@rayne: that would be teaching you to regurtitate this like a trained monkey. Wich is fine for solid facts like history, or english. Not so much with math ( it's like saying "the man drank water, now he has to pee" in health, doesn't really explain more than cause and effect )
They're teaching you what's behind the processes taking place. And why these things happen the way they do.
@richard : yeah, but goin from physics back to basic geometry?IIRC My exact words were "fuck you, I had this finished in 6th gade."
That...is not...what I meant...
Look, I don't mean telling me to, as you phrased it, regurgitate like a trained monkey. I don't mean "the man drank water, now he has to pee". I mean like showing me what goes on, and telling it to me in terms that aren't made up of thirteen character words. I find that pointless, since you then have to tell me what that word means (heh...I haven't said THAT in a long time) when you could have easily explained it in only a few more syllables with mostly normal words. Why the hell should I know what that word means, when the only time it applies is in
this exact instance?
And, might I tell you, that was awkward for me to say, because I'll admit I usually love new words... but, beyond words like "cumbersome", which can be used in numerous conversations... do you get it now?
LITERALLY, if someone showed me what to do once, maybe twice, I could probably get through a surgery without much effort. This is easy for me, partially because I have learned the human body fairly well (but no, thanks much, I can't tell you the scientific name for...say...the hip bone).
For example... I've honestly only had a few somewhat-oozing-blood wounds in my life before. I've only seen a few bleeding wounds before. I've only paid attention to one of them (though, yes, I avidly watched ER back in California...lol) as it was being fixed up. But, when the time came, and my finger was starting to bleed all over the place, I took care of it like I'd had it happen to me a million times before. This is a very poor example, but it's the first one that came to mind. Don't bother telling me how that "doesn't compare", because I already know it's not exactly the same as, say, a surgery... but to me, it's really all the same... partially because in my mind, I have all the examples I need, but I can't make very many of them tangible...

Thank god, I did 2/3 of the paper tonight... sort of... it's over at last!
Grats!
And hay thar, Red.
Edit: Okay, first and foremost, did I ever say anything about brain power, Baeron? No. I said advanced math. What part of "there's no need to complicate things" is so hard to understand? Formulas on top of formulas on top of formulas; if you think me not liking this means I can't grasp it, fuck you. Give me three hours with proper explanations and I could learn advanced maths.
Hell, I plan on telling my parents to teach me a few things later tonight as it is; they, at least, understand that I learn quickly and don't need complicated explanations over relative thoughts.
