Speaking of pacing and the creators reading the forum.
Since Sohmer prides himself on always updating his comics on time it makes sense that the plot it written and planned out way in advance and that there is a buffer of pages already made in case there's any trouble.
Ergo, I really doubt this last few pages have been affected by any fan reactions - they've much more likely been planned for a few months or weeks and finished a week or a few days or so before they're even posted.
i agree. and even if they didn´t plan/produce ahead: it´s never a good idea to react to the fans´ expectations. it might look like it would help for some time, but will lead to ultimate failure. you need to think your story through, plan out the developments, in short, tell the story you want to tell, not the story people want you to tell.
that´s why i´m very wary of all this "audience testing" that goes on in the film biz. think if they´d had that, "casablanca" would have gotten the unhappy ending which ultimately helped make the film a classic?
so: i´m hoping sohlar know what they want to tell us. i also hope i´ll like it. but i don´t want them to change a planned storyline just because i´m whining about it.

I think Richard's really angry at Cale for not killing Benny. Imagine how dissapointed he must have looked seeing her alive and well...
If not angry, certainly confused...
And I thought the "DIE" card was a touch sentimental for the Bloodrage... *grins*

That hardly means anything,
I'd carry around a Richard doll if I had one.

AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF THEIR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS (fifth panel):
Krunch: Bwah?!
Pella: Wait... what?
Benny: Wat.

Love it! I absolutely love the 5th panel, right down to the "blink blink." Also, I'm not convinced there's much to worry about considering the ratio of dead Legarans compared to dead Blelfs....

That means nothing, at any large scale battle of that nature you'd see a large number of corpses from both sides. In fact as someone astutley pointed out earlier the fact that there are bodies from both sides means that most likely neither side won a clear victory. And if the Mist Elves (that's my name for them) won then they must be in a hurry to escape because they didn't clean up their dead. Somehow I doubt its another illusion.

Technically you can't say there's "bodies" from both sides. That implies plural and there is only one Blelf body.

Just because you don't see more doesn't mean there aren't more. When Cale gets over the hill he'll probably see an entire field of corpses.

Shiny temple that made a sunlit day look comparatively darkened is no longer shiny.

I wonder if this was forseen by the Archmage, or if it's another of those things that was not meant to happen but now has.

The question is, whose corpses?

It'd be really cool if the Elves trounced the Legion but put down an illusion spell to make some of the Legion corpses look like their corpses and such to hide the fact and make the Legion think everyone died.

We could always get an official head count.

I marked it on my calendars, so that's one.

Wouldn't October 8th be after his Death Day considering Cale missed it? Also I doubt the LFG world has the same Calendar as we do.

Yeah imagine seeing Cale crying and moping about failing again while Richard heaps on snide little remarks because he feels shafted while Benny gets ready to rip his head off only to be stunned by the appearance of the Sisters and Sons who have been hiding the entire time just so they could see Cale whine. Afterwards Cale looses his cool and lets out a tirade of f-bombs that offends even Richard's ears.
I doubt that will happen but its fun to think of.

One way or another, I'd say the battle is over. This is based on the lack of soldiers to be seen (well, lack of living ones that is). So my guess would be that the sons and daughters are inside the temple, recovering from the battle. While possible that the legion won and are either in the temple themselves or have moved on, I find this unlikely since we haven't gotten to see the belfs in action yet.

That or Sohmer really loves having virtually every important moment occur off-panel.

I realize this is a tad nitpicky, but where are Cale's wounds from Benny's tusk thingee? Didn't they do a bit of smooching? I would expect to see a tiny trickle of blood at least, if not a half-dozen puncture wounds near his mouth...

Cale: So could you take care of these maybe? *points to two large holes in his gums left by Benny's tusks*
Benny: No
Cale: Why not?
Benny: Because everyone has to know exactly where I've been!
Cale: This isn't a relationship I'll ever be able to leave is it?
Benny: Nope.
