Love. A bizarre concept really. So many different meanings for a simple word. People claim it is a powerful word, describing a strong, unbreakable bond between two or more people. And yet it is tossed around more than a ball of flames between my two hands. Benny, for instance, loves chocolate. But she uses the same word with a burning passion to describe her relationship with her adoptive(?) father. Does this mean chocolate is just as important to her? I do not believe so, but I cannot be sure. I have said previously on more than one occasion that I love to kill things and cause mayhem. That was not entirely accurate. I do receive some form of enjoyment from the acts, but that is more a result of my nature rather than how I was raised. That and I still do not quite understand the concept of love. The thing is, I believe I knew what is was once, those many years ago, but along with many of my memories, the definition escapes me. Some of those whom I have encountered claim that love conquers all. I of course destroyed them soon after, presumably proving that myth false. How can love conquer anything if it is so fleeting and helpless? I recently asked Krunch about the word and its meaning, discreetly of course. He responded in a lengthy, rambling monologue about familial connections and arrays of chemicals in the body doing this or that. I got bored about ten minutes in and left to do something else. Perhaps the Archmage, my fluffy bunny-kins, would know. I refuse to ask as this may give him some form of leverage over me so I must ponder this on my own. From what I can remember, and the input from my group over varying amounts of time I have gathered enough of a definition to satisfy my curiosity on the subject. Love must be when you enjoy doing something with someone, but when that someone is not present the activity brings less enjoyment. So now I am left with my original conundrum: Do I love Cale? I think I have almost reached my answer.

People really don't think with commas, I was trying to make it more like quick, pseudo-sentence thoughts. I can change it though.

Thanks! I was really expecting negative responses to this thought of mine. I might continue it, but I wasn't thinking of a series when I typed this out.

No, it's some introverted speculation on the workings of Richard's mind. Would you have said that if I had put Pella in place of Cale?

WHAT?!?! RICHARD??

I thought the context made it obvious whose thoughts we were reading.
The line "I have said previously on more than one occasion that I love to kill things and cause mayhem" should have been a dead giveaway.
Angel/Demon
Great job Ry Ry. (Btw, you made me post my first post in this section lol.) I think this will turn out great... and you will have several fangirls who are rooting for the two's union reading if you continue lol.

Thanks A/D, and I hope I made this first time post enjoyable. As for continuing this pairing, there aren't many places I could take it.
Bastet
you wrote that very well. I liked it, and yes it was obvious that it was about richard. none the less it is very good. laugh.gif

Grazie mille
Richard's Soulmate
Very interesting. A little serious I think for Richard, but then again love is a serious thought.

Now, let the fanboy in me squeal...

RICHARD IS SO IN LOVE WITH CALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ehem.

Excellent work. I think we've all wanted to know what's in Richard's mind. Plus, in the comic you'd have to be blind or a very good person not to see the undertones. XD If you continued this I think you'd get some good responses.
Jonath
It's not necessarily too serious for Richard. There's a chance (personally I don't subscribe to this theory but there are those who do) that Richard just acts really zany and silly to mask his true personality. I believe Richard is just zany and silly and only after recovering his memories does he have any real inner personality beyond simple love of mayhem.

I was thinking manly, sibling love more than entirely romantic when making this fic (note: in this fic, not in my head) so as not to get teh banned for homoerotic content. The title was to catch eyes in addition to sprouting the seeds of mayhem. The fanfics I write on my own time would never be able to be posted here.

If you DO write a fic for Richard/Cale, definitely tell me where it is posted. *wink*

Huh. Interesting.

I kinda read that you were more going for "manly, sibling love" than you were romantic love, but either way, it was pretty good. smile.gif

Well, what I read into it was this: Richard doesn't know what love is. Therefore, there is no homosexuality, heterosexuality, etc.
And wouldn't you ask the same question, if you were trying to figure out what love is?

But I really liked this. It was so funny.
