So i've been looking around and i've seen alot of comics. LFG being the best i've read so far.
And i wonder, how are they made? Are they made by hand? By programs? What in that case?
I'm curious.

I'm not sure exactly but if its like most modern artistry then Lar probably makes the base sketches by hand and maybe adds in some color before doing the rest on computer.

That was what i guessed. But getting the height and shape of the same character 290 times must be a god damn annoyance. Trying to learn to draw by hand right now. Art for my books.

He draws the whole thing on a Tablet. He sketches out the basic outline, then goes over and does the lines, then sometimes / usually a second set of lineart, adding more detail in. Then the colouring & then just the finishing touches, like shading & maybe some more detail / line emboldening. I've probably got that mostly in the wrong order, but hey.

I forget the programs, but he usually shows you on his Ustream that he does every Friday, well, usually every Friday around 8PM EST.

I also think that this post belongs in the Comic section, but hey... I hope it helps.

I watched his Ustream a few times out of interest & he was usually doing Lineart or colouring on the LFG for Monday. These days I'm not sure what he does, but a lot of requests seem to get churned out lately, including some very nice eye candy of a naked Pella, Benny & the Cap'ain herself tongue.gif.

He records his Ustream sessions. You can visit his Ustream channel and watch while listening to him answer questions and chat with his audience. Watch a couple of those and he'll answer probably every question you have about the comic.

Or at least everything about how the comic is made. Naturally he won't answer anything that would spoil the plot.
