As reported by TMZ and confirmed by ABC. Was rushed to UCLA Medical Center in cardiac arrest, he died later today.
Grym
Man, that sucks. There goes any hope of Thriller live.
Angel/Demon
Well he's a child molester so it is a well deserved (yet suprising) death.
Sessamaru
He was wrongly accused, mind you. Anyway... poor guy... he lived such a hard life.

I'm still going to pay SOME respect and say: R.I.P. Michael Jackson.
Rurik
Wow. You know, mock him as much as I do, and will continue to as well, he was a damned good singer, and it's a shame to see him go. Sure he was a bit messed up in the head, though I personally have never believed anyone who claimed he was a pedophile, but that doesn't change the fact that he was an awesome performer.

Very few people truly deserve death. Saying that someone does is a kind of nasty thing to do.
ThrillOfIt
I agree with Grymsicle. He doesn't deserve it. MJ lived a very, very hard life. Not the least of which was a skin condition that sent his career into a tailspin.
ryannayr417
I learned about this while in a chairlift hundreds of feet in the air around six o'clock.
Jowy
I agree, he was wrongly accused and even though he was a bit off in the head he was a damn and I mean damn good performer and artist no matter his personal life, he will be missed. R.I.P. Michael Jackson!

After the ride stalled they just annopunced it. At the bottom I asked them why they announced it there when many possible extremist fans were at the most opportune suicide spots. They just said it was a moment of silence.
Rurik
Sounds like a good spot to me then, I'd have been inclined to do it just to see if anyone jumped. laugh.gif

Anybody who would jump after that probably wasn't doing much with their life anyways rolleyes.gif

First off, death is terrible. Especially for someone as young as 50 to have a heart attack and go suddenly like that.

Yes, MJ was talented and made some incredibly good music. I can give him props for that and thank the man for Thriller and most of the songs he came out with in the early 90's.

That being said, I stand on the side of those who believe that he did some incredibly unacceptable things during his lifetime. Whether it's true or not is absolutely impossible for me to know, but I've always been a big believer in where there's smoke, there's inevitably at least a tiny fire. And child molestation is pretty much the blackest smoke that rises.

Child molesters (he wasn't convicted, I won't say him) DO deserve to die. If there's ONE kind of crime out there that deserves capital punishment, it's child molestation. Well, maybe that and being Hitler/Stalin.

Anyway, bye Michael, thanks for the music.
Angel/Demon
I do love his music. He was a great entertainer and all... but Im sorry to disagree with some of you.... but I shall stop before it turns into a flaming though.

Btw, did anyone hear about Farrah Faucet (Idk how to spell the last name) dying today as well?
Kelly
I know! I was totally expecting Farrah to get all the mag covers on Monday...but apparently not. sad.gif

Also, just pointing out...he didn't necessarily die of a heart attack. It's being reported that it was "cardiac arrest"...which really could be a plethora of different things.
Rurik
Yeah, heard about her too. Why couldn't it have been Michael Bay and Sylvester Stallone in their places? dry.gif
Angel/Demon
Well, Farrah started another celebrity death trilogy, so Michael Bay and Sylvester Stallone may be next *shrugs*
Rurik
Please let it be Bay, he's raped the Transformers franchise enough already. dry.gif

You do realize that you're putting child molestation on par with mass genocide, right?

I'm not saying that either is right in any sense, but... you have to admit that one is much higher on the list of things not to do.

I never said they were on par. I said, "If there's ONE kind of crime out there that deserves capital punishment, it's child molestation. Well, maybe that and being Hitler/Stalin."

I believe capital punishment (if it were to be reinstated) should apply to those who commit mass genocide and those who commit child molestation. I'm not saying their EQUALLY as bad, but no one should be able to just walk away after doing that to a child.

Anyway, no arguing about this. Not the point of the thread. wink.gif

I heard about this in the most random place, Allaince Trade Chat. Do to my youth I never really knew him as a performer, just the molester the media showed us. However he DID make really great music, so R.I.P

You guys apparently are too young to recall Ed McMahon who died earlier this week and was Johnny carson's side kick.

The three "theory" already happened.
Quabbin
I was doing the pub crawl in LOTRO, on my way to the Bird and Baby Inn -- somebody pops in on /ooc and says that Michael Jackson had a heart attack, and one of the first replies was "Did they put him in the children's ward?"

Guilty or not (and I can't say, either way, since I never knew the whole story, myself), and despite my generation growing up on his music, it seems that threre is little else that people these days will remember him for.

Ah, yes. I forgot about him... well, that's another one completed. lol

But seriously, wtf is happening to all the celebrities lately?! blink.gif They are starting to die out.

Survival of the fittest? At the end, we will have the truly greatest Celebrities!

Or the ones with the biggest satanic deals (that have yet to run out)... :B

Anyway, RIP man. RIP. I shall play Thriller for you this Halloween (while dressed as a goth loli, but that is not the point).

In class today someone suggested that he really died of a sinus infection. True or not, I got a giggle out of it.

Anyway, I detect a new, non-bedazzled Elvis. "But he's not really dead...-flicks on flashlight and laughs ebilly-"

...-sighs- What is that, five celebrity deaths in like two or three weeks?
Kayhynn
apparently I missed out on drink specials tonight in memory of him.

$3 black and tans.....

I am not the oldest guy here but I know who Ed was. He died Wednesday, Farah died early yesterday Morn, followed by Michael dying around 3 if I heard right yesterday afternoon. That is a sad series of events.

Everyone deserves death... death isnt a bad thing at all.. its not like youre going to be unhappy afterwords...

This is awful news... Ill miss him.... the world is going to change, a big part of it is gone with that man...
Nilly
I just can't believe it happened. I just wish people would stop making jokes about those damn rumors; he's dead, show some respect, assholes. dry.gif Not directed at anybody on here, it's people IRL and trust me she knows who the hell she is.

I'm also sad Farrah Fawcett died. She was a beautiful woman, personality-wise and physically, and it's a shame to see her go, too.

@Rayne: Sinus infection death? Jeez, I should be dead then too. blink.gif *seriously*

Dude, you're talking about the guy who held a baby over the railing of a four-story balcony.

Common sense dictates you don't do that.

Besides. MJ actually died years ago, when his skin turned white.
Rurik
Common sense dictates that common sense is anything but common. If we're going to say he deserves death because he did a few stupid things, then we might as well sentence the entire human race to death while we're at it, because I guarantee, there's not a single person alive who's never done something stupid, and compared to most people, Michael Jackson's stupid stunts are nothing.
Kayhynn
Guys lets remember to play nice.

And on a side note, while no one deserves to die, whatever the hell you folks mean by that, remember this key phrase.

"Nobody gets out of life alive."

He was an amazing star who made mistakes. Guess what folks, we all do the same thing, just some things are seen more predominantly on stars because they're stars. They aren't perfect, but we think they should be.

Technically everyone deserves death because it's the natural end to everyones beginning...lol.

As for MJ, I don't really know how to react. Never really listened to enough of his music to know if I liked it or not. Never ever liked the guy, and I half cringed whenever I saw pictures of him or whatever. I find that I'm not exactly excited that he's dead...but I think the world might be better for it at this point? I dunno.

Also, I just hope that he's actually dead. I could see him pulling a huge stunt where they say he's dead, but he 'comes back' in a little bit, all ready to do his big musical come back. People would go insane over that, and it would piss me off greatly.

anywho
I was kinda overcome with joy that he died, i know it makes me a bad person, but i think him not dying after the things he was accused (cause he wasnt found guilty) is.. well wrong.
Twisted i know srry MJ fans but u love him so much theres ppl out there that can dislike him as well...

His lifestyle i disagreed with, but his music.. well, it still remains good.

You never know - out of all his videos, the one about zombies seems the most likely to be performed.

There's so much wrong with this I won't even bother dignifying it with a full response. Next time you say an innocent man loved by millions of people and persecuted by the likes of you which inevitably drove him to his death in the first place deserves to die, you could at least get the most basic facts straight.
giggledrop sunshine
Ok people, don't turn on each other. Play nice and pay your respects to the man. I don't care how you felt about the charges brought against him or whether you think he was guilty or innocent, this is not the place to discuss it.

Now, he was an amazingly talented guy and he had one hell of a career. He will be missed by millions, if not billions.

Haha Michael Jackson fans are crazy arent they?

His music was great but that mean he had to be a good guy!

Look at all the talented ppl out there who are rude and jerks!

Its simple

You think Michael Jacksons great? sweet, would you let your kid sleep the night over at his ranch? (hypothetical question, most ppl would answer yes, but then again do they have kids? doubt many on here do, if so stop gettin on the net so much and quit neglectin ur kid)

Nough said

the cow has spoken!
Rurik
Statistically speaking, most victims of child molestation are either related to the person who did it, or at the very least they're a friend of the family. Based on that, I'd sooner have let my kid spend the night at Neverland than I would let them spend the night at their uncle's house.

Anywho... good for you, even if that statistic was correct it doesnt mean it doesnt happen, and statistically speaking their have been reports of somethings happenin that house, so i wonder, what the statistic that it would happen to your kid if he stayed over... yep. good parenting.
Rurik
You mean like the lady who tried to sue him and got caught up in her own web of lies when her kid couldn't keep the story straight? Thanks, but I prefer to deal in facts that are proven, not lies that have been shown for what they are.
Kayhynn
Goth. Stop.

Rurik. Don't argue it anymore.

Either way, it doesn't matter what -anyone- believes happened or didn't happen. A Court of law never found him guilty. And his sins/lack there of are between him and his maker.
