***Update, Monday April 13***
This is just to let you know that only 1 day remains on the auctions. Please bid today and help us reach our goal of 5,000 CAD!

***Please scroll down to the bottom of this post for an important new auction!***
For quite some time now, I have been searching for a charity to get myself, and the LFG community involved in. As it happens, I found one really close to home, called ‘Le Cafe’.
Le Cafe has a very simple goal. Twice a week, they serve dinner to anyone who needs it. No matter age, religious or national affiliations, no matter who you are, if you are hungry, if your family is hungry, come to Le Cafe. They will feed you.
And that, well, that’s something I can get behind.
Aside from volunteering my personal time at this organization, we wanted to see what we could to raise money for this service. Rather than a simple donation drive, we thought to do something a little different, and with that, I present the first LFG Charity Auction.
5 very talented artists donated their time and materials to create 5 original, and very unique takes on the LFG world. Each piece is a one of a kind creation signed by the creator.
Through Ebay, we will be auctioning off these 5 pieces beginning immediately, with the auction ending in 7 days. Please note that there are NO shipping charges, as we will cover the costs to ship this item to you, no matter where in the world you might be.
If the pieces alone aren’t enough, we are also including LFG Volume 1 & 2 (signed by Lar and I), along with a Richard Figurine with each painting.
And now, enough of my chatting, let’s see what we have, shall we?

Special Auction!
***
In addition to the art, Lar and I have decided to auction something ourselves. We are now auctioning the right to get killed by Richard in an upcoming Looking for Group comic. The winning bidder will guest star in LFG, as well as receive a framed copy of his/her appearance.
This is a once in a lifetime thing we're doing, so if you've ever thought about facing off with Richard, now's the time to bid. Please bid generously, as 100% of the proceeds go to feeding people, children, who sorely need it.
Let the auction begin!

Hmm, that Richard one is tempting...
I wonder how mad my Wife will be, considering the last expenditure...
It is awesome you guys are doing this. Thanks for your generosity and keep up the great work!

Can we provide a picture of a friend instead, as a gift-type-thing? I'd much rather see one of my friends killed by Richard than myself.

Omg, murdered? That's gotta be the most interesting auction thing I've ever heard of. LFG's gotta be on of the few that can pull that off... XD 'Tis awesome.
But bidding is already over $300, and I is broke. And jobless. And several thousand dollars in debt. o.x And that prolly makes things sound worse than they really are... ^^;
Ignore me. *nods*

That is a great auction! I've been a long time reader, first time poster. Though I do not have the funds to be slaughtered by the all mighty Richard, I am interested in donating to the charity either way. It sounds like a worthy cause, and kudos to you guys for getting behind it! So, as a suggestion on how to generate more revenue for the charity, maybe make up a donator wallpaper that a base donation of, say $1-$5 will get you a digital copy (assuming Lar doesn't have enough on his plate atm lol). I have seen it work with some success and might entice a few of your viewing base. either way i would like to make a donation. How can they be contacted and where can i send a donation?

If I wasn't so broke I would totally participate in this, because its such a good cause, and it would be interesting to see the creative way Richard comes up with to kill the lucky winner! ;_;

I think this is the greatest idea. Though I do agree with Fizz, being a poor college student I can't afford those auction prices but I would still like to contribute something. I find that this is a very great idea and would love to show my support hopefully there is someway that I can afford. I hope the auctions go well though!

I signed up just to say that I find this to be absolutely absurd; what kind of a person would bid on a whim just to be murdered in a comic?! That is ridiculous!! And you should be ashamed.
.......it's by Richard eh?
Let me break open my piggie bank.
((LOL ::: I hope everyone understands my first paragraph was a joke. I would so start bidding if I could...))

Awww... that auction idea is simply amazing! If only i had the money to give the getting killed to my boyfriend for his birthday.... -.- He'd love it more than anything! Sadly, the amount is just too high for me anymore... but I'm glad to see the money going to something so good. ^.^
I wish luck to everyone on the auctions and (from one artist to another) beautifuly done artwork... everyone of them!

Also a long time reader, first time poster.
I just had to say I am greatly impressed by this auction, and the individuals that are donating so much for such a wonderful cause.
I hope Richard kills you well, you high bidders you!

Hey gang!
I would love to bid on some of these (I loooove Benny's eye), but alas, I'm hanging on by a mere thread paying off student loans and credit card debt (oh the joys of having put yourself through college).
I agree that I would like to somehow make some sort of small donation anyway - I can budget $20 towards a good cause. Any way y'all could swing that somehow?

Hey, I have been a long time reader, even bought one of your t-shirts. This is my first post, but what you guys are doing is absolutely amazing! I added up the totals of the auctions, and it was over $3100 Canadian. I would LOVE to bid on getting murdered by Richard, but alas, I am taking my wife to Mexico in the summer, or else I would bid. *sigh* being not rich sucks.

Is there a website we can donate to Le Cafe if we either can't do the auction or want to provide some ongoing financial support for this worthy cause?
Thanks

I wanted to take a minute to say that I think it is amazing you guys are able to use your powers for this much good.
ALL the auctions are doing wonderfully, and I'm so freaking glad I am witness to this kind of awesomeness.

Psst, Sohmer, I'll give you a life's supply of Creme Eggs to get the victim of Richard to instead Impale him, even though it won't do anything..
That & I have a ocean full of stew ready to donate.
But on a serious note, really amazed at the amounts of money going into this; it's a lot of food for those people, very big pat on the back to everyone who've bid, amazing cause to put your money toward.

hmm... i wonder how much it is in GBP... either way, over CA$1000 is above and beyond my means, so i never had a chance ^.^. sadly. Oh the joys of having Richard use my blood for something nefarious. of having my skull used as an object of mockery. I would pay for that, and (apparently) so would a couple of hundred others! congratulations to the lucky winner

I think it's great that so many people are so willing to support such a great cause, and if I wasn't the poor young student I am I would jump at the opportunity. This may have just encouraged me to reach out in my own community as well, something I thank you for.
I wonder how much it would cost to have Richard perform at a birthday party...

$242.50 for The Eye of Benn'Joon. That is the most anybody has ever paid for one of my paintings. It gives me a warm feeling to know it went to a good cause. Thanks for the opportunity, Sohmer.
