Hallo everyone. Around the world various schools and other institutions are letting out for Summer Break. What's everyone doing this summer?

My parents are having their yearly LAN party with their gaming clan, and then in August my mom's best friend from said clan is coming up for my mom's birthday. I don't know if I'm doing anything, probably will start looking for a job. I'm thinking of working at the pet store - especially since nobody I know works there.

Your PARENTS organise LAN parties. That is either kinda weird or really awesome.

Im just gonna be bored all summer i guess.

I'm gonna be working and doing whatever I feel like.
Starting next month, I'll be close enough to Deep Ellum and Oak Lawn that I'll have plenty to do should I decide to leave my place.

My Goal

Finish reading a book.
Read Manga (Im on 666 Satan right now)
Go to school
Get out of Jury Duty
And

Heh, some people take both sides of it but most think it's awesome. They don't actually organise them, but my mom makes a lot of food for it. XD

Working alot, aaand traveling to places. Hopefully, I'll hit all four places I want to check out.

Haha, been to some great shows there! I remember almost getting kicked out cuz I was being a tad bit belligerent. >_>

Then again, I've never gotten along with bouncers. Except that one time cuz I wasn't kicked out.

Seriously if you guys are in the area this summer, go down to Deep Ellum and you will have a blast. But only one place will let in 17 yo. The rest are 18 and up.

So yeah, I already told you guys what my summer's gonna be like.

Yeah, all of the places I've been to is 18+, and they stamp the minors hands. I'm not into clubs...unless they have a live band playing! What venues have you been to? I've seen Fueled by Fire, Toxic holocaust, Midnight, and alot of local bands. One local band was pure talent, and I was surprised they were that good. Too bad their name was too hard to remember...or the booze was too strong. Whatever.

Also, I forgot what you're summer's gonna be like. Probably more exciting than mine...maybe...

I work at a college so the students get a summer break (3 weeks) as to faculty but I'm in IT and it's the only time we can do all our PC/Mac upgrades so I'll be working.

Tho, I do start college again for the summer term so whoo hoo! WebDesign Degree inc! So In a few years I'll have not one but two Ha Ha Ha (Imitating the count from seasme street) Degrees, a web design one and my computer animation one. Only bonus, the web design degree is totally free, it's good to work at a college tuition grants are win!

The Door, The Loft, The Icehouse (great one and it makes me a little sad everytime I go), Paladium Ballroom, House of Blues.....and Superpages.com Center (not in Deep Ellum, but still the best place for a big concert)
I don't remember all the bands' names, too much or one thing or another. Though I wanted to go see Rev Theory last weekend, but I couldn't get tickets soon enough.

My summer consists of work, seeing friends, and taking a much needed vacation.

I suppose I should feel lucky I have Six Flags nearby then. I do want to travel, though. Staying here is so boring. The only real upside is....well.....my vacation time. At least I'll have time to go out at night now. What I wanna do is go to the beach. I've been to the lakes. I've gone camping. I've been to Vegas (wouldn't mind going back there, either). I've done the cross country road trip. I've spent time at camp. Not much I haven't done during past summers. Now give me a beach

me and the missus are planning a road trip. heading to brighton, ireland, the lake district, scarborough and north yorkshire so far. and leeds festival as well. busy summer. would have been nice to go snowboarding somewhere, but we cant afford it.

I haven't even read the rest of the thread but I must say. You have some kick ass parents.

You know....some girls LIKE nerds....A LOT....I never understood why nerds try to hide the fact they are nerds, or stop doing nerd things when they get a girlfriend....Frankly I encourage my boyfriend to be a nerd. He's the one getting me into warhammer and D&D, and I love it.

As for summer.....does working 9 hours a day, 5 days a week count as a summer?

I'm going to try and go camping, Fan Expo is a definate, and....that's about it....wow my summer sucks...T_T"

Oh and I'm graduate university YAY I"M FREE!!!!

.....to work all day, pass out and do it all over again every day for the rest of my life until i retire.....ok that just killed the joy T_T....

Instead of getting a job, hanging out with my friends, or doing something otherwise worth doing, I plan on sitting right here at my compy, meeting new people and getting tubbeh. Sounds like a plan =D

I already had my "summer" adventure. Went to Anime Boston last weekend and had lots of fun doing damn near nothing

The same thing we do every night Pinky, try and take over the world.

On another note, there's probably about two days a year when I like to go outside. When it's not too hot and not too cold in the spring or fall.

This summer... I'll be looking for work, moving into my garage (which is nice and spacious and away from everyone else,) RPing as usual. Perhaps coming to the Main Threads and commenting my rare visits. I may write a story or two, go to summer school... swimming, perhaps. And, my personal favourite, sleeping in!

I plan on hibernating until it's autumn/winter again, if you must know. But aside from that I'm hitting up California in August to see my bff Grant, looking at colleges, progressing in Krav Maga, jogging at midnight when it's cooler than, you know, any time the sun is up, starting ballet... and staying inside as much as possible.

Good lord, it's hot... and sticky...

Ya my future bleak atm in terms of fun

I'm leaving tomorrow for a "High Adventure", or so my superiors call it. 2 days backpacking, 3 days canoeing. So I'm not gonna be on the forums at all next week. Oh well. S'not like anyone will miss me.

One day of school left here. It's been a full year but it only feels like five months (with vacations and weekends, it probably was). As far as work goes... volunteering at the library is simple yet effective. I'll also have a part time job for this brilliant concierge company run by my mom. Really its just accounting and scheduling work 5-7 hours a week.
The fun starts when me and my sis fly out east (US) and visit our relatives. That'll be around a week in advance of this year's family reunion (another year, another beach house). More importantly, this is the first reunion in my memory that includes both my mom's and my dad's sides of the families, my grandparents haven't seen each other since my parent's wedding. Only about two or three states separate them, but everyone's so busy lately, life being a chore and all.

It's wet and humid this summer, and it's only the beginning.

Me thinks spring time was slacking this year.
