Anyone else see a Benny/Tah'vray sit down on the matter of Cale's avaiability.

Here's hopping Richard uses another cat based example.

That or Benny decking Tah'vray when she makes a move then grabbing Cale and declaring "He's mine!"

just for the record who ever didnt know they were going to worship the bunny go back and re-read the entire comic ok all the way from page 1 and this time pay attention
'Ello Guv'ner
I knew they did that anyway and i still go back and read it all again to kill time sometimes, when i really have time on my hands and nothing to do i re-read 8-bit theater

Still I'm surprised the blue elves are just worshiping archbunny instead of trying to get it away from a warlock who kills stuff for shits and giggles...

Something tells me their lord, quite possibly the most powerful mage of all time, doesn't have much to fear from a warlock.

I didn't see this up, so here you go.

Really NOW, ok I'm happy the blue guys are alive and well (as I predicted). Bah destroyed fortification not a clear sign.

But really! Richard is a Lord now. You don't suppose he was one of them while alive do you?

Who wants to bet they're bowing to the bunny?

I give good odds~

I think both Richard and Carrot have good odds of surprising us for sure with the next comic.

Odds are high it is the bunny, but then again the bunny's "undercover" for the Kenethica Conspiracy, and well...we all know what he really is, and everyone has been speculating his "relation" to Richard. Plus if the elves blow his cover, he my not be happy about that.
Richard is formerly "Lord Ashendale" and to be honest, sounds almost like a Nightelf-ish name to me. Maybe he was one of them back in his living years.

And on that note...has Richard fwooshed any Nightelves? He's killed just about everything else, including sea creatures, but I don't seem to recall the fwooshing of nightelves... O_o
'Ello Guv'ner
yes but the sisters banished Richard to the plain of suck, so how can they be bowing to him now as their lord? surly they would have bowed then as well...
Antarus
Besides, Richard fwooshed some sisters before. After all, he's no stranger to love...
Loss_Theif
I see a big flaw in the Blelfs' logic. How the hell do they tell the difference between their God-Bunny and a regular Bunny? Seriously, that's like having a dude with long brown hair as your Earthly God, you'd flip out and start bowing every time you saw a stoner.

Props to everyone else who predicted an illusion.
Yeah for the first time I find myself in agreement with BoLE. I think Richard and the Archmage, while not necessarily the same person are two sides of the coin with the Archmage being the idealist and Richard being the cynic. And honestly the jury's still out on which one's more evil. (I mean sure Richard kills things all the time but when has he ever manipulated so many innocent people?)
I doubt Tah'vraay will be very enthusiastic about Bunny worship. She'll probably tell the elves to get back to work or something.

You sure it was an illusion? I suppose it could have been, but it looks more like they just came out of the forest to me. Not that it really matters in the least bit.

Maybe they can sense the magic in him? Would be a good explanation to why Tah'vraay ignored him at first due to her lack of magical skill. Also, like the irony ya did there.

Hrm, well so much for the external hive mind idea. Okay, I've got no clue on just what the hell the "Fusion" was then, as far as I can tell it just made the bald chicks into pointy eared Blue Man Group rejects. dry.gif

That is the most hilarious blue man group joke/thingy ive ever seen! biggrin.gif
Hurricane Islandheart
Oh, come on. tongue.gif The sisters are SO PRETTY, regardless if their skin is blue or peach.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the sisters gave up something of themselves when the sons left, and that this "fusion" was simply a case of regaining that part of themselves when the sons returned. The sons spent whatever buttlong time in exile under the dungeons, so they must have had some extra advantage to help them survive.

FelBunny, FTW. wub.gif

Anyone think he is losing it? well. the writers.
the new page with richard "someone drop somthing? i'm not helping" seems. a little off.
it doesn't sound like him.

anyone?
ehkneebreeashun
yep. it's the bunny. Remember many moons ago when after the mother blue elf had spoken to Cale and sent him to find her daughter? They all started praying to a shrine with giant bunny statue.

Considering the huge bunny statue that you saw when Cale first went to the sisters, this isn't entirely unexpected.

In fact, it makes sense. But don't forget, that big bunny statue had... a golden pillaging shovel! *gasp*

I'm inclined to agree with Miss-Psycho-B' who thinks it's an arrow...

But if it is a shovel... maybe Richard has a little God in him?

I know for a fact Richard has a little god in him, he had him for breakfast last Thursday off panel. tongue.gif

Ahh, so Cale's blue alter-ego is called "Belchion"!
I wonder if there is any significance in the fact that he has a Goatee? (Well it's not really a goatee, but still)

Anyway, it seems as though Archbunny is about to make his reveal to the crew!

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Sure, they have more differences than just the skin, but they look pretty freaking similar.

I think the fusion worked by tossing all of them into a washing machine and the blue rubbed off of the sons and stained the sisters.

People tell me he's hilarious but I haven't laughed at one of his jokes in a long time...
The problem is that much of his humor seems to derive from the fact that he's Richard and the fans find him funny either way so Sohmer may not try as hard anymore.
But I don't read it to laugh at Richard's antics I read the comic for the story.

Ha, that's a definitely a interesting way of looking at it, i think the fusion was actually giving the sons a bit of magic (which made them all look a bit more girly) and the sisters got a bit more physical strength (which made them blue)
Beron
"Fusion" may also refer to fused philosophies, though that would be a heck of a short philosophical council.

That's lame though. Why not call it a synthesis of ideas then?
Besides philosophies generally don't "fuse".
'Ello Guv'ner
While I'm interested in philosophy i have to agree that it really is too dull a thing to be called something like 'Fusion,' i still think that it was a crossing of attributes from both groups
Jonath
Something definitely happened, some physical change as seen in the sisters but it really was lame considering the use of the term fusion.

I, personally, see the significance in the fact that Krunch has stopped using his nickname for Cale. Might be nothing, but what comes to mind was when he was ridiculing his brother for taking orders from the Elf.

Yeah, he didn't call Cale 'Pinky' on this page like he used to.

QUOTE (Suntiger @ Oct 12 2009, 12:23 PM) *
I'm also inclined to agree with Bag o' ears that the archmage and Richard have a connection of some kind. How extensive I'm not sure, but it seems it is significant and it might explain why Richard hasn't killed any of the group yet (ignoring that early incineration of Cale).

I agree with that aswell.
Evil Monkey
Phhh. Like any of us were actually fooled by that destroyed temple thing.

Now, this looks fun. Wonder where this is leading to. My money's on the Archmage being found out by one or more group members.

Definitely a bit anti-climactic whatever happened considering the build up, no earth shattering aura of power, no booming proclamation to the legion that their lives are forfeit issued by each and every elf simultaneously, didn't even get a badass fight scene. Would have expected something a bit more dramatic than a makeover and a presumed increase in power.

They have a giant statue of a bunny that they worship. They call that bunny their lord. The bunny is, in fact, a powerful time travelling mage. They've seen Richard many times before and never made a fuss.

Yep, I'll take that bet. I've just got a feeling about it, y'know?

And I shall challenge your bet on the precedence that it would be amusing if both Richard AND the bunny were their "Lord."

Blue Elves to Richard and Archmage: Don't you see? We love you both! Don't make us choose!

Richard's reply "Fear not, you don't need to choose, I'll do it for you... THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!" Richard fwooshes the Archmage, lightning strikes Richard, infusing him with all the power of the Archmage, and thus concludes the saga of Dicklander.

Nah, look at how he greets Tah'vraay - a warrior's handclasp (and a big thank you Lar, for drawing it correctly! smile.gif).
Cale doesn't seem to have any romantic interest in her, he's just happy to see her and the others after he thought they were dead or gone after he was too late again. Comrade in arms connection rather than romantic.

Ugh, spare me the drama please. You've played too many RPG's or watched too much anime, m'lad. wink.gif
Besides, what do you mean not earth shattering?
In addition, I think the full implications of what the fusion means have been deliberately held back for plot reasons. It might not be fully revealed until they reach Kethencia. I also think it might be less bombastic and more tied up with preserving lore, history and knowledge, of both Kethencia and their people.

Btw, why is anyone surprised or think it's significant that there's an elf that resembles Cale among the Sons? Haven't you ever heard of body doubles, or been told "You know, you look just like [insert friend or relative]". People often look like other people, nothing strange in that.
