Just curious if anybody else has picked this up. I have and I just have to say I'm having MAD fun with it. I plan to replay it a few times because I have to try as many world shattering scenario's as possible. The game is great!!!

I am however somewhat regretting my decision to get it for the PS3. Not due to graphics or game play issues, but because I'm a modder. I've been playing since the Never Winter Nights days and was a big time mod developer then. If I decide to again jump on the "build my own world" bandwagon as I did before (2 months development, 3 months building, 2 months testing only to have it all fall apart at about 75% completion due to burn out) I think I'll have to rebuy the game on PC unless they work out a way us PS3 players can play online modules. 0_o I know the development tools are PC only and I understand why for that, but in order for me to test said modules I'd need a way to test live, which as far as I can tell is unobtainable atm on the PS3. Maybe a patch will resolve this in the future.

But I do LOVE DA:O. I loved NWN and I loved the module community there, I was a little annoyed with NWN2 and it's expansion, I even tried online play but just couldn't find a good RP. It's so lonely when your evil :sniff:

But back to DA:O.. biggrin.gif This game is gut wrenching at times, especially if you put emotional investments into your party members which you just won't be able to no do let me tell you. The voice actors are amazing, and some of the funniest dialog happens randomly when your just running around with whatever party you've decided on.

So if your playing and are set up on the community site look me up!! http://social.bioware.com/playerprofile.ph...;nid=2300617358

And by all means leave your opinions, but please don't post spoilers (or at least black them out if you do) in this post. These games are best played through once without knowing the future plot twists so you can make the decisions your character actually would make.

I got it for PC tongue.gif And though I'm moving this weekend (and just bought a place) free time is completely alotted to the game.

Though I'm finding it's tricky (god's, balancing characters so we don't get beat by the gang of ruffians is not fun!)

I've heard casters are over powered, and with Morigan in my party, I rather agree. A well controlled mage can take out any number of people. While a band of warriors just gets pwned.

Very exciting, and work drags because I'm looking forward to it. I don't think I'll get play time till sometime Sunday :/

I've only recently started my second character (my first character had a funny build as a rogue, and was pretty lousy >.< So warrior for round 2).

The character personalities are fantastic though.

we have a gaming forum for these. but no not yet.

If you want to play for sake of RP go easy mode, if you want strategy bump it up to hard or nightmare. My Dalish elf rogue/duelist/assasin on easy totally pwns everything, heck she can solo guys that are yellow easy mode and takes out orange lvl'd ones with a few potions down the hatch. I've tried numerous party combo's and have found with a bit of pausing and telling them what to do on occasion you can handle anything with nearly any party make up (save you have enough potions and are good with stradegy).

Currently I'm running around with party generic which consists of a tank, a healer and two damagers but I think for toon # 2 I'm going to work on playing with any party make up to help progress particular party members respective stories.
Baeron von Bleat
I've got a tanky warrior, and a big reaver warrior who beats things with a two-hander, followed up with a mage/healer (aoe stunner), and a rogue who just runs around unlocking everything, and constantly pick pocketing (so much loot!!!)

I'm definitely doing the story right the first time, but the second time through, I'm going to be a hell of a lot more abusive of my right to do what I want!
euology
Yea me too.

I'm playing chaotic good with a flair for justice. I'll do what's right for everybody else and occasionally do what's right for me.

Next toon will be a mage who's a bit quirky and is more neutral. She'll be someone who will make a decision about something because it's easy or more lucrative not because it's moral.

Post that I'll just go all out bad and just be entirely out for myself and what I want no matter the cost to others. Muwahahah

I've only ran into a few glitches, sometimes the NPC will be talking but it's just their lips moving, or sometimes for killing blows the character getting it will pop all over the screen or be ridding the monster to the ground to deliver a coup de grace but they're like 10feet to the left of the monster. Only reason I call this a spoiler is because I didn't know that they did that and I thought it was cool.

and yes I did get him- games comes with that free promo code which is nice smile.gif but I also went ahead and got all the other free stuff from doing the internet based stuff too. If you make the account on their site go here http://www.dragonagejourneys.com/ play the flash game and open up all the achievements for more free downloads. Still need to download the character creator and upload a toon but post that I think I'll have all the "free" downloads available at this time.

<.< I'm considering getting mod to include hte grey-warden base. Like... I'll be buying on Sunday, considering.
Darkhawk
I have it for xbox 360, though if I'd had a pc instead of a laptop I think I would have gone that way. I was afraid that this thing wouldn't be able to handle it considering that it already has two video games on it. Wow and TF2. Hurgh.

I'm really loving this game and so is my brother. Like Baeron, work seems to be never ending when I know that I get to go home and play this. It's been awhile since I've been this addicted to a game...I kind of miss it. I think at this moment (we obtained the game on monday because it took a week to deliver after pre order...cheaper that way) my brother has 35 hours logged and I have over 25. Given, about 5-10 of my hours are from the game sitting on while I go do something else...but over 50 hours between the two of us in a week is pretty crazy. I think as of today, I'm going to download as much of the downloadable content as possible....even the one that requires me to pay for it. I don't think I'm even a quarter of the way through the game, I plan on replaying if I have time, annnnnnnnnnnnnnd I've probably already gotten most of my money's worth of hours out of this game. The downloadable content should be worth the money. Besides, I think it'd be pretty badass to have a grey warden base where you get to see everything come together...and where you get to store items, holy shit. As of now, I have my 'un-used' party members wearing things I didn't want to sell, just so I have bag space. LMAO. I just hope the base doesn't screw with the story because it's added on and not originally there. : /

As to a comment above...I'm not sure what makes good voice acting. In a movie like Kung Fu Panda, it just feels right. As far as I remember, the mouths lined up pretty closely, every action, movement, and speech action seemed to fit everything that was happening around them. It was smooth and just fit together right. I didn't even have to consider that it wasn't actual actors on screen...

For Dragon Age, there have been a few moments where the mouths moved with no voices...or the lips really didn't seem to fit what was being said. However, all of the main characters in your party seem to be so well done that I forget about their lips. That's hard for me to do considering that I'm a visual learning...I generally watch people's lips when they're speaking. Easier for me to follow along. Some of these characters are so well done...I can't imagine how many hours it took to properly do the thousands upon thousands of dialogue each individual has. I'm getting so attached to Alistair that I want to know who is voice acting him...just so I can play other games where he voice acts. That's never happened for me before with a game. ohmy.gif
euology
For a list of all the voice actors just hit up the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Age:_Origins but be warned the "PLOT" and significant choices are listed below the actors list, so view at your own risk

So I've already beaten it once and what a somber ending I got.. got me near to tearing up!!!!

So I've started anew with a human nobel who's a little more out for herself and neutral, I'm a little over halway through the 2nd toon's story. I'm also doing more of the side quests and special item quests (where you have to read the item description and figure it out). I've made similar yet different decisions and the entire feel of the game is totally different, it's very impressive actually. I watched my husband play a bit yesterday, he's going for the asshole dalish elf RP and some of the stuff that happens with him is pretty funny, bound to bite him in the ass later, but I suppose doing good stuff does that too sometimes, the ass biting I mean.

Favorite Lines:

So many funny things your party members say, when I had Alistair in my party and after a fight out of nowhere he says, "Nothing like a brush with death to make you... not like death." So freaking funny his delivery is just marvelous!!

Oh!! another one I liked alot: It's not from a party member, but it's from a dwarf in Tapster's Tavern. When you talk to him one of your options is: "Would you like a fist to share your face?"

I litterally ROFL when this happened later in the game: put Allistair and Oghren in your party and go the bridge in the commons to cue the "party dialog" untill you get this (may have to run into another door run back out and over the bridge to keep cueing party walking chat till it happens but omg lol)

Oghren: Loooootta tension.
Allistair: *sarcastically* How could you ever tell?
Oghren: Know what I would do to ease the tension?
Allistair: What?
Oghren: Pull out a rag and give the ol' weapon a nice polish.
Allistair: That's disgusting!
Oghren: Oh come on, don't tell me you never gave the ol' sword a spitshine.
Allistair: Never!
Oghren: Damn Chantry and their rules... Know where I love to do it best?
Allistair: Do I even WANT to know?
Oghren: In public.
Allistair: Where everyone can see you? Gross!
Oghren: Yeeeeeeep.
Allistair: I ne--Wait, what are you talking about?
Oghren: What are YOU talking about?

Anybody else got any favorite lines smile.gif - I got a bunch but I want to hear others smile.gif

AUGH (Spoiler for some) Has anyone attempted (Successfully) taking out Flemith? Albeit, I just tried once so far (And I'm level 9-10), and I've done Red Cliffe (mostly), and all of the Circle Tower, but when I went to take her out, all the sudden it was... ZOMG... um... STOP EATING ALLISTAIR!!! Sigh. One of those miserable ganks where you don't even think of re-assembling the troops and trying a new strategy. More "I'm going to go finish the rest of the game and come back and gank you... don't you worry <.<"

Can't quote anyone specifically at the moment >.<

However, I really enjoy the game so far, and the Circle tower was really interesting once it got going!
Darkhawk
Hahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahaha. Haha. My brother beat Flemith on his first try, but he's playing through on easy and was around level 15 at the time. I didn't see him do it, but he say's that he spammed the potion button a lot.

I personally tried only once when my characters were around level 11. I did the same as you...Redcliff, then the mage tower, but I killed all the mages on accident (and I'm refusing to reload to avoid stupid things like that...live with it boy!). This also means that I have no healer, as Moriggan is my only healer. >.< I'm playing on normal difficulty, so I figure that I'll go back when I'm a little over level 15. Hehe.

As for my favorite quotes...I have a lot, but I can't seem to remember them at the moment. I really love Alistair.

The first I can think of is shortly after getting Sten. You walk into the camp/talk to your dog and Sten and the dog are sitting there staring at each other...

Sten: Grrrrrrrrrrrr...
Dog: Grrrrrrrrrrrr...
Sten: GrrrrRRRRrrrr...
Dog: GRRRrrrrrrRRR...
Sten: GRRRRRRRRRRRR...
Dog: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...
Sten: You are a true warrior.

Lmao.
Baeron von Bleat
Bah, I'm not sure if i like adding new characters or not. I have to get them to like my all over again, and I balance out my gifts appropriately >.< Just got the second rogue character, and I don't mind his build (SO MUCH DEXTERITY), but he doesn't have the lock picking I cherish so much (ok, she has some work to go in that department... but she's getting up there).

I'm also frustratingly lazy when it comes to setting up tactics. And I dislike how I sometimes give an order (like "Distract that mage while we kill the group!!!" and the character will run over, smack once, and then run back to the rest of the group, letting the chain lightning get off and POOF. Dead group. Stupid casters being so powerful...)

Thirdicusly, I feel any battle where someone was knocked out somehow cheapens me... <.<

Does anyone know if there's some sort of timer going on in the background that I need to worry about? With Lothern being wiped out... if I go between towns too many times, is something else going to be taken out?!!! Very worried...

So... is anyone else miserably set on keeping their party as Allistair, Morigan, and Liana? (well, I might be switching Allistar for Wynn for simplicity sake. Blast, Heal, Unlock, Tank (main character warrior), but I'm hard pressed to change my lovely line up.

Also, I somehow managed to woo Morigan before we got to Lothern... what a hussy!

I took out Flemeth on the first go around too, was maybe lvl 11ish - lots of potions + Wrynn healing and try to keep a tank on her and faceing her away from everybody else on easy mode (Was alot of manuvering around and pause/charater swapping to make them do as I wished). I dont think I'm going to give Morgrim the Grimore this time and see how the ending changes if it does at all.

In regards to gifiting - only certain party members will respond well to certain gifts. If you want I can give you a basic run down of who likes what just ask smile.gif

I'm running the game on normal mode this time tho, and I have to admit, I have to reign in certain characters and pre-plan a bit more. Like holding everybody back and then kiting a few mobs of a group to the party and things like that.

And no there's no timer, the game progresses after every major event - ie. obtaining an ally through the treties or whatever happens wink.gif. Oh also be sure when your in camp to talk to the dwarf you saved outside lothering ask him about news, sometimes you'll get side quests. These don't show up on in your log, but as locations on the map to stop at.

Oooh, you went on easy mode? Yeah, Normal mode has been no cake walk so far. People get iced, I sometimes have to resort to kite draining with Morigan to finish off waves of baddies just to surive a skirmish. It's ugly. Hell, random encounters do me in often enough >.<

My play through seems to be a lot like yours. My main group has been Morrigan and Alistair (main character is a rogue) and I'm having difficulty deciding on my last character. I've tried a few different things but I can't seem to find someone I really like...honestly, my favorite for my fourth character has been my dog. I greatly enjoy getting people to like me though, and the dog is already up there. Plus, the random conversation while wondering around are probably my favorite part of the game so far...though Alistair has talked with the dog a few times, it's not as good as a full conversation. Dunno.

I had more I was going to say, but I forgot atm. Oh, yeah. I really like Morrigan and Alistair together...so when I got to the circle of mages, I of course had her with. When I bumped into Wynne, Moriggan was saying that they were dumb for letting themselves get turned into captives of the templars...I thought she had a good point, so I agreed with her. Wynne then attacked and died, and I refuse to re-load over a choice I make, so...LMAO. My healer is now Moriggan, as Wynne is dead. Hence why the dragon is going to be super difficult. >.>

I'm looking forward to getting it (PC); I have to wait until my ship pulls back into port again though sad.gif

Personally I'm allowing reloads this time through. There's just too much that goes wrong (well, plus I wipe quite a bit).

My main group is Morrigan, Leiana, and Wynne at the moment, but I really need to give Morrigan a good aoe spell >.< It's just necessary. I gave her the shapeshifting skills, but they're meh... rather regretting that at the moment.

Personally I'd drop shape shifting, and delve deeply into fire (Explosions for the win!)

Everyone else seems to be building nicely (I'm leveling my main character up in two handed weaponry... and yet I have him running around with a sword and board because I need a tank... bah).

I played 4-5 hours in the dwarf town yesterday, and I still don't feel like I'm making headway there. I think I may need to rethink doing EVERYTHING. I've tried chatting up rumors from my dwarven merchant fellow, but he hasn't had much to offer so far, and definitely no side quests >.<, it gets me a bit sad really. But I'm nicely racking up a few dozen gifts to hand out, and I'm just holding them... for some reason... dish them out to people as they prefer them, so I guess I'm waiting till I have everyone I can get so I make the best decisions I can on who gets what.

Oooh, and I'm ammassing a lot of gold (about 95 so far). I just feel like if I buy something I might not have enough when I want something... so I only buy gifts.

I think I may start investing in those "skill books" however. Gear just isn't important! Why waste money on gear when I'll most likely just find better gear at the next town?

DWARF SPOILER Behrain or Logarathen (er, no idea on the spelling, but you know who I mean. I picked Behrain because I felt helping the rich guy who has bribed all the town callers (god those guys are annoying) was the better choice. Then there's the whole "Forged document" thing which had me eh... so I'm not really sure what the "good" choice there is.

Sigh. Back to twiddling thumbs through work till I can play again tonight...
euology
DWARF REPLY SPOILER sorta - Belen or Harrowmen? Belen is a hard edge leader from an esteemed bloodline, ruthless? yes. Young? yes. He is open to allowing more outside traid for the dwarfs to bring prosperity. Harrowmen is more set on the classic ideaology of keeping the dwarfs steeped in tradition. Nicer dwarf? yes. Older? yes. Wants to talk more and resolveing conflict through diplomacy not action.

Both are underhanded and ruthless as politicians, it's a heavy decision - good luck there smile.gif.

For my first group (me the dalish dual weilding rogue/assasin) I ran around with Alistar tanking, Wyrnn healing, and I bounced between everybody else as the 4th as my fancy dictated.

My 2nd Play through (me as the human nobel 2W axe weilder/champion) I swap up the party as I feel which party member will benefit the most from the area I am currently questing in. It's harder yes but the random cut scene's when RP plots are hit are much better. SPOILER - ie. Bring Shale & Ogren to the Anvil questline - Bring Zavren with you to the Dalish Camps - Bring Leliana with you to Denerim after you learn about her troubles and Sten with you to the lake outside the Ciricle when you learn about his issues. There's many more but you'll find them smile.gif

Tho, the most rediculous party set up I've ran around with yet, was me, Sten and Ogren all 2W fighters (each with a Different 2H weapon mind you) and Wrynn for heals (she works nicely as a Arcane warrior with this group because of her self buffs and the fact she stays in with mele) . We just smash faces in, it's silly fun.

i got the game for the X box 360, I'm a level 13 mage at the moment.

So I finally got Morigan her first aoe (Blizzard)... yeah, things just die now. Fight starts, I figure where everything comes from, and lay down a blizzard. The few melee that make it to the group get cone of cold, and mostly shattered by my main, Leiana, and (insert 4th character here).

Although I may consider shifting Leiana out (I just like her because she can pick all of the boxes AND all of the pockets!)

I've run around recently and been buying up all the skill up books. I'm not sure who I want to use on what though... so I'll just have to wait and see.

I think I'm going to bounce around the wilds for a bit to get random encounters and random items so I can make some bank... I'm so poor.

But I'm finally spending money, so I guess that's good?

Priority on item buying = Gift, Books, some gear. I guess i should also buy any of the "Specialization class" books.

My main is going to be a berserking reaver (As soon as I get a reaver book).

Is there a max level btw? I'm guessing 20, but I would really like there not to be, I like my character's ganking abilities tongue.gif

I dont think there is a Reaver book - it's a choice you have to make which is definately not down the path of the righteous or goodly minded character. Only books I know of that you must buy to obtain 2 classes are - Healer - Tranquil shop in Denerim and Ranger which I think I bought at the Dalish Camp.

Blast. Oh well, I spent most of last night in the dwarfish campaign, which is still taking a while (though I was running around for a few sub-quests on the way). I'm torn between heading to Denerim next (so many quests outstanding there) or heading to help the elves. Sigh, we'll just have to wait and see.

Heh, yea

I was sick for like 4 days tho, so I had alot of "sit around do nothing" time.

Also, I've been staying up later than usual just because I get so involved in what I'm doing. Knowing the general plot dialog helps to. Allows me to skip the generalities and get right to the meat of me making my responses. That alone cuts out an exorberant amount of time.

Yeah, my brother is almost further than me on his second play through. It goges much faster when you're not listening to half of what people say. Which, btw, I don't believe their is a level cap. Of course, after a point, it's going to be hard to get any levels. ohmy.gif

I'm still in the dwarf area, too. It's taking me foreverrrrrrrr. Granted, I like to do side quests. Like, every single one of them. I've been pretty neatrul (borderline good...I help a lot of people I shouldn't, and spare a lot of people.) so I do a quest no matter who it's for. Assassin's, mercenaries, city guard, chantry, stealing...I DO THEM ALL MWHAHAHAHAHHA! lol. It causes me to take a lot longer as I run around randomly. ALMOST DONE THOUGH. Then I just have the Dalish and going after the urn. I think I'm going to go to the Grey Warden's base first, though. I need room to store stuff. Which...I'm level 15 right now and I think I'm about halfway through the game. I expect to be pretty high level by the end. Maybe hit level 25? ohmy.gif

I want to play through as evil next, but I don't really know how that's going to turn out. I think it would cause me to use one of the same characters I've already been using...and to make some of the same choices. DOH.

I'm at the end right now of my 2nd character, I'm playing neutralish with a love of intimidation tactics to get my way, sometimes she'll make choices on things because it's easier also, not because it's right. She also hardheaded, especially for her hatred of bloodmagic and anything involving demons. So Conner died as did all the mages at the tower this time around. Her noble roots ensures that bloodlines remain on the thrones of both the dwarven and human nations no matter if those rulers are filled with weakness or ruthlessness. Blood is blood.

This time I'm more firm with my party members, I managed to harden both Alistar and Leliana and they come to terms with certain faults in their personalities and change their perceptions, one becoming less whiny and the other accepting who they are.

I'm at the final battle this time around, I'll post an ending comparison after a few weeks to review how mine turned out vrs yours. I like seeing other endings! (I wait so you all have some end game time to get to).

I'll play out totally evil next go around (as a blood mage - BIG SPOILERS - once I make happy time that demon in the fade who's messing with conner) and will probably side with - the cult of andrastrai, the werewolves and will have the dwarves make me an army of golems. I will say no more but once you get to the landsmeet part there should be no asumtions as to what my overly ambition and rutheless bloodmage will choose to do, muwhaha.

I heard there's new downloadable content! (Return to Ortzibar... or something to that extent). I'll be grabbing that shortly. I didn't play much last night, but I did get the Grey Warden tower. Eul, are you still taking sick days? Because I can't keep up with your pace!!!

My next character is definitely going to be a mage however, sadistic and evil.

Last character will be Lawful Good rogue... so I'm going to refuse to steal, ever... picking boxes is ok <.<

Yea I saw that, I still haven't gotten the warden tower yet, was having issues with my credit card for some reason and gave up for the time being.

No I was only out of work Monday and Tuesday. I get home from work around 5 or 6pm, and normally don't start playing till 8pm or so. But I play nearly nonstop till 1am or so. Normally I go running/jogging at 8pm but I'm still kinda messed up from this cold and the coughing hurts still.

I got D&D tonight so I won't be playing at all tonight, so I'll have to get my ending tomorrow. And I will re-beat the game as my rogue so i can jot down all the "ending stuff" for my comparison (multi-ending) list. Then it's time to play a bloodmage of evilness, then yield the PS3 to my husband so he can finally buy and then play assassins creed 2. I know he's getting itchy since I've been hogging the system heh.

I'll probably play some of assassins creed, but he normally beats it way before I do (I like doing everything and there-fore take longer) and once I see the ending I loose interest in my own play through.

Forgot that you have it for the PS3. I think you probably have less loading time (the longer I play, the longer the loading times get >.< Must be a memory leak somewhere, it gets ridiculous after 4 hours or so of playing >.<)

well I still might end up getting it for PC tbh. I really want to the creation tools. I know there isn't and will never be multiplayer (which Im actually relieved about) but I really love building content. My animation and media arts degree demands it hehe.

Also I think playing nightmare or hard mode may be easier on PC. If you can point and click for movement that would make it much easier to work out straedgy. On the PS3 you open the radial menu (which is your combat pause) and you can move through each character but because you have to run them to a certain place you have to pause, move, pause, move, pause, move. So lets say a rock thrown by a ogre is screaming towards your archer and healer...on the PS3 you can only have 1 get out of the way... not both.

Point and click, drag for multi targets (yes, I can shift select just my range people to run away as my tanky tank runs in) etc. For any and every game with a hint of RTS in it, PC will beat consoles every time without fail.

I can't wait for the mods...

Yea that's what I thought, I asumed it was like all the other games (NWN etc). Damn, guess I may be getting it again for PC haha. Guess that'd make my husband happy tho, he can reclaim his thrown and scepter... er.. couch and PS3 controller heh.

Think I may beat it one last time on the PS3, then let my hubby get his assassins creed and I'll get it again for the PC. Lot of money I know, but it will also allow my husband to actually play his game and Dragon age since I'm hogging the system hardcore right now. I think 40 bucks is worth that and I SOOOOoooOOoo want the development tool.

Once the novelty of running through all the possible scenario's filters away I'll want to code out some modules. I wonder if they're still using C+ for all the coding.... damn it's been awhile...wonder how steep the learning curve is heh. Last time I got a point to where I was building enviroments that would wear down your character as they traveled through the zones based on their stamina (/saves) or if they had "warm" clothes or "desert running" type outfits. It was a great bit of coding in all actuality the multiplayer world I was making was massive and I had some really amazing plot lines built...so sad I never got to complete it. sad.gif I had about 3 alpha testers and 6 beta testers, so I had some people who got to expereience some of the zones at least.

Edit: man I hope user created modules are shareable in some way. I would totally be down for people running my module. If I can hand animated too .....hell I might go so far as to grab a mic and do cut scene's with lipsyncs. ... oooo I'm getting giddy and my minds wrapping around finding my old "world of turmoil" notes and picking a paticular location to build out and let the player run that story line.... .... oooo.... smile.gif

Edit2: omg.. I just talked to my hubby, he's totally down if I use the world he's writting his books in for a campaign module. Heck, I might be buying it for PC tonight, and he'll be getting his assassins creed. /happy dance

I hope the modules work that way. Back in the NWN days I built a win2000 server and ran my NWN server & module off that hosted from home. I suppose there will be a way to have multiple people work on a module and play it all via the internet (but not play it multiplayer). I suppose that will be easier, alot of my biggest trouble with multiplayer zones was getting the mobs to adjust properly based on character lvls, and # of members in the party. The mobs would be to strong or to weak, I had alot of trouble getting the balance right, and honestly there were some zone I could never get to be in the difficulty range I wanted because of the variables...they just became the hard zones.

Last time I did a world for real I did most of the work on it. I had a few friends behind the scene who helped with plot and fight building, and we'd share the module files over the web often. You know, she'd build a town and put the files on the ftp... I'd grab them and tweak out the lighting and abmieance. Then she'd work on the waypoint names for the zone and start building the separate interiors while I started working on the NPC's, interactions, dialog, fights and scenes. And so on and so forth. It worked out well most of the time unless one of us was slacking heh.

I'm more excited that my husband is exited to showcase his world a bit. Tho the world his books are set in has orcs and such. I'm of the hopes that I can reskin and hell remodel creatures.. If so I'll make what his world needs. I'm rusty at 3D modeling but it's something I'll never forget, the concept will never leave me and the skills can be reforged with a bit of practice and trial and error smile.gif

Now that I've successfully derailed us from DragonAge gameplay and onto DragonAge Module buillding... hahah

I'm officially daunted. The level of detail required for that sounds like it would take ages to work out... my artistic ability is lacking to say the least >.< And I can understand balancing issues, but I never really enjoyed games that "Scaled" to your character levels as you played them. Areas should advance at a linear rate, and if I spend the time to "train" my character, that should occur at a less linear rate. Although I always enjoy a game that allows you to level a bit for each area, and you can at times out level one area, but the next will be slightly above your level if you burn through the previous.

I'm sure you can create an algorithm for that easily enough.

I initially had each area linearly spreading out from the starter zone, but later found it just wasn't balanced really. Especially if there was a party, they'd just plow through (was trying to push an RP server not a powergaming one) so I had to work out codeing on all mobs spawn points that would change as much as the player and party lvl did (tho I think I had a cap on it - just enough that lets say it was a lvl 1 zone, they wouldn't get harder than what 5 lvl 1's could kill or 1 lvl 5 could kill). Dragonage does it as well, it doesn't matter what area you go to first after Ostagar Dalish, Dwarves, Tower, Redcliff they all scale based on you, which I really liked, it gave me options biggrin.gif

I'm addicted. Also, the best way to fix most of the glitches on the 360 is to install the game to your hard drive.

I has a berserker/reaver warrior absolute beast strength.

so.... I got it for PC now. hhaha - I downloaded wardens keep for PC and am waiting for it to download and install. Strange that the downloads take crazy longer on my PC to complete than they did on my PS3.

Going to beat it as evil magey and then start fiddling with the toolsets smile.gif

Gotta get used to playing some tho. It's different than on console but better, didn't realize how much I missed overhead play view. I fell right back into the controls, think it's almost identical to NWN2 and NWN1 or at least similar enough I dont feel much of a difference.

biggest difference I feel between console and pc versions is that strangely on console I felt more "in" each fight even tho I had less control. I find myself pausing alot more on PC.
Venine
Completed as both an Elven Blood Mage & just yesterday, a Human 'Zerker.

Now playing through as an Elven Rogue, probably going for Duelist once I find the speciality person. Seems easier, but eh... going for a different group setup too.

Normally have Shale tanking, me & Morrigan on DPS & Wrynne (Or whatever her infernal name is...) Healing. Switched Shale out for Alistair this time, should be... fun.

Augh, beat the dwarven area, but still can't bring down Flemish >.< Not sure what the solution is to this dilemma.

I'm going to just roam around and get random encounters so I can level up now...

Soo I've started learning the toolset smile.gif

It's different that the NWN1 toolset but similar enough. I'm not 100% comfortable with it yet, but if I keep fiddling with it I'll figure it out. Found a few tutorial's on the web as well, if I get really stuck I'll use em.

I'll keep you in the loop Baeron, especially if you interested in giving the mod a good test run or two smile.gif

Here's the blogged adventures of my Mage - I figured out the categories heh so her adventures are seperated to her own..

I started by chaotic mages story.

The blog writes itself tongue.gif Duncan brought me to the base camp, where the princeling is living out his fantasies. He's an ignorant prat.

One of the dog trainers asked for my help, apparently the dogs are stricken with taint and need medicine from the forest. The mission would be perilous. Hearing the plight, I put the dog out of its misery. Made note on medicine for future reference (might make a decent poison?)
