So, I just arrived home from the theater in the mall across town. A friend of mine asked if I wanted to watch a movie, and thinking nothing of it, I accepted.

Aside from the couple in the front row laughing every five or so minutes, I thought the movie excellent!

There are many a Christian reference, and because I'm well learned in religion, it made the movie more "deep", so to speak. (I only say this because my friend's twelve year old brother walked out saying, "This movie sucked." I'm guess there wasn't enough blood for him. Ah well, kids need to be kids.)

I won't state any of the plot contrivances, but if someone else has seen the movie, feel free to, (make sure you label your spoilers), share your personal ideas on it.

Personally, I believed the movie to be very thought provoking, and this is coming from someone who still fails to fit under a specific category of religion. (I won't get into that on this forum.)

I was just curious, if anyone else has gone to see it, how it was received.

I want to see it, it looks pretty interesting. Though I may not go see it, I get a little paranoid when it comes to theories about the world ending. >_>; Heh.

The Anime? Never.

I've only seen numerous references to it, but I never actually had the initiative to watch it myself. Now that you've said that though, I will make sure to check it out sometime this week.

It has insane amounts of religious and psycological subtext. The last two episodes will also break your mind.

On 'Knowing' - Bible + Hollywood = bad movie especially with the 'end times' stuff.

Eva gives an idea of what a bad acid trip is like. Add to the fact the guy who created it was declared legally insane at some point in his life. The biblical references were so far off base it was pathetic.

like overripe grapes

i loved the movie escept for a certain scene at the end involving....multiple "Glowy" things
it kinda ruined the vibe i think it would have been better with just...one but could have excepted more...how to frase this...chocholate bars waiting at the site the fact there were more kinda ruined the vibe i think

also the ending "FIREPLACES" scene was a little to violent or rather it should have ended with the family hugging and the white light everything after it felt rather unecesarry, that said they should have still kept the wide shoot the the planet after it to show what went down
