Today I got on my computer like I always do, and I found that the sound did not work. when I looked through my properties, It said there wasn't an audio device connected.
I have a set of speakers and a set of headphones plugged in that worked yesterday.
what the hell is going on?

I would have to say it has something to do with your soundcard. It might be fried. Go ahead and check it out. Swap it out, try and use a new soundcard and see if it works. If not, then I think someone else might have a theory... but my best guess you fried the soundcard somehow.

Might wanna check to be sure that your audio just didn't get muted too.

Also perhaps install the newest drivers for your sound card.

Or the connections on the wires could be worn. Mine are. A wire runs from one speaker to the other and only the right speaker is connected to the computer; the left speaker gets it's power from the right. If I don't have the speaker wire running between them sitting just so, the left speaker won't work.

.. Did you check Volume Control? >_>
