Blood Elves, the form of elf Cale is based on, are always thought of as gay, but they do reproduce, and Kael'thas Suntrider has a girlfriend, so it is possible that they are, in general, bisexual.
It might also have something to do with the fact that male elves naturally look feminine.

You know, i always noticed that, why do the most feminine males in all books/movies/TV shows/ comics/ Games, attract the fangirls, not the actually manly ones? If i viewed it from a psycological standpoint then they would all have a certain transverse anthrethia, yet there is no way ever girl has it...

Neither the blood elves, nor the horde, are evil. The horde specifically is the more passive party out of the two groups. Best description I can give as an example is from wowwiki:

The alliance are more the close minded hate mongers. Although separate factions of the horde were corrupted in the past, they are more striving for survival and truce. Legolas, all the fangirls like legolas and he very womenly.
The bad guy from that show Inuyasha, apparently all the girls love him and is really girly looking.
