I'm not sure any were sent to the siege, since that is (up to now anyway) a very stationary point that doesn't need much in the way of air mobility.

Anyway, I'm both disappointed and happy about today's panel. The lamer in me wanted more Cale and Benny goodness, but this, as Suntiger said, just goes to show that the "romance" or whatever it turns out to be, didn't take over the plot. Which is good. The story goes on, and the Cale+Benny thing will be revisited again, the question is only when and how. I don't mind waiting. I'd enjoy being surprised again.

As for the thing hatching out of the temple from the fusion.... I'm going for ginormous balloon giraffe.

I find it ironic that first people complain about how they think the c+b relationship is gonna take over the strip, and now there are complaints when they cut back to the story. Just can't please people I guess.


Really the only build up and tension where from us, the members of the forum. Not really anything building tension in the comic as far as I'm concerned. Admittedly, I am curious just what exactly is the deal with the c+b relationship, but I can wait.

As for what the golden thing that is appearing, at first I thought it might be the bunny statue too. But if it is, it would have to be a different one than we saw before. Since that statue appears to be Jade rather than golden. I suppose it could be an egg, but not really confident enough to make suggestions. Whatever it is, I hope it kicks some major ass in the next strip or two.

I admit I was too lazy to check myself...
So, they do have dragons. In that case the Legara forces have a very good opportunity to attack or follow the Sons and Sisters.

It's possible that the fusion will allow the Son/Sis mages to go on the offensive and I think they need to, even if it's just a 'flyby'. Just escaping without a delaying tactic of some kind (the Legara supply lines! *hint hint*) is a dangerous proposition unless they are fast enough to outfly the dragons.
The Legara general has shown that he is both a skilled and efficient commander, which makes him a very dangerous foe.
One of the most dangerous times will be when everyone gets to Kethencia (if they do) but before they are organized and settled in. They will be quite uncoordinated and vulnerable then.


As for the Cale/Benny part, I'd like a few more strips to get a bit more distance to it, but the feeling I'm getting is that the handling and pacing of them getting together was handled very well from a narrative point of view.
It was both blatant and low key at the same time, giving them both some depth and adding another dimension to the groups' dynamic without making it a major point of the story.

And of course people will complain or argue either way you go.
Note that the ones that were worried about the romance aren't the same ones that now want to see more.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of Cale and Benny together but I don't mind, indeed I approve, the way it has been handled here. I think it mainly will be shown in the way they interact in the group with only the occasional dip into more specific romance pages.

Usually a fanbase split means its close, as we saw from the poll about 20% (of course this doesn't account for non forum users) don't like it while a whoping 80% are in favor of it. That's less a schism and more like a peasant revolt if you ask me
@Suntiger: If you're referring to Commander Jack Kirby (My name for him, there's a resemblance) he's missing at the moment and with him goes a lot of Legara's cred. I mean outside of him and a bunch of offscreen victories on Aelloon's part Legara hasn't done much without the Dwarves' help.

Cale and/or Benny trying to explain to Richie what they were doing seems like it would be just super amusing. My head summons up an image of Richard in a girly flailing-hands pose, saying "Ewwwwwwwww!!!!", possibly just to taunt Cale. However, plot advancement is always great.
