The belgariad series was always decent, but I preferred the Pandion order. Sigh. But good stories.
Fairly good writer, and he had a reasonable method to making a good story.

Whether you think he was a good or bad writer, he's name is huge in the industry which is always a plus for it overall. RIP Eddings.

I really enjoyed his book titled Althalus. It was cute and deep at the same time.

I gotta say this...
Just because his name is big in the industry isn't always a plus. I bet if he got big enough, he'd turn into R.A. Salvatore and make some sort of god-like character that always wins, to the point of the stories becoming rediculous. See: Warcraft Lore and it's descent into stupidity (I.E. Arthas and Illidran [or whatever his name is], and the Alliance and Horde being enemies for some dumbass reason Blizzard made up to have opposite factions.)
But anyway... I never really heard of the guy. But that doesn't mean the guy should rip himself out of the grave in roughly one hundred years as a walking skeleton to take care of some unfinished business. Although that would be friggin' sweet. RIP Eddings.

A pity... I never knew him, but the more of the authors I hear/see dying, the more I should respect them by reading their books. I just started the Wheel of Time and now I'm gonna have to read this guy's book. Not guilt, mind you, but because I am missing out. A pity...
R.I.P. David Eddings.

He has a ton of books. I advise starting out with the Sparhawk series. 2 series, very good. I enjoyed them.
