This topic is a generally for Halloween stuff.
Feel free to tell us what's going on.

As for me, I have 2 major parties to go on. And I actually feel like trick or treating this year. But I'm still undecisive for what to wear. I'm also planning on going to "Hall-o-Scream" this year (a special thing that a theme park does each year)

Once I figure out what I'm going to wear I'll post it up here.
Heartcease
i looove halloween, and wish it was a month long event...friends are throwing a party, and i'm going as something cute this year...for as long as i can remember i've been something dark (wonder woman (dark haired fine) catra, black cats, witches, dark faeries)...this year, i'm going as little bo peep, and my husband is my black sheep (costume was on buycostumes.com, looks like a punk sheep)...i was going to get a blonde wig, but as i have dark skin, i think it might look too weird so i'm not decided...and this is my first halloween in my house, so i'm hoping to get my first trick or treaters...i'm getting the good candy and everything biggrin.gif

Even though I'm fifteen me and my friends always go we ,love free candy, though i need good costume ideas because my only idea is gorrila with a shotgun but its not the best i ever came up with. Other than that I'm not sure if there is going to be parties but probably.
Mourning Madness
Halloween is not really celebrated that much here. I mean, the stores have in the recent years tried to sell it, but so far they haven't gotten very far with it. There'll be scary moves on the tv, some children dressed up, but that's about it. Atleast around where I live.

Personally I have plans with a good friend to gorge on sweets and watch scary movies. Maybe dress up for fun, since we can. wink.gif
ryannayr417
The day before Halloween I'm dressing as Pac-Man while my friends go as the ghosts. We're gunna put pellets on the walls and a Power Pellet in the occasional classroom so while my friends are chasing me I can grab one and have them turn blue so I chase them. I'm gunna load some Pac-man music onto my laptop and invest in some speakers, though the hard-ass of a principal will probably try to take them.
Jesse
I'm going to go as Jack Skellington.
Heartcease
i love jack smile.gif i always get a white pumpkin and paint it as his head...also for halloween, i watch scary movies all october...new ones, old ones...mostly really bad ones, they make me laugh and i like to cheer for the bad guys...
Angel/Demon
It's time for me to play Nightmare Before Christmas all month long happy.gif

I don't generally dress up...or...do anything. I think a few people said they're going to make me go to parties this year, though. Something about it being sad that I sit at home on Haloween. TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE WHEN MY FAMILY DOESN'T CELEBRATE IT. >.> <.< >.>
Devin Austra
I have no idea.

Halloween is on a Saturday this year, so I'll have the day off, and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Hopefully I'll be hanging around with my cousin; she usually has somewhere to go or something to do, and knows lots of people.
I have all sorts of costume props (including a couple of these knives) but no actual costume. sad.gif
I would still love to have this leather cloak, but it was sold by a catalog several years ago and there's practically no chance I'll find one.
Shnezz
I'll probably spend the time up to halloween devising something to scare anyone who comes to my house... It's amusing, in a horrible fashion.
Novalyyn
Provided things work out, I'll be dressing up (I need to figure out my costume yet though, prolly something to match one of the masks I've made), marching in a little Halloween parade (and hopefully winning some monies! XD ), and trick-or-treating with a friend I've not seen in awhile.

I don't care if I'm almost legal drinking age, I want to dress up and get free candy! D:<
Bastyaan
Batman says: We do not celebrate Halloween here.

WE have a way better holiday: Saint Martens. Same thing, without the costume crap and the consumerism.
Nilly
I don't think I'm doing anything this year, because my mom hates Halloween for some reason even she is unaware of. She says I'm too old for Halloween and so is my brother; but I LOVE Halloween! It's practically my Christmas! I just love dressing up and freaking people out. I also like the concept of costumes. I don't see it as consumerist, because the original intent of Halloween was to leave pumpkins and such out for Samhain, and to wear masks so he couldn't see you. Therefore at least something is still in keeping with the old ways of Halloween.

I want to be something pretty this year. huh.gif
cwolf20
Other than tracking down the elusive college students who dress up as Jesus and John The Baptist, in order to take their pictures. Nothing.

I also want to get an audio recording of one of my "fellow" Christians calling them sinful and "What would your parents think?"

Seriously. Those 2 never cuss, fight, etc while in costume. They even turn the other cheek. What they do outside of halloween is beside the point.
Ronin Drake
Well, I've gotten progressively better at my pumpkin carving. Bit ahead of the rest of my family, though nowhere near as good as all the stuff you see online.

Unfortunately, that might be the highlight of my Halloween. sad.gif Don't really have a costume of my own except the one I used last year, which was more lackluster than I liked, and I don't have much means to get a different one.

I do expect I'll be showing off my Halloween poem about trick-or-treaters to a lot of people though. Everyone always gets a kick out of it and I revised it recently to give a bit more punch. I was thinking of showing it off here if anyone was interested.

I grew up on makeshift costumes. Aside from not looking like every other kid in general, they tend to look better that the pre-made costumes if for no other reason than that materials with some actual quality went into it. I <3 thrift shops. Well, maybe except the big city ones... Could get something new for some of the prices I saw at a couple places in Portland... :/ But yeah. One potential for my costume this year is to wrap in a burgundy sheet that I discovered I could easily pass off as a slinky dress and wear a fall-color'd half mask, maybe stick some leaves on in spots. Stuff I've just got laying around.

The past 2 years, my roommate and I have spent Halloween at concerts. Can't this year, since we don't have the money to go anywhere and nothing seems to be playing nearby on Halloween, but next year we should be able to better establish our tradition. biggrin.gif

The first concert, Nightwish in Seattle, there was a guy who'd dressed up as God. My roommate got a chuckle, saying the band was so good that God had come to see. I think they ended up calling him Father Time, though.
Nicol Bolas
I have several possible ideas that I could try, but I've already used most of them on Halloweens past. I'm thinking about doing some sort of "group costume" this year by getting a whole bunch of my friends together so that we can go as an undead horde (I'd either be Richard or a lich if we go through with it.) If that doesn't work out, I suppose that I could just go as Waldo or something (maybe Shaggy from Scooby Doo like I did last year.)
Gathers Scrolls
I haven't decided on a costume (if any), I'll probably hang out with friends, have a mini movie-marathon, and dole out packets of diabetes to any kids that show up. I've noticed that going door-to-door has declined in my area, I think there were just 6 or 7 last year.
Oh, well, more to stockpile, as emergency rations during the inevitable zombie-apocalypse. Or Monday, whichever is scarier . . . . wink.gif

Oh, and I like the idea of making it a multiple-day event. smile.gif
Sessamaru
Aside from my natural vampiric appearance (I could easily go by as a vampire without wearing make-up... I miss my long hair, though...) I may try and throw on some make-up and get creative. I tend to do what I wish with no real direction... most of the time, I appear as a ghoul, a reaper... or something unknown and alien. Anywho... depending, I'm going to see if I can get a long white wig, a fanciful white shirt, and tight leather pants with knee high boots. I want to see if I can bring my RP character to life :/

Im camping on my roof, and throwing a gorilla suit stuffed with paper on passing trick or treaters.

Bleh, there's really not much to do here for Halloween since our neighborhood is like, totally boring.

BUT, my mom and I have pretty much decided that we're going to find some place to volunteer. Halloween volunteering. Helping people in costume. Awesome.

anyways. I Want to go as GIR this year but I have neither the time nor material to make one. Is there by any chance a pre-made GIR suit up for sale???

One year, my best friend and I wrapped another friend in a white sheet, painted his face white and stuck a crumpled aluminum foil hat on his head to resemble ashes. Then we printed a tag with the word JOKER on it and attached that to him, to identify his choice of rolling paper.

On the way to a party, they were stopped by a cop.
"OK, I know you're a witch, and you're Medusa, but what the heck are you?"
"I'm a joint, man!"
laugh.gif

I used to have a very good Grim Reaper costume we made from cheap burlap. It had the wide bell sleeves, flowing robe and cape that dragged on the ground, and we did a sloppy job on the edges on purpose to give it the worn, ragged look. I wore black sweats underneath, and a good quality full-head skull mask. With the black velvet lined hood, all you saw was the skull. I braided a belt from sisal (hemp) cord and made a hanging loop with a noose, then bought some brass skeleton keys and a brass ring to hang from the belt using the noose.

I wish I hadn't given that costume away. sad.gif

And Halloween night I'm either going as a Hollow or the bearded hug monster, AKA, ME.

What do you guys think Ogie Bogie from nightmare before christmas or the Mad Hater from alice in wonderland and im thinking orange and neon pink for the suit and a funny hat (Im thinking about getting my school to do both plays and alice in wonderland could have some crazy costumes.)

One time my friend made a costume solely out of Duct Tape. He made a full on suit, tie, pants, Top Hat (that one was amazing), shoes, and various accessories.

Mad Hatter is actually a better choice. Oogie Boogie is too easy to make and use (unless of course you actually put bugs in the sack). As Mad Hatter, make sure you get the biggest hat you can find. Also remember to drink lots of tea and to sound like you have some kind of mental disorder.

Lulz, bearded hug monster.

Just realized, I haven't done this here yet. *GLOMP*

Anyway. I was going to be Super girl. Got a cape at Six Flags Over Georgia (initially got a Batman cape, but they were having a twofer deal), and I was going to rummage up the other parts. But then I got horns at the local Renaissance Festival that go surprisingly well both with my RenFest costume and with my own hair/complexion. Now that I've got my braces off and can fit prosthetic fangs over my canines, I'll probably be a demon. I'll post pics if I get any decent ones.

As to what I'm actually doing, as much as I love mooching candy off of strangers, my parents made me stop trick-or-treating a few years ago, said I was too old. Which is complete bull. I have friends in college who still go out trick-or-treating. My NJROTC unit is doing a food drive during Halloween, though, so I'll probably wrangle up some friends and go trick-or-treating for can goods/non-parishables.
HerSevvyBear
I'll do the same thing I do every year.

Try to take over the world. When that fails, around 4 PM (judging solely by past experiences), I'll probably just chill out at home and play XBox all night, de aru.

I'm so kewl.
king raven
more likely than not, I won't be doing anything for halloween... unless my girlfriend comes to visit me in Boston... at which point, I will be taking advantage of my roommate being nowhere near my apartment.

And maybe I'll find a party for us to go to, but that's second priority.

If she doesn't come visit, I'll do what I always do. Wait til the day after, and then hit all the shops for massive amounts of half price candy.
Penny Dreadful
Oh, oh, I have pictures of my mad Halloween skillz. Can I post them here? I use dial-up so I never venture into picture threads and don't know if that's the only place where pictures are allowed. Also, I just like showing off the cheap gore effects I do. I smear my makeup and mat my hair and latex makes my face look fat, so these aren't exactly flattering glamour shots rolleyes.gif

Pictures in link form so as not to clutter the page. Also they're quite bloody... and taken poorly. My boyfriend knows nothing about proper lighting. I once had better pictures, but that camera fell out of a moving vehicle... Don't ask because I don't know...

Full face - me in lighting that's way too bright.

Close-up - a "close-up" on some a few wounds. Woefully out of focus, but you can see some of the detail.

Before shot - my boyfriend after I put his base makeup on. You can see part of the scrubs we were wearing. I "decorated" those too - using chocolate syrup and cocoa and food coloring and Karo syrup.

not quite finished - a not quite finished shot of my boyfriend, but it's the closest thing to it I have. He took the remaining pictures himself and they all came out... wonky - as did the group shots taken by a third party.

I make my own appliances. They're single ply toilet paper and latex. The rest is a combination of makeup pastels, a stage makeup wheel, blue lipstick, and my usual foundations, eyeliner and eye shadows. I use FX blood for wounds, chocolate blood for clothing stains, and a watery-based blood for teeth stains and bloody drool. I used to use makeup sponges, but these days I just sort of get in there with my hands and smudge and shape and splatter things around.

The year before last, I was a geisha zombie. I had a ripped open neck and a Glasgow smile and it was magical. And I can't find the pictures now that we've moved. I could cry. *sigh* Hopefully, there will be something fun to do in this place where we moved... and hopefully, work didn't ignore me when I put in for a couple of days off.

I'm planning on getting a partial panther fursuit for Halloween! I'll need to give the suitmaker payment, though. Anyone know some law-abiding ways to get a good chunk of money quickly? I'll need $500 by this Friday, and $500 more afterwards to finish the deal. $261, since I have $139 in my piggy bank. By choosing to buy another suit, I saved $600!

Both because I don't feel like waiting until Halloween actually arrives and because I'm a total attention whore, I'm unleashing this upon you all. This is what I did for the Day of the Dead some years back, and I'll likely be parading it around friends and family who are willing to hear it again. Here it is...

Monsters?

Monsters on the prowl
Or is it hide 'n seek
Is he supposed to growl
Or giggle as he speaks

From legends and from movies
These creatures come our way
We used to see them killing
But now they laugh and play

Yonder is Vlad Dracula
And all of his ilk
But it's hard to find them scary
As they drink their chocolate milk

Here we see a werewolf
Stalking in the park
He'll be going home soon
For fear of the dark

And just who is this villain
Why, it's Frankenstein
Hey, wait a minute
He's only 3-foot-9

Creature from the Black Lagoon
Don't you just love him
A shame you know he needs
A tube to help him swim

Pirates meet with ninjas
A battle soon erupts
Breaking midway through
To drink from sippy cups

Skeletons and devils
And all else that we fear
Even the walking pumpkin
Whose mother's always near

Everything we see tonight
Comes with its own cost
The mythos of these monsters
Has been somewhat lost

But even as you watch them
Go up and down the street
You can still recall the story
Behind each, "Trick or Treat!"

I am Nicol Bolas, and I approve this message.

Anyway, some of my friends have been thinking of assebling a Pokemon-themed group that I may or may not wish to join. If I join, I will probably end up being either Mr. Mime or Alakazam just for lulz. I'll manage to have fun with it either way.

Thinking about finding an illustrator for that piece and making and making something out of it.

But, on topic, the chances of me doing much of anything are unfortunately slim. I really want to have a nice costume and parade myself around, but I lack resources... and energy. dry.gif

My bf will be richard, I am going as Bast, The egyptian cat goddess. (was going to be benny, but the staff won;t fit in the club and frankly...no one will know who I am around there...T_T"....and it's easier to explain history then an online comic.)

I will be freezing my tail off while he will be dying of the heat....T_T I need to find warmer costume ideas...

We'll probably go trick or treating (so what if he's 27 and I'm 21.....we want free candies darn it!) and then to our lovely goth club happy.gif

And to those poor souls who are told that they are too old for trick or treating...tell them Age is just a number....it is how old you act and feel that counts....then whine, pout and act like a 5 year old...happy.gif

Or do what a friend of mine used to do to keep trick or treating...volenteer to take out your neighbour's kids trick or treating, or a younger sibling/cousin....that way you can go and get candy without the funny looks!

Ahhhh I still dont know =/

I hear bout chicks going to parties and stuff and since there all kind of cute, & getting slutty outfits... I'm tempted to go.

Although i think the whole "holiday" is ridiculous... mhm.

omg i love halloween its one of my favorite holidays! i am goin as a witch this year and going to trick or treat with all of my friends. the its party time lol, the only thing i dont like about halloween is when people dont understand it and think its a bad time of the year and try to get everyone else to agree thats just stupid i swear! mellow.gif

unsure.gif Yeah, I'm a geek. 17 and I am so going trick or treating. No one likes to give us candy anymore and we even go to all the trouble to dress up for them. We'll probably wander around the local haunted houses. I'm totally cosplaying as Richard because I can and I love him and I am getting all my friends into the comics. My friend is coming up so we'll probably just drive around go into town or something. Make some fun out of the best day of the year.

It's almost time to cause some mischief, trick or treat, and dress up as chimeras. To be honest, I don't know what to do, haha. I feel a bit too old to go trick or treating, but I still want to do something memorable.

Any suggestions?

Going down the fayre that they've shifted from this weekend to next weekend.

As for Trick or Treaters & such, I'll be throwing the first one that asks me anything into the nearest solid object (hopefully with glass included) & using them as an example to the rest of them.
