Sometimes, when people reach a specific maturity, they tend to never learn more than what they wish. To beat humility into him won't work, sadly. And no, I don't think he's sincere at all. Would he have called and apologized to her if he hadn't been called on his bad behavior? No. He probably thought what he did was funny and a good way to get attention for himself, and only apologized once he realized the bad press was going to hurt his career. He only apologized because he saw a benefit to himself...or hopefully someone much bigger than him told him they'd beat the everliving shit out of him if he didn't man up and say sorry.
