LFGfanboy
I remember when i first started watching this comic. It was hilarious and had a good story that progressed at a respectful rate. Please do me the courtesy of going back to the beginning of the comic and look at how many panels they had back then.

Page 1 had 10 panels
Page 2 had 12
Page 3 had 11
Page 4 had 9
Page 5 had 9
Page 6 had 12
Page 7 had 13

Most importantly in the beginning the story was progressing and it was hilarious!

Lets compare to recent LFG releases.

Page 259 has 4
Page 258 has 1
Page 257 has 5
Page 256 has 9
Page 255 has 7

Most importantly is that the story isn't progressing and the funny aspect of what LFG was just isn't there anymore or is just getting old.

I also believe we are getting 1 comic a week now(?) instead of the 2(3?) that it was when it first came out. So now we are getting an average of 6 panels when we were getting an average of 20+ a week.

I am not posting this to be a downer, trollbait or to be flamed by everyone on the forums. I am posting this because I am truly concerned. I love the LFG comics of old, but I now find myself visiting this site on a monthly basis instead of the 2-3 times a week I used to visit. It truly saddens me and I just simply hope things pick up.

I won't stop visiting though! I am afraid my Richard doll may come to life and FWOOSH me if I stopped!

Sincerely yours,
LFGfanboy

I had that same exact feeling too...

But I figured it had something to do with reading the entire comic in two days and then suddenly having to revert to two pages a week... I mean, I"m a new LFG fan but I am a fan. But the story does seemed to have slowed down in the last couple of pages. And I don't think that's just because of the pace I'm reading at now in comparison to those two days of awesome

Yeah, I still loooooooove lfg but I can agree that the story has actually been a little slower lately. However, I am convinced that it is only temporary. I mean come on, there is no book, movie or comic that is ultra hilarious all the time, there are always ups and downs. Besides, that fireworks thing Richard did today was totally awesome!!! Hoping for some serious dwarf slaughter in the near future. laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

I also really want to believe that same as knightwolf happy.gif Every story has it's slow downs. And, you know, the writers may just be recooperating for another long haul of epic proportion. *crosses fingers* I certainly hope so anyways....
Slammy4
I agree. The comic has definetly lost some of my interest recently.

Personally, I think the plot hasn't really been moving that slowly...

Nor do I feel that it's lost its LFGy goodness. Nothing stays exactly the same. Everything gets old eventually. Yes even 'random old Richard', I don't think they milked all they could out of previous ideas, but I don't see change as a negative thing.

And ok, lets face it, pretty much none of us have any intention of stopping reading it. Most of us still wake up as excited as ever on mondays and thursdays (two times a week tongue.gif). Ergo they must still be doing something right....

Person One: LFG isn't living up to my standards.

Person Two: I have no idea what you're talking about, it's exactly the same as its always been.

Person One: But *this* *this* and *this* are nothing like *this* from *that* part of the comic. *This**that*theother*that*this*

Person Two: Everything has its ups and downs. Stop being a fairweather fan and hold the comic on a pedestal unfailingly like the rest of us, no matter what happens.

Rinse. Repeat.

The comic has only taken a turn for a more serious turn. As the comic has progressed it has delved into deeper things other than your typical humor situations from the start. That is just the way of life. While Richard still has his comedy at points it is just sparse sometimes now. I am sure the comic will pick back up cause you guys gotta remember, Lar and Sohmer has a bunch of other things they are working on too so it was only bound that the comic would slow down to a certain extent at some point. I however am still loving it though and looking forward to when it does pick up again.

I still love it. And I don't think it's the comedy that's slowed down. Personally that isn't what's kept my attention. Except for Richard. I love Richard... Anyways, there hasn't been as much turn around on each page that we've gotten the last five or so... But I certainly do expect it's the calm before the storm. Or the eye of the storm I suppose...

Firstly, it has an always been, two pages a week, monday and thursday.

Secondly the speed has actually remained relatively the same, with some ebbs and lows.

Thirdly, it is, for me, still as fantastic and funny as ever, and has become a little deeper as well. It has some down time, true, but it is usually fantastic.

I like to think its beginning to head in a more serious direction, something I personally love, and Sohmer/Lar are having just a teeny bit of difficulty trying to make serious things funny.

Though the latest Richard arch was one of the best so far when it comes to being funny and giving some backstory, if only a little.

Well, you have to look at it from both sides. First, like BoLE said, the comic has always updated twice a week and ALWAYS on time. And like others have mentioned, Lar and Sohmer have taken on other things along the way and the fact that they still manage to keep this comic going on schedule is pretty commendable. It may be the reason that the number of panels in each update has gone down, but you also have to look at the fact that the artwork is so much more detailed than the first few books and take probably take alot more time to draw. That being said, I agree that sometimes a few updates might be lacking here or there, but honestly, would YOU ever be satisfied? I don't think there can ever be enough LFG IMHO.
