Omg... I know Richard was probably being humorous but... have there been many Richard=Archmage father theories? I know I've seen Richard=Archmage and Richard=Archmage son...

I think we are missing the important fact that Richard is simply melting their swords and not their faces. Clearly Richard has a plan with these people that involves diplomacy

You would think that bubble contained a lot more oxygen than that. Well now we know that he is serious about keeping the bunny.

I know, and I'm sure thats what he meant, but wouldn't that be crazy? It would fit with the "you look familiar" bit, and it would make sense that he wouldn't kill the archmage if he actually cares now. Plus Richard may be THAT old. I'm gonna read through the comic keeping that in mind and see if any little details jump out

Richard does look like a dead version of the archmage but I doubt the bunny is his father. If you remember when they moved the village they also moved Richard's father.

I think he's trying to force the Archmage into revealing himself.

The Sons' swords are khukris. Somebody asked that before, but I don't remember where. The name finally came to me tonight.
I found this part of the wiki entry interesting, given the appearance of the post-fusion Sisters and the bunny idols.
"The kukri also has a religious significance in Hindu religion and is blessed during the Dasain sacrificial festival."




Archbunny sure takes a lot of abuse to see his grand plan accomplished. First Richard uses him as a mount, then he's continually dragged around by an old rotting corpse, gets choked last page and now asphyxiated this page.



That's what I was thinking. Is Richard trying to force Archbunny to reveal himself, or at least reveal that he isn't a normal bunny, which would validate the Sisters' claims and convince Cale of the bunny's importance?

No I was saying Richard being the Archmage's father.

An unlikely thought occurs to me. Perhaps Richard is trying to force Pella to do something instead of the AM. Richard did witness that incident she had with Cake. If she were to intervene, it could put her back in Cale's good graces. AM must have seen something like this coming, and a reveal isn't part of his plan or he would have done it already. He may have given Pella some just in case instructions.

That sounds likely. There is alot more that this page is lining up than just 'Richard fighting sisters for Bunny'. Something big is about to happen and it involves bunny in the bubble (I'm leaning towards forced reveal), or they wouldn't have put such a big deal about the fact that bunny was choking, cause it happens all the time...

oh ok I also doubt that but there is also the possibility that he is Richards brother... a very slight possibility...

Hmmm. Richard is not outright killing them, which means that he has a plan. That could mean that he wants to force the Archmage to reveal himself for the phony he is, or he wants to keep the Sisters alive to help the Archmage's plans come to fruition--possibly so he can destroy the whole shebang later, himself. The reasons for his helping the Archmage are still unknown, so without fully knowing his reasoning, we can only speculate exactly what he's planning to do.

But we know that Richard is great at screwing up the Archmage's plans, so far. Curious to see how this one turns out.

Edit: As for Richard's relation to the Archmage, well, I have my own theories about that.

I don't know. Richard doesn't seem like the type to wait until all of Archmage's plans come together and THEN messing things up, but it could be. I certaily dont think he is helping Archmage. The only way that could happen was if they were in fact related and there was a strong bond between them.

Yeah, the forced reveal is basically inevitable at this point. If Pella knows about the bunny, she'll probably intervene; if she doesn't, the AM has to show himself. Either way, I think my "Richard is tormenting the Archmage on purpose" theory is going to be proven.

Also, the bunny is just adorable cuddling up to Richard in the first panel. Can I get an AWWWW?

I think the archmage may be going to reveal himself just in order to get some air.

How can we be sure that the archmage actually has to be in human form to use his crazy abilities? He might as well dispell Richards spell while still in bunny form. A magic battle between Dick and the bunny would be hilarious... ^^

Ok, with this comic, I realize that Sohmer (licd character) and Richard are exactly the same. They both go on rampaging tangents, they both pull out successful impossible feats at any given moment (and their chaos is always fully plotted and expected), all with childlike glee, but a malicious violence simultaneously.

Same people, two different worlds.

Hilarious twist in this current situation though, I love the bunny's expression!

I think it's Cale's comments with Archbunny right next to him for the visual aspect of the comedy that are killing me.

Also, Richard's look of, "My bunny" as he's melting the Son's kukiris is just adorable in a kind of "touch the bunny and I'm going to rip your kidneys out" kind of way.

And why does everyone always use what Richard says, even if it isn't funny like now, as the title of the thread? I would think "Living things need to breathe" would be a better title.

So why is it everyone is so quick to drop theroies when it comes to this comic? Everyone immediately jumps to AM revealing himself or Pella intervening? Did everyone forget Tah'Vraay walking in the last panel Thursday already and just drop any chance of her intervening? Just a imo but I think there would be a better chance for her to intervene than Pella since Pella is still non-exsistant in this part of the story so far. Of course I could be totally wrong but thats the fun thing about theories.

My only problem with people bringing up theories is those people who don't bother reading the topic before posting and post a theory that's already been covered 5 times.

New theory: The bunny is faking. That is why he turned blue so quick, he realized he had to look like he was suffocating, but didn't know how long it should take. After all, he's an arch mage; if he can turn himself into a cute little bunny at will, I'm sure he can survive without O2 for a while.

Lousy theory, but at least it is a new one.

I'm betting its because Richard did actually put some gas in the bubble, unfortunately the gas is not oxygen, its helium and its quickly forcing the air out of the Bunny's lungs, that could explain why he's turning blue so fast.
