Does anyone remember that Richard incinerated a cute little bunny in the first comic in this series to show Cale what true evil is?
Kind of ironic considering the current situation I think.

Chekov's Bunny. Perhaps the Bunny will reveal itself later as the true Bunny God (the one who the AM is just impersonating) and will want revenge on both Richard and the Archmage. Also the kid who got away will be the Bunny God's Champion. In the end there will be an epic battle with Richard and the Archmage back to back against an endless horde of demonic bunnies. I'd watch that movie laugh.gif

He also killed a bunny in Slaughter Your World, the difference is they weren't his bunnies.

True story, all bunnies are really just tiny manifestations of a single omnipotent Bunny God at the center of all creation. His crest inspired the founders of Mitsubishi.

Anyone else here having a bit of a Watership Down moment.
The Bunny
no, I'm rather thinking of Sarda and Onion kid. Would be a hell of a turnout...

I'd watch a film called Demonic Rabbits. wink.gif
Which reminds me:
Has anyone else seen Night of the Lepus? It's a cheesy old 'horror' movie, about giant rabbits terrorizing a town. In several shots, it's painfully obvious that they used normal rabbits hopping around cardboard doll-houses, with the camer lens angled up from the floor. biggrin.gif
Rurik
I rememer that one, also remember the Killer Shrews. laugh.gif What can I say, I love B Movies.

bunnies are terrifying.

When i was younger my mother told me that the bunny in our back yard's name was fritz. I thought fritz was cute until i saw all twenty fritz' sitting there staring at me through the glass door to my room. If i ever felt unsafe in my own house it was then.

And yes i was just paranoid, a raccoon had tipped over a the compost, and they were eating the rotting veggies, but it was still the most terrifying experience of my life.

Hahahaha, that's awesome.

I had a pet lop-eared rabbit named Noel. Whenever we let it outside it would run off and hide in the Holly Bushes and when we tried to grab it (wading through the prickly Holly Bushes) it'd growl at us. Bet you didn't know bunnies could growl. Like Mad-dogg growling too.

In the immortal words of a robot from 1000 years in the future...

"That's not ironic, that's just coincidental."

Sorry, but ever since I saw that episode of Futurama, it's kind of made me pause at the use of the word "ironic". tongue.gif
Jonath
Ironic has been an over-used word since the early 90's.

Isn't that when the song "Isn't it Ironic" came out?

Fun fact: that song contains exactly zero instances of irony. laugh.gif

Back on topic.

At the point that Richard fwooshed that first bunny, I don't think they had everything completely planned out with what they were going to do. I'm pretty sure Lar has talked about the whole reason they kept the bunny around with the group was because he liked drawing the bunny. When it came time that they needed to do something dramatic with the Archmage, he and Sohmer said, "Let's just use the bunny".

That said, I never liked the people that assumed that Richard liked bunnies in general, and there have been several to say it. He likely knew there was something off about this specific rabbit as soon as he got back to his normal form and power (seeing as he was Li'l Dick at the time of their first meeting).
Jonath
Its certainly true that they probably didn't have anything really profound planned for the Bunny at first. But there's nothing quite like taking a little throwaway plot point from the beginning and then smacking the reader with it far down the line, making them think it was planned from the very beginning.
Ronin Drake
Oh no. It's definitely true that they didn't have anything planned for the bunny. Lar said so himself in an interview or on a Ustream or something like that.

Your idea is also somewhat used in reverse regarding the Sword of Truth. laugh.gif

yeah the bunny i think was supose to be there just to be there and to be funny so yeah lol

Maybe the bunnies ashes were mixed in with Cale's and they were somehow revived as separate entities. Or maybe not and Cale had to poop him out a later date.

Bunnies can purr, too, and they can also be trained to use a litterbox. I not only used to have one (for a short time), I spoke with someone who raised them. The growl, well, I think almost every living creature has one, in one or another form.

I remembered enough about Night of the Lepus to actually mention it in a couple of places, the last couple of days. Do you know if MST3k ever hit on it? Due to technical difficulties, I missed a couple of seasons of the show, including when TV's Frank was Assumed into Heaven by the angel Torgo. Have no idea if it was generic or Sidekick Heaven, though. Anyway, Night of the Lepus is one of those movies that sometimes cropped up on late night UHF channels, especially if they ran emceed monster movie shows.

Ah, only semi related... I've always called my daughter Bunny Terror, or Terror for short. It's sort of a mutation of Baby Bunny and Holy Terror. Of course, now that she's 26, it embarrasses the Hell out of her, so... I use it anyway. What's the fun of being a parent, if you can't embarrass your young goat, sometimes.
