Welcome to the forum.
Benny/Cale 4ever
I doubt its just a passing fling, Benny was going to marry that one guy, Say'l but shit happened and he ended up dead. She's probably much more emotionally needy than Cale is and if she's going to do this I doubt its just her trying to comfort him. She needs comfort too.
Edit: Yes, Monday can't come soon enough though they might just switch off to the sisters or to Legara.
That's true, but she not a needy personality. She actually shuts people out, and in turn, relies on herself. I think she will always love Say'l. She admires Cale, but I think it's like the others; they see him as a rising king and want to see him prosper. She and Krunch are so close anyway that I doubt she even has romance in her head. SHe just wants to be part of a family. Cale is the head of that family. Gotta keep him on top, right?
I also have always seen Cale as not thinking of himself ever. Taking on a queen, that is going to be hilarious.
Richard: I think #06, #09, #69, and #96 are your best options.
Cale: Whaa! I can't decide! I could never force a woman to wed me and force myself on her to produce an heir!
Krunch: There's always adoption. You're sort of adopted, aren't you, Pinky? Heh!
Cale: Huh?

Hopefully some snuggling will propitiate Cale enough so that tomorrow he'll feel like apologizing to Pella for being so hard on her.

Sep 24 2009, 02:31 PM
Yes, I was pissed at Cale for that. What a jerk-off way to state his opinion?! I wanted to give Pella some love. Gods know she needs it. That stupid sorcerer has stolen her whole life and given it to Cale. She has never complained once, and then Cale throws all her efforts to help him in her face.
It's actually kind of mean that he might get some within two chapters of that...

An important question, which I think most of you are overlooking;
How is Krunch, a Bloodrage, going to take to his beloved daughter being defiled out of wedlock by the elf?

lol, well, I've seen Richard use frost spells time and time again and last time I checked, only mages could do that.

Why be a stickler about classes when a bit of inter-class ability-mixing gets you a scene as cool as this one...

Wow.... just wow. Didn't see this coming at all. I do have to question the "romance" of it though. I always taken Benny's feelings towards Cale to be more one of gratitude and perhaps some hope that the world can be good. And I haven't seen anybody say anything about the other end of this. I've seen nothing from Cale to suggest a romantic interest in anyone so far. So yeah, I agree with what a couple others have said. This seems more like 'sexual healing' to relieve all that stress Cale is building up. Sorta of a way for Benny to show her gratitude for Cale. What I wonder is how Cale will react to this. He seems pretty caught up in the moment right now, but who knows how he'll react when he gets his head clear again.
Overall I have three predictions of how this could turn out.
1. Richard appears and interrupts before anything really happens. I almost have trouble seeing this not happening, considering Richards habit of interrupting. But perhaps he'll be preoccupied by his "Fork of Truth Theater."
2. Cale regains his senses before anything happens and refuses to do this since it isn't an act of love.
3. They do the act and Cale assumes it's an act of love, while Benny doesn't think of it as so. This creates a good bit of awkwardness and tension for a while to come.
But who knows, maybe I'm being cynical. Still, seems weird for a love to suddenly appear like this. Also, I do not believe this is a dream sequence, but if it turns out to be one I will probably laugh at all the Benny/Cale.

I doubt Richard has forgotten, but he might still do something like that....or he could do one of his firework displays "Benny and Cale are Kissing here!" or something along those lines.
as it is I think the roots were to make sure that he didn't try to run away or anything.

Like many of the good folks here, I can't wait for Richard to interrupt, perhaps fwooshing something/someone in the process just for a laugh.

I disagree. Romance doesn't ruin anything. It's the sappy lovy-dovy romance that drives stories into the gutter. If you write romance carefully, it can actually come out well done and progress a series. It's difficult to pull off, but I have faith in our writer's talents.

The best stories that want to run for a long time include a very large variety of genres. That goes for almost every kind of media.
This was exactly the right moment to have it happen. Emotional stress overload, and only one way to calm down. By letting them both test their feelings for each other and counter the negative emotions with something nice, it is just plain psychology. The sympathie was there a long time, but never the right moment in all the rushing to rescues, fleeing etc.
Very great work, I am always amazed that a comic can keep me away from my beloved books.
My 2 cents. Have a pleasent one

Well the Elves of modern fantasy all derive from Tolkien and he took his Elves straight from Norse Myth. In Norse Myth there wasn't as far as I can tell any mention of homosexuality. The Elves were pretty much human-like beings who were closer to the Gods and better in every way.

There are those elves, but the elves I recall were more fey-wild. Though they were human-like, they had a free-spirited nature. They didn't have absolutes, so perhaps bisexual wasn't the right term. Non-perferance sound better?

Elves are essentially Humans that live either forever or a very very very long time, they have all the same impulses and emotions humans do, so yeah, they're tempted just like Humans are, except it's not absolutely necessary in life for them, considering Elves are more 'civilized' than humans.

Actually, the Celts believed in the Fey Wild. Even Shakespeare wrote about it in several plays, namely A Mid-Summernight's Dream. I've actually been looking into the Fey Wild again, researching for a story I wanted to write.
