I just saw this article today.News: MAG delayed to '10, Dragon Age CE'd - Retail Radar
GameStop and GameFly now listing Zipper Interactive 256-person team shooter as arriving next January; BioWare's fantasy RPG gets extra-packed $75/$65 collector's edition with Mass Effect 2 in-game bonus. One of the centerpieces of Sony's press briefing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo was the first live demo of MAG. (See video below.) The first-party military shooter was shown being simultaneously played by 256 employees of its developer, Zipper Interactive, from a variety of points of view. Commanders will see a top-down video of the battlefield from which they can direct lower-level soldiers, who will see a grunt's-eye view.
Playable on the show floor, the PlayStation 3-exclusive MAG made an impression on many E3 attendees, who were eager to pick it up later this year. Now, though, it appears the wait may be a bit longer. Though Sony said at E3 that the game would ship in the fall, both GameStop and GameFly are now listing it as arriving in
January 2010. Conversely, Best Buy is still listing the game as arriving in October, while Amazon is not offering up a ship date at all. Sony had not responded to requests for clarification on MAG's launch window as of press time.

From the Game Informer magazine we just got in the mail today:
In the Dear GI section: (Game Informer response in bold)
QUOTE
Dead Wrong
After the release of Left 4 Dead, Valve promised a steady release of new downloadable content for the game, much like they did for Team Fortress 2. However, it hasn't even been a year since the release of Left 4 Dead and they're already announcing a sequel? We've hardly seen any of this promised DLC, so what's with the new full-priced game? Left 4 Dead 2 could easily be released as an expansion pack to the original. It's just a few changes to the director and some new weapons and zombies, so there's really no other reason that the new Left 4 Dead should even be a separate game. I'm not the only one who thinks this - there is an entire community that has instigated a boycott of Left 4 Dead 2. I hope Valve does the right thing and downgrades its plans for a full retail release. - Cody Hersman via email
The "controversy" surrounding the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 is pathetic. Have you played the full game yet? Do you know exactly how the team is improving the mechanics? Do you know all about the weapons and enemies being added? No, you don't. Furthermore, without that information, you are wholly unqualified to make any judgements relating to teh game's scope, quality, and appropriate pricing. Here's a little tip: Complaining about these things with no firsthand experience doesn't make you a gaming activist. It makes you a whiny, entitled brat.
I love GI for putting it to Cody. =D Honestly, I'm freaking thrilled that L4D2 is coming out so soon! I can't wait to use the frying pan that's been mentioned; maybe it's just me, but the idea of using it to bonk zombies in the head is killer!
Also, from the back of the magazine in the Game Over section, in the Breakdown area:
QUOTE
34,991 is the number of gamers (as of press time) that have signed an internet petition to boycott Left 4 Dead 2 because it's being made too soon.
Isn't that just sad? People just want it as DLC so they don't have to pay as much. Honestly, I don't like DLC; it usually is just an addon of existing things and a lot of game engines actually can't handle things like that. I mean, look at the glitches that happen to ESIV:Oblivion and Fallout 3 whenever you download packets of DLC; the games start glitching like CRAZY.
Anybody else want to gander a guess that most or even all of those petitioners are under eightteen? XD

I'd say most/all are under the age of 22.
Personally, it bugs me a *little* bit that they'd rather make a new game. Though with the number of changes they're making I can understand why they are.
That, and I still think that the reason for L4D2 is to distract all the nerd rage from the fact it's been 2 full years since Episode 2 was released and we don't even have word about Episode 3.

I can, if it was a full 50 dollar game, a full 8 hour play through. Sure, I dont mind waiting. But we're talking about an episode, which means its probably 2 hour gameplay... They probably just dont know how to end it

It'd be nice to at least hear some news about it if nothing else, let us know they're actually working on it and it's not another Duke Nukem.

I believe I have metaphorically broken my copy of Resistance 2. The disk has seen some extreme wear and tear in my console alone. As of now, I have beaten the campaign on every difficulty (twice on the unlockable Superhuman mode), I have reached level 60 overall (requires 10 million xp points), level 30 in competitive, a level 30 medic and 18 spec ops in cooperative, I have gotten every trophy (one requiring 10,000 accumulative player kills), and in competitive alone, I have spent 3 days fragging my foes. Meaning that I've played about 750 matches averaging 5 minutes and 13 kills per game.
Where WoW absorbs the quantity of my time, the quality is spent here. This is nothing to be proud about folks, I'm just saying I've had a lot of free time on my hands. Maybe I have rage issues, but head shotting noobs is so fun.

Twas a good play, but as Niar said, too short & there wasn't really any replay value in it for me. Glad I borrowed it from a friend & deleted the saved data.. I might get it one day when it drops in price.
For now, I'ad advise anyone with a PS3 to pick up Uncharted 2, or at least rent it out & try it. It's one of my contenders for GOTY, the Graphics are better than that of AA in my eyes, the gameplay is fluid and the Dialogue as always is humorous, but well written. Cannot wait for Tuesday.

lmao, Except for the fact I was just stating his full options. Take a chill pill, and open your eyes. The PS3 *does* have games, and for me it has a lot more games I want to buy than the 360 ever will. I was playing with 2 of my friends, and managed to get 5/7 religions in the game. Along with that early UN thing (Apotholetic Palace or something? The diplomatic victory means) Anyways! So, my one friend who has like 8 years experience decides he wants to end it after 3 hours, and declares war on me. Pumping out so many units and i really have no defense at this point. So he tramples my furthest out city, and i turn all my production to Musket men and my research towards Riflemen. As he tramples my next two cities, he razes one and keeps the other. Gets to my capital which at this point I have set my research to 0% to get max income to upgrade my musket men, and my capital has a decent number at this point. I ended up wiping out 65 of his special musket men (i forget what they're called. Ottoman special unit) by the end of the game (most of which on the first defended attack. Note: he didn't use siege cause he wasn't expecting that big of a defense and we're all tired.)
So, he changes strategy and starts wiping out my upgrades... and as i'm doing hit and runs with a few of my defenders my Apotho thingy vote comes up for me and diplomatic victory and I go "Lets see if I have enough population left to win this" what I didn't realize is, he declared war on my other friend who actually had Buddhist towns so we both voted for me (the attacker did too, i thought maybe he just wanted it to end, didn't realize that it was a voting to win.) So instead of another hour of combat and his eventual victory, i pulled a win out of my ass with a diplomatic victory

League of Legends - <.< Ok I think I'm within my NDA by chatting a bit on a forum (being a non-member of the press and what not), but the beta is addicting.
If you've never played DOTA in WAR3, their short battles between two sides, with minions (npc mindless drones) pushing along 3 lanes against each other, with turret stop points (which require focusesed attacks by heros (the players) to take out, eventually battling to the other team's defense. Add in levels for heroes, 3 abilities and 1 super ability, as well as an equipment shop with many numbers of items (lower level items can be combined for higher level items), as well as creeps, and cash and what not.
It's very exciting, and there's a ridiculous variety of characters (30+ at the moment) and no two characters share the same abilities, so it gets rather chaotic and fun.
Newest Favorite Character - Technician - He builds turrets, fires weak long range missiles at heroes, and tosses a grenade that blinds/stuns for a short amount of time. His ultimate ability reduces cooldowns and allows him to upgrade his turrets (if they survive).
Well, end game these turrets start really ramping up in power and taking people out. The character is rather slow, and cumbersome, and weak, but I've found if I'm getting attacked I can drop a turret and start running, and because the enemies are chasing, teh turret just whittles em down, it's pretty fantastic.

I should have defined rabid...
Someone who has absolutely no reasonable proof of their position, and whose only arguments amount to: But PS3 has Blu-ray, PS3's online gaming account is free!, and Blargh! Halo sucks, why would I want a 360? Oh yeah, and my personal favorite...
"Pft! You have a Wii? How far have you gotten in Hello Kitty: Island Adventures you fag?"
but yeah, I agree with you. As long as a game is good, then the console doesn't really matter. In terms of the variety of games, I think that the 360 is clearly superior to the PS3. However, I will concede that, graphically, the PS3 kicks ass.
In truth, if I could afford it, I'd have a wii, a 360, and a PS3. As it is though, I'm broke, so I sold my Wii, and I'd rather have the wider variety of games possible with the 360.

QFT
I've become extraordinarily tired of people ragging on the Wii, citing that it has only around 5 good games while the rest of its roster consists of kid-oriented bullsh*t. The only reason that no good 3rd party developers make games for the Wii is because the Wii doesn't have a pre-existing graphics and rendering program. It
has a customization function that can allow its graphical capabilities to rival the Xbox360 (as seen in Super Mario: Galaxy), but building graphics for every game from scratch is rather tedious, especially when the developer in question could just port the concept to the 360 and PS3 and save loads of time. And time is money.

The only reason that no good 3rd party developers make games for the Wii is because the Wii doesn't have a pre-existing graphics and rendering program. It has a customization function that can allow its graphical capabilities to rival the Xbox360 (as seen in Super Mario: Galaxy), but building graphics for every game from scratch is rather tedious, especially when the developer in question could just port the concept to the 360 and PS3 and save loads of time. And time is money.
It does not have the graphical abilities the 360 or ps3 has... its barely ps2....
its has some fun games... but most of its games are complete and utter ass... i should know. I work at a video game store. I see the utter shit lining the shelves. No name companies trying to make a quick buck off the non-gamers who purchased the shitty system.... which is what it is... SHITTY. it has zelda and mario... Plus smash bros... That is all it has... no kirby so far, and a ton of random ubi soft and creation and all kinds of other crap.
It is Crap crap crap crap.
YAY new super mario bros

the only game coming out for the wii i want to play. and that is a remake of a remake.

While I don't know about the claim regarding graphics....
Like I said, I owned a Wii, and I liked it quite a bit. It had some excellent games. Admittedly, perhaps too many of them were aimed at non-gamers, but to say that the system was crap in such a sweeping generalization.... that just makes you a rabid anti-fan. And that's almost worse than a rabid fan.
I mean, sure, the system had it's flaws, but so do the 360 and the PS3, as we just pointed out.
Also, to say that "[you] should know. [you] work at a video game store." is like saying that since you live in a predominantly white neighborhood, black people are inferior. It's a completely ridiculous and unfounded statement. Have you played all the games that you claim are crap? If not, you really don't have a right to declare them as crap. I've played quite a few games for the PS3, and I can honestly say that a lot of them were crap. The rest, I came to that conclusion when friends with similar gaming interests informed me that the games were indeed crap.
I haven't gotten similar information regarding a lot of Wii games, so I'm forced to conclude that your opinions are based in simple opinion rather than any sort of empirical evidence.

The Wii has kid-oriented games because... That's the target consumer! It's like the DS, anyone can make a game for it. Does that automatically mean every game ever that comes out for it is terrible? No. Personally I love the whole get up and do the motions aspect of it. It's a shit-load of fun when you have a bunch of friends over (Or your bitch of a mom cuts loose with her post-menopausal friends after six or seven margaritas) and shove your shame under the carpet. It has some serious games (LoZ, Brawl, etc.), some semi-serious ones (Wii Fit, Wii Outdoor Challenge), and some retarded yet enjoyable ones (Wii Play, Wii Boogie, Wii Sports, Raving Rabbits).

Oh, I love Raving Rabbids.
Cooking Mama was alright. Irritating, but it's good as a time waster. Also, Trauma Center: Under the Knife and the other Trauma Center title were both really good. The only downfall to the newer TC title was the difficulty of some of the later operations; you HAD to have a partner or you'd fail, even on easy.
