Well, uh... I consider myself a Wolf, I had been thinking more of a folf (fox/wolf combo for those who may not know) but I guess it went to Wolf after a while. Uh... I haven't thought about it much past that though. XD

While I myself have never really imagined myself in the Furry light, my little bro is one, and I've found their whole subculture a very friendly and open one, with far less sexual undertones than some churches and whatnot will tell you.

I am curious if there are insectoid circles of Furries. I know of Scalies and Avies and whatnot, but I feel a large portion of the animal kingdom is being left out here lol.

Ok... so someone explain what does it mean to be a furry then.

Actually being a furry means you mainly use animalistic charateristics to personify yourself.

I never found any interest in it. I know one to many people who are now adults in their 30's who are into the furries only for what I'd call the "darker" side of it. They disturb me... greatly.

I won't say I didn't want to be an animal at one point or another as a child (I loved unicorns, dragons and anything with wings also large cats). But certainly not once I hit middle school and past that. I'm not an animal, so I see no reason to personify myself with or as one. /shrug

As it is, I think Furry means you have to dress up, where as being a furry fan would just be liking the genre.

I dunnoe, it's all very confusing what you consider to be what. I like the art, I appreciate costumes that merge animal and human characteristics fluidly, I think that costumes more resembling loony tunes or muppets are ridiculous and cheesy.

I can tell you right now that crosser doesn't dress up... right? lol

I'm a Christian, and I very much so enjoy being my little human self, although, let's say I was to be a furry, I'd be feline......For very, very, very many reasons.

But alas, again, I am not. However, for those who are furries on the better side of the lifestyle, I have no problem with it or making friends who enjoy it.

The furries at most cons scare the living bejezus out of me....so yeah...no.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be a hercules beetle. Tough outer shell, tower over the other insects, and you could still fly. That'd be sweet....except that horn....ok...maybe just a spider. Hunter of course...biggish...

Eh I don't dress up, I don't see a reason to. Now I would if it was easily possible or something (just for a con or something I wouldn't go out in it) but other than that no. I'm into it for the fun of it, and the idea behind it is cool... I am in the group that if given the chance would go full out anthro... but only if I could change back to my human self at will. I wouldn't want to be like that all the time because there's so many things that probably aren't possible being half human half animal.

To be honest i'm surprised there's this positive a reaction here... it's why I didn't put it down in my intro.

I've seen that CSI episode, it was the first time i'd ever seen the show anyway... it gave me negative views on furries. But after I learned about the good side I don't care... went back to watch that episode again and didn't really find it all that disturbing. (here I go abusing ellipses again... darn it)

And furry haters so far either haven't been changed, or weren't haters.

Some of us said we just don't agree or follow or find it interesting. Or we find it weird or disturbing....No one said they hated it.

I used to be a hater... but I blame a friend for making me that way. I'm glad I found out (about a year after) that he was wrong. Still can't convince him though, has something to do with ruining childhood memories. That's about as far as I should delve into that.

I have to admit, I really don't have any GOOD furry characteristics, that's why I like hiding in my closet. The way I've always figured it, it's like being born gay. Completely natural, some people are ashamed and others are very open. One plus is that furries are debatably the largest minority on the internet, it can be found in Sci-Fi and Fantasy through all sorts of mediums.

Edit: crosser is the open one when it comes to that... I just kinda really figured out I was one after he explained it to me. I always thought of myself like a cat. Playful, sneaky, a bit lazy and laid back, along with other little qualities.
