Full Version: In other news, I just lost what little respect I had for my university...

They put ads up on their little, "direct 2 learn" site, which basically is a tool allowing me to take online quizzes at home, download assignments, store, then upload completed assignments back to my professors. Wonderful tool.

They have just added advertisements (I'm not sure if that's a pun or not) to a site I'm required to use. You'd think that after paying 2k+ a semester, and a good 600$ in books, they'd squeezed enough money out of me. But now I have to stare at life insurance ads in order to pass my classes.

Isn't it just a lovely world we live in? I cannot find one place free of adds for 5 minutes of peace.

/end rant

(at least here the adds blend in nice, I'm glad I have one refuge...)

Oh, believe me, you're not alone.

I have a huge rant about my local college. Almost complete apathy towards the students covers just about every problem I've had with their administration, so much so I quit and wrote a long complaint letter, which was ignored, along with other concerns and questions I posed. They seem to care more about their image and ranking. They're catering to rich kids more and more, slowly squeezing out the not-so-affulent with crap like a fancy dormitory that cost about $13,000 to live in for one school year (over a thousand bucks a month for a dorm room?!)

They're trying to be "The Harvard of the Midwest", as my uncle put it.
I'll leave it at that so I don't go off on a rampage again.

They will of course fail, the words Harvard and Midwest are antonyms laugh.gif

Gothic, he does mention that there are ads here, saying they blend in much better.

Second, I'm not sure how much it counts if the one I'm seeing is for the LFG store. tongue.gif
