yeah, i think a thread like this is still needed, since the other ones have all been closed. i´m comparatively new here, so i´ll be humble about it, but i couldn´t help noticing a certain sensitiveness of the mods concerning going off-topic. hence the subtitle of this thread.
i, at leat, promise to be good.
so, to start: now that sohlar decided to make a scene change i have the sneaky suspicion that the cale/benny thing will be a one-time-only affair. we might not even see it mentioned again. could it be? i, for one, would regret it, but i´m prepared for the possibility.
over to you, guys!

I too think that it will be a one time thing, especially, because of what benny said.
And I've been wondering about her shirt...
Did cale have any trouble getting it off?
Was it held by sheer will power, and thus, when benny let go, it dropped to the floor?

I doubt it will be a one time thing. It will probably be mentioned next time we transition back to the group, then the comic will probably be back to the way it was, with cale and benny being a bit more affectionate towards eachother

Benny's a shaman. I always figured that her shirt/vest was enchanted garb. One that also counts as armor; similar to the midriff-baring clothing Gabrielle wore in the later seasons of Xena: Warrior Princess. Even while she was in the middle of a hostile country, she was a sharp blade away from disembowelment.

Well, when people post in a Cale + Benny topic and repeatedly talk about Wolverine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Deadpool and other stuff that isn't Cale + Benny, those topics tend to get closed. They were Cale + Benny topics, that's what folks should've been discussing; kinda defeats the purpose otherwise.
C'mon, we're not asking that much:
Stay on topic so everything's fairly organized and not repeated dozens of times in dozens of topics,
don't be an offensive jerk,
don't double post if you can avoid it (It happens a lot, I won't yell at you if it's accidental, I'll just delete the extra posts),
don't post just for the sake of posting something - put in some good content that contributes to the discussion.
I'm not really surprised Sohmer left off where he did with their relationship. Actually, I was expecting it. He does love to toy with us. I expect he'll let us stew for a couple of weeks before continuing to explore their relationship.
At the same time, I also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't actually have sex or fool around at all beyond that kiss. I can see Cale pushing her away because he's afraid he'll come to care for her too much and she'll be in danger because she's his girl (like Harry originally did to Ginny in the HP series), or maybe he's determined to stay focused on his goal and not let romance get in the way for the time being. As to the "hurting her" noises, they could have been sparring, or maybe they were attacked.
Let me say I don't expect the above to come true. I'm just saying Sohmer loves to mess with us and I wouldn't even raise an eyebrow if he pulled that on us. Of course, he'd probably have a riot on his hands if he did...

Yes there was no hanky panky, just a bunch of Ninjas that they fought off. And then afterward there was hanky panky.

I'm not really sure Cale would have the forethought to consider that a relationship might threaten his mission. As noble as he is he isn't the type to think things over, he's a passionate guy and besides Benny probably anticipated the possibility he would refuse and so she bound him with the branches of the tree.

Didn't mean that to sound like I was biting your head off. I wasn't, it was just ranting in general about the topics. I regretted closing them for the very reason you listed, but when people aren't using them for their intended purpose even after being asked to stick to the discussion at hand...well, then it's usually time to start over.
I didn't know it was referred to as Peter Parker Syndrome.

Well, I never was a big fan of Spider-Man anyway. Or TV Tropes.
I'm betting it's
not a one-night stand. Cale doesn't seem the type to have random casual sex for stress relief. Benny does, but considering how she now feels about Cale, I doubt it's just a fling.

Benny's a damaged girl because of her fiance dying so she's in less a position to have a meaningless fling than Cale is. Perhaps if she was just shacking up with some handsome stranger that caught her fancy I could understand it but we're talking about Cale here, the leader of the group and probably the only non-familial man that Benny has any respect for. Its safe to say she's in it for the long haul.

I agree. My whole fear about this relationship is, as good as Sohlar are; that they would not be able to keep the relationship as only a minor aspect of teh plot. I am fine with it as long as it doesn't take over. I have said that from the beggining. There is nothing bad with a relationship, just 99% of the time it becomes too big a part of the story

YOu know what frued's interpretation of the overprotective father thing was? It was that the father was jelous of the person he was protecting the daughter from, and that the father actually wanted to sleep with the daughter he was protecting. Yep. Freud said that. So, if Krunch gets really protective, its because he wants to sleep with Benny. If you thought elf/green-thingy was bad... think about green-thingy/bloodrage. Ew.

And Freud was a crack head.
As much as I'd love the drama created by jamming the new twist to the relationship down our throats, I'm in agreement with those against it. The fluff would detract from this comic.

That's assuming they have a culture where a daughter is considered 'defiled' just because she's had sex with someone.
Personally I think that's a slightly sick notion. A woman isn't suddenly 'dirty' and worth less just because she's had sex with someone.
Granted, Ray'd or Krunch might make some threatening noises about treating Benny right to Cale, but that's different.
