From what we've seen, elves age at the same rate as humans do. So Cale will need an heir eventually. Gamlon was likely a hereditary monarchy, so if he ruled over elves, he might have wanted to follow tradition and marry an elfwoman to continue the dynasty. A good-aligned multiracial state founded on the principles of both personal and interracial friendship would probably just elect the most successful good-aligned adventurer as King and the most successful retired good-aligned adventurer as vice-King (to rule while the King is away adventuring).

To all who hint or say outright that Cale is gay: you know that Cam Clarke, the actor who provided the voice for WoW male blood elves, is gay, right?

On a serious note, none of this really matters. Every character has a backstory - everyone except Cale, who seems to have suddenly appeared in the world, possibly with a loud *PLOT* sound, as if he was a videogame player character created by a thirteen year old girl. Okay, maybe he has a backstory, fed to us by Sohmer and Lar in homeopathic doses. Regardless, Cale thinks and acts like a teenager, and any romance involving him would be more creepy than Japanese cartoons that feature so totally 18 year old characters looking like kids. But you need to remember that even if Cale grows up, his potential love interest has to be an interesting and complex character in the comic first and someone to raise kids with second. Mary Sues do not qualify.

Actually, it would be rather hilarious if after all this war stuff is done cales big fat butch wife comes back and starts yelling at him for leaving her with their seven kids.

i can see it now: the war is over, the legion defeated, and cale anon vitaay ruler of kethtenecia. long after the war, cale finds himself with a full regret of his life. he never found love, his friends have all moved on, and he was assassinated shortly after he war and is reflecting on his pitiful existence in the afterlife while members of richards family are annoying him and having alot of fun burning his cloak..........

I've shipped Richard and Pella (from the comic, her appearance in it, and Richard asking if they could keep her). =^~,0^= I think if romance does come into the comic, it would probably be a comedic twister. Maybe a comment someone made *coughRichardcough* and Cale sort of going on about things, at least in his own head for a while, till he decides, rightly so, that he's too noble to settle down so soon, until he's achieved his life's goals. Might be fun, for a little while, but otherwise, I don't think a long-term romance would fit in with the situational humor.

If Cale ends up in a relationship with Benny or Tah'Vray, I think it would only exist in order to fall apart (more likely with Tah'Vray, who isn't a main character). I don't think that Cale has been in a relationship in his life, and I'd probably kill someone if the first person he fell for ended up his soulmate. I may be young, but I know that love doesn't work that way.

Long story short, Cale needs his heart broken. (If romance even enters the picture.)
