Lol last year it took me five months to write 48k words but in the last four months I've written a grand total of 220k words.
Rayne
Okay so apparently a stray cat is good inspiration.

._.

Edit: PS Ryan, Jonath, what sns do you have on nanowrimo, if any?

sns = Screen Names.

Sorry.

I believe I am a sad individual... ever since I started this, I appeared to have gained newer and better ideas for a story, stop, write a new one... *sigh* It's a repetitive cycle. So, now, I have HOPEFULLY landed on a better story that I pray I can finish... there were many sacrifices, yes, but I think, like giving a human heart (still beating, mind) to an Aztec god, it was totally worth it... if not to laugh at the dying man whose heart you just recently removed. Anywho, aside from my dark and grizzly humor (which I am totally laughing about right now), I am writing on a story that I have been wanting to write for a very long time (but never got the time to do so). So, if I don't finish it this month, I'll continue onward with it and hopefully finish it in the near future... I pray I don't turn into Robert Jordan or J.R.R. Tolkien.

...To the novel! >=O
Redington
Hmm. totally forgot about this.

Though, I don't think I would've had much time to write a novel this month anyway because I need to get my school work done pretty much by the end of the month.
Rayne
I... I might actually finish this! Oh my god!

Really?! Oh gods, continue! Finish, finish, finish! ^^

Yeah, I'm totally in on this.

I remember last year, I found out about it and joined a week in and finished in with 50k on the 30th.

Damn o.O
Rayne
I've come so close... SO CLOSE!

...and yet I still have 20,000 words to go. SHIT.
Barbarian At The Gate
Wish I'd noticed this in early November. I'm confident I can't write 50k words by end of the month.
Rayne
15,000 to go!

Edit: 13,000!

Weasilish
I totally did this. The book isn't finished, (yet) but I've written more for one story than ever before in my life. biggrin.gif Very very happy making.

(oh and hi everyone, I's a noob. ^^ )

She should post it in the fanfic section.

Yes, yes. I concur.

Congrats to everyone who managed to hit the 50K mark and beyond. I also congratulate all of you who managed to get close or at least got farther than you had ever hoped, even if it's not very close to the 50K mark. As for myself, I had not won and I had not managed to get anywhere beyond 1K. Reason being was that my other *ahem*priorities*ahem* had pulled me away, along with my interest for something more in-depth. Sadly, my muse was not singing throughout the duration of November until the end of the month (hence the reason why I created an unorthodox RP, for those of you who ever go into the RP Section). I apologize, Rayne, for not being competent enough for that little race of yours. Also, congrats to you. Kudos ^^

As a question, I must ask... is not being satisfied with the first idea you had and scrapping it (or rearranging it) a sign of being a perfectionist? Seems like it, but I'm not quite honestly sure.

Back on topic... I pray that we can all do this again next year (and hopefully my muse can begin singing yet again). Again, congratulations to everyone who succeeded in someway and/or manner.

...off topic again, I feel foolish for not using this RP of mine as a basis of a story. It has fully enthralled me. *sigh* It must've been writers block or something. Ah well.

So! Does this remain open for future purposes? Such as plans for the next NaNoWriMo or extra hype for next year? Hrm... I suppose this is all up for Kay or G to handle... or Zoran... to deal with.

Again, kudos to everyone and good luck for everyone else next year! ^^

Ideas evolve. If your story is a good one it should breathe and change along with you. In retrospect I look back on my failed attempts at previous stories and see there was a reason they failed. I salvaged the strengths of the stories and transplanted them into new stories.
You're not a perfectionist most likely, you probably just realized the idea was weak or that you didn't know what the story would become.

But... but it's not done yet (I think it might hit 70k by the end) and I haven't edited or anything... O_O

Plus, it might suck and I just don't know it yet.

To be honest 90% of the stuff in the fanfic section sucks. The part of my first book I posted there is a first draft of the story which in retrospect kinda sucks. And when I'm done with my second book I'll look back at the fragments I posted in the Fanfic section and feel the same way.
Just post the first few chapters to gauge a response. If you're lucky you'll get constructive criticism.

Yes, but you guys are people I LIKE and if you see me having created something that sucks I'd never get over it. =/

I'm a bit embarrassed by my novel sample at this point. Go ahead read it and see how many passive sentences there are, not to mention horrid punctuation.
I guarantee you I'll try my best to be honest yet supportive with my reviews if you post something.

Oh please, I sincerely doubt that it sucks. I bet it's great. If you don't want to post it though, I guess I won't say anything more about it...
