Of course Richard is the most popular, but that doesn't make him the best. Everyone has their own tastes and while I'm sure most people think Richard is the best I don't believe there is one character that is best. Personally my favorite is Benny for prurient reasons but being the best of anything is never a matter of one person's opinion. I voted none because in my opinion no character really jumps out as being a particularly special character worthy of the title. The reason why I blaspheme by saying Richard isn't the best character is that in my opinion Richard is comic relief elevated to a plot relevant position.

i agree, i was just pointing out that Richard will most likely win, i myself lean towards Cale but it feels like we haven't seen much of any of the other characters, so far it feels like the only properly developed characters are Cale, Richard, Krunch and sorta Ray'd, but that's just my opinion at the mo

Personally, i'm a little miffed that Tavor is listed nowhere in this poll.

well the poll does seem to be just main characters, the recurring ones we see almost all the time, Tavor made 2 brief appearances a while ago, also there is an "other" option.

Personaly, i think Benny is the "Best" Character, sure Richard is fun, but he gets old.

Out of curiosity, did you paint yourself green? That would make a huge difference. If you were dressed as Benny (complete with an electrical tape bodice) then I'd be shocked that people would stare at a guy dressed as Richard, it really speaks to their commitment to him as fans.

I choose Richard because he does not feel pain and that may help in the greater scheme of things. If I had to say the second victor, then it would be Cale, because if you can get him mad enough, he can seriously kick some ass. Though Benny is a really good charator, I believe her skills lie in healing not combat, especially hand to hand combat.

Right then, enough talk about pictures.
I think the term best is a little vague here, it probably should have been titled most popular because everyone has different ideas about what makes characters great but everyone can agree that Richard is the most popular, even people like me who believe Richard is overrated have to admit that and respect people who think otherwise.

Richard is the Han Solo of LFG. Everyone else reacts to him. Everyone else around him is dependent on his good will. If he were utterly evil, they'd all be dead. But he is BORED and evil (and Cale for some reason entertains him, so...) *grins*

If Richard were removed, LFG would lose a leg and not be able to stand upright. LFG would become your standard, run-of-the-mill, D&D-esque adventure story. Richard takes it to a completely OTHER plane and makes it consistently cock-eyed and hilarious. LFG would NOT succeed half-so-well without him, and the authors know it.

Cale may be the "lead" character, but Richard runs the universe. He is "IT".
