way, it repeats like, a hundred times in one night sometimes. And in each dream, I die in a different way. In one I get hit by a subway train, in another I fall out a window, in another I get gunned down in front of my family. No matter how I die, it's either painful, terribly gruesome, or it gives me plenty of time to realize, I really am about to die.

Once I had a dream I met someone, I woke up and realized I had not. It would have been nice to meet them then but I'll meet them when i'm ready.

I just realized this sounds I've never met my child or something. It's not that.

couple of nights ago I had a dream that really fucked me up. It was a really long and detailed one so I'll just tell you the most important/disturbing things. It started with me and some frineds waking up in an appartment of a really rich guy with no memory of the evening before, but this guy telling us we were doing drugs and pretty much out of control. We then went ot a No Doubt - Concert at some park (I'm not even a fan of No Doubt!), and some chick showed me footage about the previous evening, it was mainly about me jumping in a pool and sinking like a rock, only to be pulled out again and agein by that rich guy. Well, we were walking away from the concert when I realised the park was full of pigeons. I looked to my right and there were two giant pigeons (about 80 cm each) standing there. So I ask the other guys: "Do you see these pigeons over there?", and they asked "What pigeons?", and one of the giant pigeons tilted its head to the side and said: "What pigeons, [my name]?"
Yeah, that fucked me up. And no, I'm not actually doing any drugs.

@raven: Thats hard stuff right there, if I were you I'd probably go see someone because of that...

Hmmm.. my weirdest dream.. ah

my weirdest dream that i can remember i had years ago, this is how it started out: It was a sunny summer morning, my mother made me and my 4 siblings go to the store to buy cabbage. After getting lost we finally found the store, we stood outside and we heard a swooshing sound, and then out of nowhere there was master chief from halo in front of us and asks us if we want to go to the moon, we say "we cant fly!". And then he bellows "Follow me!" and he flew upwards and out of sight, and we just walk into the store like nothing happend.

i never have long dreams XD
Rayne
I don't usually have long dreams so much as little snippets of scenes.

The one that really gets to me the most (as in, the one I remember the best) was like a year-ish ago(?), I dreamed that my favorite pajama pants were on fire, and for some reason I decided to pull them off with my hands calmly and collectedly without making a single expression despite the fact that it hurt like hell (in the dream, anyway, which was weird because I really could feel it...that was also the night I discovered I could sleepwalk and put on some pants over my shorts, however, so the cold of being out of my blankets might have provided the actual sensation that I could have confused for pain).

Yknow, because in the dream world, stop drop and roll was a waste of time, apparently.

I seem to recall that I was VERY deliberate in my attempt to not show pain, however...

(There's apparently a form of mental torture where you show someone a hot poker or something being heated until it turned red, blindfold them, and throw some meat on a grill at the same time as putting an ice cube on their skin, and they feel like they've just been burned. So, technically speaking, it's actually quite likely that's why I actually felt the pain of the fire.)

..Fine...i'll post mine too, those in the JJ already know. It's the only real dream i've ever had (from what i remember at least)

Um, ..*stratches head* ..the details are kinda fuzzy now ...hmm ..how to explain it. huh.gif

..I was in some kind of room or surroundings with the background looked like the JJ boards. Then i saw myself walking toward a square, like those where the boards avatar is, where a girl is (she wears a spider-man mask tho to hide face).

Anyway, now i'm (my spectator self) drawn into myself as they kiss..(a really intimate one that makes you heart race faster)..and everything is in slow motion...just then i wake up/snap out of the dream and i'm all flabbergasted sitting in my bed and can't fall asleep again. mellow.gif

That is indeed correct, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between two extreme temperatures, at least right away.

Oh wow.

I've got a whole list.

I typed one down because a friend wanted to read about it, let me find it and paste it.

Alright here's a couple of dreams I thought were weird but I don't think about very much:
There is the dream I had where I was a superhero and I got to go to superhero camp. I had the ability to breath fire, and the camp was a foggy, swamp like version of a summer camp I frequently go to every year. While in the frisbee golf field I noticed that zombies were attacking, and I tried to fend them of with my awesome flames, and burned a few zombies, but often when I'm dreaming when I try to do something that's impossible in reality, even though it happens in the beginning of the dream, it doesn't work. Anyway, my ability turned off and I was getting stressed and frustrated, and then I woke up.

In another dream I went off on vacation to the beach with my labrador retriever puppy that doesn't actually exist. I played frisbee with my puppy at the beach, and enjoyed a great hotel. Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember dreaming about looking at the clouds from a beach chair, sitting on the hotel balcony and stuff. Anywho, once I got back home, my hometown was completely destroyed. That's because it was in the middle of an alien/zombie apocalypse. Half the people I knew were under mind control and were wearing mind control masks. The aliens were apparently communists because they monitored all of our actions and made all the citizens eat the same food every lunchtime in a cafeteria. While enjoying my mashed potatoes, I hatched a plan with my free-willed friends to put an end to all of this. I couldn't move on with the plan because I woke up.

I've had about three or four dreams about dying and going to heaven, they all didn't happen the same way, but I'm not sure if it counts as a repeated/constantly recurring dream. I think I dreamed twice about going back and forth between heaven and earth. In one dream I went to heaven and it was a huge castle, and demon dragons were starting to attack it. In another I passed through the gates and the first thing I see is a small arcade room. In the most peaceful dream I descended up and saw familiar characters getting along when they shouldn't. There was a hot tub in a cloud, and it was relaxing laugh.gif my dream had frodo, gollum, Wario, and I think pikachu was in it too.

In one dream I was moving back and forth from a distant planet that only i knew about, and appreciated. I wanna explain it, but I've already made this post pretty big. blink.gif
Angel/Demon
Another dream I had involved me going on a rampage killing all these people that either seemed rabid or turning zombified. I was doing several kill shots and at the very end of my dream my boyfriend killed me via headshot then I woke up. This is where the weird thing happens.

A little later that day, I was talking to my boyfriend about the dream and... we were basically finishing each others sentences. WE HAD THE SAME DREAM ON THE SAME NIGHT! He even mentioned the head shot, but it differed after that because he slept a little longer and apparently I got up and killed more zombies in his dream.

What is with that? blink.gif huh.gif
Rayne
Man I had a weird dream last night. It's hard to explain because it defies all normal logic and physics, but BASICALLY, despite the fact that I was POSITIVE I was standing up straight, one look in the mirror revealed that I was slouching ridiculously. I had to throw my shoulders back awkwardly and practically crack backwards to stand up straight.

It was very weird.

There was also something about a crush I had on somebody, an aquarium, a restaurant and a bathroom break (where the mirror was).
Sal
It wasn't necessarily a crazy dream, but last night I dreamt that my mom refused to allow me to go to the competition tomorrow, because I gave her attitude. Not too far from the truth sometimes... dry.gif
Barbarian At The Gate
Some of my earliest memories are re-occuring nightmares from when I was about 3-4. One of them I was walking down the street with my family and while it was the neighborhood street near our house the whole city was clearly in hell. It was dark with fire everywhere, the only color was red and for some reason their were owls. But that's not the wierd part, the wierd part was while I said I was walking with my family and it felt like that their was my me, my parents and this little kid. Atleast he felt like a little kid to me in the dream even though I was a little three year old and he was clearly bigger than me and older looking but in the dream he still registered as a little kid. That is only kind of wierd and could be chalked up to some sort of wierd dream logic but years after I stopped having the dream it was still clear in my head and it really through me when I thought of it one day as I was looking at that freaky kid. Him exactly, his build, his face, his haircut, the way he moved, how he dressed, him beyond a shadow of a doubt. It made the little kid feeling make sense but the dream really freak me out since I was looking at my little brother at about age 7 and he wasn't even born until years after I had that dream.

One time I dreamed that everyone in the Heroes thread was kidnapped. Including me.

I had a cool fight scene though. It didn't show me anyone else's but I assumed that most of them/you did as well...

when I was in the seventh grade I had a dream that I had a close personal connection to a distant planet that nearly no one else knew of. I went back and forth between school, home and that planet. I dreamed nothing of any activities with the locals like my martian donkey people dream. I just enjoyed being there, it was sort of a "cool! narnia!" thing. later I found out that it was being taken over by some evil dude making everyone there suffer and all that corny stuff. And all my friends were encouraging me to not listen to my altruism, and forget about that planet so the evil dictatorship doesn't kill me. and I just kept responding with "They're my pals, blah blah" so I went to save that planet, and it was a leeroy jenkins type of operation because I failed miserably, got captured, and put in a dungeon. While I was planning an escape some kid who was in my math class at the time came in to deliver a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to eat for lunch. Then I began to wake up and started picturing all the creatures celebrating after I win their freedom back.
I have no idea why I sometimes have epicly cliched dreams sometimes, its kinda weird.
I also had a dream where I jumped off the staircase, and then I woke up before I painfully landed.

I had a dream where I could have sworn that I was Ignitus... Portal...then Witch...then Robert....It was freaking crazy. I was just like everyone.

But a really crazy dream I had was last night, I wasn't sure if I was awake or asleep, but I remember looking up and there was this skelatal hand reaching for me. I pulled the covers over my head and the next thing I knew, I was the character I made for a Call of Chuthlu game and I was a laughing maniac. Then suddenly I had a Ipod touch with special warping capabilities, but it malfunctioned and I went to hell. But there was some kickass pizza there. This one has an explanation though. It was 5 in the morning when I finally fell asleep and that was because of a massive amount of allergy meds and some cough syrup.
Barbarian At The Gate
I was definatly awake for this but Sal mentioning cough syrup brought it to mind. A few weeks before an outburst of hatred destroyed a few ceiling tiles.

I was on some medication the kind you don't mix with mix with things when I got sick. So home sick on medication, cough syrup and some not quite legal herbs for extra numbing of the suffering. Then my poorly advized medical cocktail led me to believe I was born a ceiling tile and some mysterious outside force of magic had caused me to fall from the ceiling and loose my wonderful ceiling tile form, transforming me into a absolutely abhorent fleshbag like creature ( human ). I had quite a long conversation with the ceiling tiles above me about this problem and was trying to find a way we could fix it so I could go back to my prefered ceiling tile form and the ceiling could be whole about it.

Some one came to check on me and told me I was incoherently mumbling to myself and they decided it was best to just leave me be.

Baeron von Bleat
Re-occuring childhood Nightmares -

1. I'm a superhero of some prestige, but my arch enemy has trapped me in a maze. I'm turning corners, trying to find my way out, and failing miserably, when he comes on a giant overhead screen, mocking me. Then the screen reveals a five year old girl, in a field, picking flowers, and the villain approaches her, and she turns, offering him the flowers. I'm still trapped in the maze, and he knows I'm watching, and just as he's about to do terrible things to the girl, I wake up screaming. I had that dream all the time.

2. Christmas! - Every christmas eve I would wake up, walk down the hall to where "Christmas" was, with the tree around the corner to the right, and the stockings on my left by the chimney. But I would stop at this point, and be able to turn right to see the tree with the presents, or left to the stockings and cookies and milk. I'd be trapped, frozen in this moment until the dream ended (which would take a while, and it got pretty nerve wracking in that time).

I had a crazy ass dream last night.
I bought a car for 15.000 dollars (it looked like the Delorean from BTTF). I picked up my ex girlfriend and she pulled her shirt off. My parent were there to, and I kicket her out of the car. My parents were gone now and so was the car. I played in a band the next minute and a group of girls was constantly around me. tongue.gif

yep that's me as well...

when I was ten my mom was promising me that sometime that summer we would go to toys r us and buy stuff with the gift card I got from a relative. (she never did) and every day she'd say we'll go the next, and every night I had recurring dreams of going to toys R us. It always started with me entering the store, finding a video game/console I've been dying to get, and then searching my wallet for my card, and then waking up before purchasing the stuff i got. other than those steps the dreams were completely different and bizarre in ways I can't remember.

I remember this spesific one really good tho, and I had it years and years ago when I was 14... I'm 27 now.

Bathtub was the only furniture in there.
Then this man comes in and with his hands just pulls out a bunch of her teeths in one pull.
Bathtub is filling with blod and then I can't remember more until I see her again sitting in a rocking chair, breastfeading a baby.
This room is all white and empty too.
The same man comes in, puts his hands around the babie's head and squeeses it until blood purs out of its ears :S

Oh, and my other Nightmares always revolwes around this little girl with long black hair. Somtimes shes a real girl, other times she is a doll.

Scares the living daylight out of me:P

These days it's a case of close my eyes, roll over, open my eyes & get up again, usually with either a large chunk of time having passed by, or barely thirty seconds before I'm up again.

I only seem to have one nightmare, recurring and yet every time it changes the most insignificant of details, so I seem to find. What scares me is that I always recognise it's a nightmare, yet I can never wake up despite whatever I try, and despite knowing what's coming, it always seems to leave me broken, if that's even possible.

So, this nightmare? Fairly personal, but what the hell... My nightmare? A wedding day. Specifically my own. Seeing as I hold no hopes of getting mad, perhaps I should find it ironic, or at least humorous, but I really don't.

Being someone who ranks Loyalty & Turth high in my list of acceptable & needed traits in someone, a wedding, especially my own is well, more than sacred to me. And yet in this nightmare, despite the smallest of details changing (colour of the flowers at the Reception, the Bride changing every time, some small talk, room numbers..) it always ends the same way.

Now, that part I'm not going to talk about, but I think you probably have an idea of how... bizarre my mind is to cook up something most people dream about & turn it into the sole nightmare I have the pleasure of re-living, often after extended periods of time without sleep or caffeine.

I don't have 'dreams' in the normal sense of the word. My mind does one of two things once I go to sleep: 1) floats there in oblivion going over random things that I've been thinking of throughout the day; or 2) generates an exceedingly strange and yet unsettlingly vivid fantasy sequence in which I can almost 'experience' everything therein. Examples of this include epic fights where I'm stuck in slow motion and get the ever-loving crap beat out of me (causing my physical self to actually convulse in the bed with the force of each blow), a swordfight or two where I was wounded in-dream and woke up in equivalent pain and bleeding (although the bleeding wasn't nearly as bad as the dream wound was), etc.

One prominent example of this was when I had the same recurring sequence in my dreams for a few nights that was so powerful that it affected me after I woke up. I would be walking down a street in what seemed to be a random street in New Orleans when I would chance upon a conspicuously unassuming shop front with no sign on the door other than 'We're Open.' Looking in, I noticed a quite stereotypical voodoo-lady--a shriveled old black woman wearing a strange headdress, excessively gaudy jewlery, and an equally flamboyant and colorful robe--mixing an unidentifiable subsance at a table with various alchemical equipment. Since this was the first time I had this dream--and since I am not a complete fool--I ignored the shop and promptly walked away into another dream sequence. I apparently wasn't done with this one, however, because the same thing happened again the next night. While I was slightly uneasy about the same dream occurring twice in a row, I ignored it a second time and continued sleeping. The dream manifested again the very next night, though, so it seemed that I had no choice but to acknowledge it. Much against my better judgement and knowing that I would regret it, I went in. Upon noticing my presence after I perused the shelves for a little bit, the voodoo-lady promptly finished whatever she was concocting and poured the thick liquid into a flask, which she then handed to me while simultaneously commanding me to drink, telling me that it would 'keep me safe'. I scoffed at the little woman--since not only did I not know of anything that I would need her protection from, the potion that she gave me was the most foul-smelling subsance that I had ever 'encountered'--and turned away without taking it with every intention of leaving. Unfortunately, however, several monstrous creatures simultaneously materialized out of the shadows on the wall and began advancing toward me, prompting me to lurch toward the old woman's table and snatch the phial off of it, steeling myself for the taste and chugging the whole thing on my way down.

The monsters evaporated into thin air, and then the entire room began to shift and twist as reality seemed to fold in upon itself, the old woman laughing that stereotypical Madame Zeroni laugh all the while. The rest of my dreams that night consisted of flashing colors, mind-rending distortions of my already strange dream-world, and that damn laughing permeating the background. I woke up in a sweat when my alarm went off and expected it to be over, but I was sorely mistaken as I spent the entire day jumping at demonic shapes that lunged at me from nowhere, trying feebly to maintain my bearings while the floor heaved incessantly and stumbling around with a constantly-shifting perception of 'up'; all with that accursed cackle riding around in the back of my head.

Trippy shit, indeed.

My dreams are 90% surreal, and so are impossible to describe, although a fair amount do involve playing some videogame my dream has created, or being in a game.

My strangest (and only lucid) dream so far that I can truly and perfectly remember, is a dream where I lucidly woke up in a Xenomorph Hive, dressed in a beige jumpsuit. I get up, then see an egg, then a facehugger jumps at me from the egg and I black out when it grabs me. Then, I wake up again, still in the dream, leaning against a wall. There is a tiny shuttle or something like that in front of me, with its' door open and the interior lit, showing it to have white walls and maybe yellow seats. Then, a xenomorph walks out, and I suddenly possess the knowledge that if I move at all, it will attack. I decide that I am curious to see what happens next, and move my limbs, which feel strangely heavy. The creature hisses and jumps at me, and I wake up, totally energized and alert. It was strange, as I knew I was dreaming the whole time and could control my own actions.

My dreams can be 100% surreal, especially that donkey people from mars dream.

I remember a dream i had either a few weeks or half a year ago where I went exploring and found a marine city that rose through the mountains and was full of fog. It cut through a valley, the city was like a hallway, except it was so big it didn't feel like a hallway at all, the walls had hundreds of floors with doors to homes, apartments, and other sections of the city. at the bottom was the town square, complete with a fountain, and submerged in water. The walls rose as high as the mountains and waterfalls fell down from the top of them. mist was everywhere and I could barely see the bay at the horizon where the city ended. I had this dream because I was thinking about these two characters I came up with who lived in a nation that's basically the ocean, and I dreamed I was in the capital, which was deserted. And all the buildings were carved by sapphire or some kinda shiny blue gemstone.

After walking across the landscape, and observing the od artwork and hyroglyphics of the marine men, I started to explore their temple to find a way to restore their popualtion and culture as link from the legend of zelda complete with zora armor.

Last night I dreamed I was visiting a kind of acid factory. Well, at first I thought it was liquid nitrogen, with all the fog and stuff, but when the first drops touched my skin, it was quite clearly acid. The factory was open air, and when they opened their gate, streams of acid ran through barely predefined, open streams, a bit like an erupting volcano. I tried to fiend shelter from the acid in several places, but a few drops always came through and burnt my hand pretty badly. When I woke up the first thing I did was feel if the back of my hand was really covered in red blisters.

It used to be that my dreams were exclusively nightmares, but nowadays they can be either those or these wierd pubescent dreams that one would not want to hear about...

So I had one recently where the friend of the girl who sits in front of me in HCAII tried to murder me by sticking an electric handdrill through my eyesockets. Go figure.
Angel/Demon
I had a scary nightmare the other night that I thought was a good dream at first.

My boyfriend and I were fooling around when all of a sudden my dad walks in. He then proceeds to try and kill us for doing such things before marriage while I yelled "Hypocrite!" the entire time.

I haven't had a dream that I've remembered in years.

For a long while in high school I had reoccurring ones where I was being chased through this floorless, ceilingless, walless void of black by .. something... it always ended with whatever it was "getting me" and I'd wake up.

I had that dream a lot for a long time.

Post my father's suicide I'd often dream of him in outlandish scenario's, like post apocolyptic war zones and stuff. I'd always wake up tho if I ever reach or tried to talk to him.

I know I have dreams, but when i wake I don't remember them, they fade very quickly if I recollect them at all.

I've had that whole "running away" dream, but more often then not, something happens where I'm trapped and can't run away anymore, and it's on the verge of catching up to me. Of course said "Nameless horror" never showed up before I woke up.

Amusingly enough, most dreams where death or impact are imminent, I always woke up after the fact.

Examples:
Parachuting with my blanket as parachute. Not working, and ground is imminent. I land in a heap in backyard (good aim?). I get up, start walking, wake up.
Rollercoaster won't buckle, go upside down. Dangle while rescue comes, but lose grip just before safe. Fall, hitting rail on the way down, flipping through air. Get up unscathed, walk away, wake up.
Go to hell, get tortured by devil, see family there. Threatened by devil. Have head chopped off by devil. Head rolls to watch family. Family is about to be tortured, and I'm helpless (I'm just a head at this point), then wake up.

I am thinking of getting a dream journal, and leaving it by the bed, and writing down any dream I remember as vividly as I can. Hopefully this will help strengthen my "Dream memory".

Im fairly well known for my .. bad? dreams. Mostly because i spend so god damn much of my time at the moment sleeping its not suprising i have a lot of dreams to share but i will share just the one, quite a long one actually.

Im standing alone in a classroom, at my old highschool, im playing with a lighter, on the white board is a message that i cant read, the writting keeps moving and shaking and its hard to focus on. I flick the lighter on and off constantly, untill i accidentally catch my skin with it, burning me.

Suddenly the whole place is on fire. Suddenly it is weeks later, the whole area is being cordoned off, with giant concrete barriers. Im trapped inside and i have to get out, my girlfriend calls me on my phone and i answer it, she screams down the phone and suddenly is cut off by a man asking where i am. I throw my phone out the window and look to see people setting up charges to blow the school up. I jump out the window and im confronted by a river, i try and swim across it but i cant, and i find that i can just walk through it, it is not deep at all, it is shallow. I look down and now it is a puddle, the puddle is int he middle of a road, i dodge a car and i run to the side of the road. My phone rings, but it isnt my phone its my friends, i get scared and throw it into the road, it answers itself and i walk off in 3rd person to a train station. I am outside my body watching myself walk into an underpass.

I woke up screaming. Oddly enough, the only thing that frightened me about that dream was the underpass, as i am sickeningly afraid of small spaces. Claustraphobia :3

EDIT: i keep my laptop on next to my bed so if i wake up i can write down my dreams right away. Its funny, as sometimes i will wake up and see notes on a dream that i cant remember.

Okay I had this dream a year or so ago but I still remember it.

Was in my backyard with my dog when I saw two wolves just appear out of no where, they start going for my dog but I attack them first. My dog runs into the house and the wolves begin to eat me. All of a sudden they stop and ran off, I watch them run off and standing about 10 feet away from me is a cloaked figure laughing at me. What does this mean?

There are some books that should never be read prior to falling asleep: any Warhammer 40K novel, It, Dracula but the worst is any of the Alien novels. That is all I'm going to say.

I believe I told Verby about this, but I had a dream that he and Jonath were having tea with no faces. And I think they were in space.

This is tame for me, mind.

So share your crazy ass dreams and nightmares, and maybe interpret others and help out! laugh.gif

could also mean your watching way to many movies. the 1st one reminded me of the matrix at 1st. then it started going into a horror movie kinda theme. the second one ended up reminding me of basicly every zombie movie/game that comes to mind. zombieland, resident evil, dawn of the dead, ect ect.

No the worst is reading World War Z because you actually feel like there's a zombie creeping up behind you.
