I want to thank everyone who participated in the LFG Charity Auction, especially the artists who donated time and effort into their work. All in all, it was a success, and definitely something we’ll be doing again in the future.
Again thank you, and we cut the check this afternoon for the cafe.
In other completely unrelated news, is anyone else joining me in unprecedented nerd-excitement at the movies that are coming out over the next few months?

Two things:
First OMG I cannot believe how much getting killed by Richard went for! You guys should auction stuff off like that more often! It's fun to see yourself drawn by Lar! (I had to privilidge in a LICD strip)
Second, I cannot WAIT for Star Trek! My friends and I are already planning opening night shenanigans.

I'm starting to get scared at how high my hopes are for some of this summer's movies. Terminator 3 was pathetic and drove me to despair about the future of the franchise. Every trailer I see for T:Salvation is making me giddy and I'm terrified that I am hoping for too much.
I haven't been this excited about a Star Trek movie in ages. The last one that I thought was any good was First Contact. The trailers look great. I've heard of a bunch of highly positive reviews saying it's the best one besides Khan. If it can live up to those standards then I need to see this film.
I've got no real interest in Wolverine. They lost me with X3. However, if I hear a lot of positive word of mouth from my friends, I might waste a couple of bucks on a ticket. I don't expect that is going to happen if what I heard about the leak is true. The game looks like it might be fun though.
Harry Potter looks good this year too. I like that they are finally getting into the books that have some nice dark tones.
So yeah, I'm getting geeky about this summer's movies.

I am looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, it looks epic and I think they have some really great actors and the over all presentation looks amazing. The new Dragonball movie is just depressing, there is no Krillin [my fav char

] and Goku is in hishschool, WFT!!!!!!!!!!! the movie alone looks awful and i wish that it would never get released. And same goes for the new X-Men movie, it doesn't follow the comics in the least bit, gambit is Wolverines brother (fail). Gambit is supposed to be a rather lanky thief :unsure:from New Orleans (Cajuin accent). And the speical effects for the film seem like they were done by someone who just started. So all and all I'm pretty dissapointed, but the Star Trek movie gives me more than hope for the future sucess of comic based movies; common Avengers movie!!!

Being the hyper little fangirl I am, and almost in tears back in November, I'm heading to the cinema as soon as Harry Potter comes out..

Oh how I wish I had the money to bid on any of these items. Not just cause Richard is my hero, but because that charity sounds great. Maybe another time. On the Movies note, Star Trek might be good. Terminator will be good,I demand it. I plan to slap every one of my friends that tries to tell me DBZ was worth anything at all....I mean, seriously...it reeks already. Xmen had me excited, but the shiny has worn off already. Harry Potter...no, not after the last one. Never again will they look as good in my mind... the cinematography was bad..and to be able to say THAT about a MOVIE. . .Nossir...not gonna see it. But one thing amazes me. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .NO ONE HAS MENTIONED TRANSFORMERS 2?!?!?!?!?!? Yes, yes I am getting geek glee over that one. So much in fact that I had to register to point out to you all that you seem to have overlookd THE MOVIE OF THE SUMMER!

I absolutely can not wait for Terminator: Salvation. I mean, a lighting director got his ass handed to him and probably shit-canned. It HAS to be good. Also, X-Men Origins just looks sweet. I'll even forgive putting that pussy Cyclops in there because they FINALLY threw in Gambit!!!!! Star Trek, I am actually excited about. I really am not too big of a fan of the shows nor the movies but this one looks badass.
Also, those auctions were sweet. I am too poor to afford any of them, but man do I wish I was living off a trust fund so I could have.
...Wow. That totally came across the wrong way. I am not implying anyone who bid was on a trust fund nor that people on trust funds are lesser people. Thank you for allowing me to politically correct myself twenty seconds after posting. ^.^

Blah, last Transformers were bullshit, as was X-Men 3, as was Terminator 3. They've surely learned how to ruin a potentially good movie. Harry Potter was decent tough. I have hopes for the new HP, Terminator: Salvation and Star Trek, but I don't expect something spectacular. No one mentioned the recently released "Watchmen", I think it was awesome, I would recommend it to anyone(who has 2,5 hours to spare, 'cause it's a long one).

It really is amazing how many people came out and gave money to this charity. Even if I couldn't contribute.
As for movies, Star Trek definitely has my attention. And the Transformers movie certainly is going to a high point to my summer. Not so sure about X-Men movie though. Being the comic geek I am, I nitpicked the last movie a little. And the fact that they sewed Deadpool's mouth shut and various other design changes is putting me off a little, but we'll see.

Hehe, I wish I could afford some of that stuff, too.. I had messages up all over the place asking what the best way for me to be able to get about $1000 in a week.. Sadly, most people I know suggested drug dealing.. o.O

I'm kind of holding my breath for the new Star Trek movie. I grew up watching the original series and will be
very surprised if they manage to do it justice. I'm sure William Shatner feels the same way.
Otherwise, Go Wolverine!

I wish I could have bid in the Auction, but I only have about 75 dollars in my name... I can't even remotely compete with the 1500 dollar bid I just saw @_@; Pity me, for I barely have enough cash to wipe my... brow... with... I'm gonna shut up before I regret having hands/mouth... o_o;
Goodluck with the auction regardless! I DO intend one day to buy something from you two (Lar and Sohmer)... Most likely something potentially combustable or containing Richard on it... OR BOTH!
Edit: Why? I forgot have in the first line... Makes things... Confusing...

Oh yeah...complete geek-girl in me coming out.
I'm on pins and needles waiting for HP, Transformers and Star Trek.
X-Men just became a whole heck of a lot more interesting now that I've heard Gambit will be introduced at last (he was my favorite character and thanks to whomever posted that tidbit)
I will fully admit to being insanely excited about the upcoming DBZ movie.
I will leave off with my question of the day (it's okay to laugh at me...I'm having a little chuckle at my own expense).
With the upcoming old-school anime cartoons-turned-movies, when are they gonna make Sailor Moon into one?
