Heh, I'm a poet and I know it. I am predicting a Richard distraction to get the group a head start.
willow_kidd
so ...........

yeah.....

*blink*

I don't think I saw that coming.

Now that I have, though, I rather like it.
Ronin Drake
Finally, we get to see a few more of the female Bloodrage. Of course, I'm only seeing 2 of them to about a dozen males. Not good odds for repopulating. O.o

I can honestly say I didn't expect him to be handing over the sceptre-maces. I thought he was just gonna agree to follow him.

On another note, can Cale actually lift those things? I mean, they're a heavy handed set of weapons made for a Bloodrage chief. I don't think they'd be that light.

I was wondering that myself!
αcheron
Krunch should have put some strength potions in that bag of his, if he knew that would happen.
Lunaya
Raaay'd...whyyy?! *headdesk*

Am I the only one who thought Toyk was holding up a puppet in panel 2? Nah.

Unknown_Variable
The last panel makes Cale seem ever-so feminine to me.
Loss_Theif
I know this is a little late, but the more I see Ray'd's new arm, i wonder how Pella carried all the way back from wherever she got it. I mean, I'm sure Pella has upper body strength (she can do smith work after all) but I can't see how she was able to lift a metal arm that's practically as big as she is, unless the things hollow or something

Maybe I'm just being weird about this, but it just irks me for some reason.
Ronin Drake
What's with the one wimpy looking Bloodrage in the crowd shot?

Except for the brown one, they seem a bit more grim than wimpy.
Ronin Drake
No, I mean the one on the far right that has about half as much muscle mass as everyone else but isn't a female. That guy is wimpy.
Unknown_Variable
Agreed. He looks like he is about to cry.

I'm thinking that's this young fellow making a reappearance.
Endzone
yeah. Was gonna say it's probably just a kid.

I said, way back when Cale first got that lovely title of King, that I noted a few similarities between his story and the King Arthur story; this comic brought that back for me: first, Arthur's first major victory as High King, against the usurping factions, was due to support from a few small but powerful petty kingdoms, as Cale has gained the power of the now small, but still powerful, Bloodrage. Mind you, one of those petty kingdoms was Leodegrance, and King Leodegrance's eldest daughter was a girl named Guenevere, which raises some FASCINATING questions about those female Bloodrage. wink.gif

I also mentioned, at that time, that I'm a big Arthurian Mythos fan, so I could be reading WAY too much into it.

Hmmm....isn't Benny technically a member of the Bloodrage clan? tongue.gif
Ajac
Why YES, I do believe she IS...
Indignant
To recap the Aurthurian parallels:
Cale=Arthur
Benny=Guenevere
Richard=Merlin
Krunch=Merlin
(One for magic, one for widsom)
Tim=???
Pella=Nimue? (That makes for one ODD Lady of the Lake...)
malkavian
looks like we now have are army complete

Okay, so, I know most people don't see this page as epic...but for some reason, it really was to me. I mean, I saw this coming. Not exactly like that, as I thought Ray'd would be chief, and they'd just move into the city. No matter...the page totally sent shivers down my back. I don't know what about it that did it, it just did. Maybe it was the fact that I can sense epicness coming in the next few pages, or something.

tl;dr, I thought this page was awesome. biggrin.gif

He was the young Bloodrage survivor we saw way back on page 141.

He's a kid. Of course he's wimpy looking.
Rip Van Ishmael
Why is everyone assuming he's handing the maces over to Cale? He's just holding them in front of him, like a knight or whatever would cross his sword over his chest. Ray'd said he was pledging loyalty, not declaring him chief of all Bloodrage. I don't think the Bloodrages in general would be quite okay with an elf being their chieftain, if not only for the whole bloodlineage thing.

All in all, however, the whole situation is craaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.
The Mask
Did I just get a bit o' shivers down my spine? biggrin.gif

Nice page.
Loss_Theif
I was picking up on them being a little uneasy too. I don't see them being to happy if he is name chief. I mean can you imagine it?

Chief Pinky of the Blood Rage.
Peanuts
nice page. I like how the stone throne there is still broken from way back when krunch broke it.
Berasko
Cool so hes pulling together everyone........ But im just curious whats gonna happen when they get there and see Richards "friends" have taken up residence...... any thoughts?

could make for some interesting pages...
Xeivous
I'm thinking Cale has respected out of delusion skill and into duel wield...

I agree. It seems more like a gesture of fealty. Its typical for the one swearing to offer their weapon to whomever they are swearing fealty to. It's like a symbolic way of saying that their personal might is now part of their lord's power. Those maces are his inheritance as the new head of the Bloodrage, Ray'd wouldn't just hand those over.

And by swearing fealty, although Cale is ultimately (in a sense) in charge, the Bloodrage are still their own people, and Ray'd is still their chief.

It made me happy to see someone other than the archmage (FOREVER ago) finally call Cale "King."
Bag-o-Legion-Ears
Really, i expected something along the lines of this to happen, we all knew that all the 'other' races were going to gather at Kethencia at some point, so the Bloodrage had to at some point.

Yes, there are some Arthurian parrallels.

Yes, the Bloodrage do look upset, but i get its reasonable as they are a proud people and have been nearly-completly-destroyed.

And yah, more like a general or a vassal, not a little pawn or something. I am thinking along the lines of Cale ruling
kethencia as the main capitol nation, with all the other races having their little vassal nations.
Xadrin
Now, I know this may be something no one would care enough to be all interested with questions starting with "why" such as, "Why do the two guards in the top left of the second to last panel look as if they're ready to attack the Bloodrage?", but has anyone noticed the two guards in the top left of the second to last panel? It looks as if they are ready to attack the Bloodrage or something. It might just be me, though.
Bag-o-Legion-Ears
no, i saw those guards, i just suppose they are shocked to see them all gathered like that.

A big group of Bloodrage, each roughly 4-5 times your size and prone to be militaristic, storm into the main throne room.

of course they are on edge.
Novalyyn
Being that the remaining Bloodrage were prolly a major part of Mechastone's defense, I bet R'ayd just put Mr. Gnome man in a bit of a tight spot. He was already talking about the likely hood that they were gonna die in the siege, anyway...

But, meep. Even knowing the Bloodrage were pretty much guaranteed to go with Cale, R'ayd way of announcement still made me kinda go, "Whoa." Well, it'll be a very different position than what they've had in the past!
Metalcommand
wow, lfg is becoming way too predictable. Haven't laughed/been intrueged or been interested by this comic by a few weeks, except for the undead army.
Horas
Yeah it's kind of gotten predictable the last few pages.

But I also find it weird that both Pella and Benny are nowhere to be seen on those pics.

I can understand Richard not being there, scaring gnomes and all that, but Pella kind of almost always was near Cale, and Benny kind of was really happy to see Krunch, why isn't she with him?
Arak
Very nice.

In my own opinion the Bloodrage don't look particularly unhappy with this. It looks more like grim determination.
Evil Monkey
Haven't seen Benny or Pella doing much in the last couple of pages. I'm getting the urge to shout, "Don't just stand there! DO SOMETHING!!"

Novalyyn
For those who think R'ayd is handing over the maces - I'm pretty sure he isn't. And it isn't even because of how un-Bloodrage it'd be. It's because the way he's holding just plain isn't correct for offering over a weapon. When offering up a weapon, you hand it over with the handle/hilt facing the one you're giving it to, a gesture a peace and goodwill as oppose to a threat or challenge. The way the maces are being held has more of a "My services are yours" vibe.

This page gave me chills it was definitely Epic to me too!!!

I am kinda curious to see what happens when everyone meets up at Kethenecia. Will they all mesh?
Salt
Cale will make them Mesh!

Also a common hatred of Legara will make them mesh....

But will Richards fun of killing things stop when all legara's dead?
Armus
Mooo, did someone drop a patty cause this panel stinks. We need some action or some Richarstraction (richard+distraction)

I agree, he's pledging his sword (maces) to the king.
Ang
The surprised look on cales face made me smile.... and think i'm still smiling.

Toyk, and the other gnomes, are really quite upset in the background... what's that all about?
Cecilia Lynne
Wow!! I absolutely love how epic this is happy.gif Sure the funny stuff with Richard is great but what truly draws me to this comic is when it gets like this.
Lunaya
I'm amazed by the range of diversity there is among the Bloodrage tribe. No two look alike. And look, girl cows! Err...cowgirls?

...

Yeah.

Well i could very well be wrong but i'm pretty sure "cow" generally refers to females while "bull" is the male term...

Anyhoo, i wonder when Richard is gonna bring up the zombie army he has... Altho knowing him he wont, and everyone will be in for a surprise when they get to Kethenecia.

And for some reason the stone throne looks out of place...

Actually, it is not that the story is becoming more predictable, it is the update schedule. With a story this size, you are going to have to take time for exposition sometimes, and with an update schedule of 2x per week, some of the more ADD type audience will get bored.

I'm not complaining, mind you. Sohmer and DeSouza have a lot on their plate and have chosen the update schedule that works best for them. If you find yourself getting too easily bored with LFG, maybe you could cut down on your frequency of reading it. Check it once a month rather than every update.

As for me, I'll be checking every update and playing on the forum a bit in between, as I am loving every page of this epic tale.
