I think it was more the way she gets up in the middle of the night to go save him from certain death. And I agree, Cale and Pella are adorable together.. but Cale/Benny was just a thought..

Cale gave Benny a shoulder to cry on because she just lost her entire family. He'd have to be pretty heartless to stand there and watch her cry without giving any kind of comfort, and a real shady SOB to take advantage of her after that. :/ Character development notwithstanding, I don't think romance was the desired end result here.

cale swore his life to protect benny (stated on page 7), and benny was already married before,though it was to her lovers father, and has experienced love, ergo i firmly believe that,though much evidence is supporting beny+ cale = love, that benny does not love cale and vice versa.........

No, because Cale and Richard will fall in love with each other and will adopt Fellbunny as their kid (the archmage, yes). Furthermore, Richard is made from chocolate and actually Cale's father, and Benny was his mentor in the past. He has to obtain a valuable relic in a temple, but when he does that a stone rolls after him, chasing him to the end.

When people look at benny and cale, they don't look at physical compatibility, like the race thing (at least I don't). I think its more their personalities that make the idea of benny and cale so appealing. Of course nothing in the comic so far is necessarily a hint at any relationship, but people conjure it because they like romance and what to see them come together. Often times people (sometimes subconsciously) relate themselves to certain traits of the main characters in stories. When a character of the opposite sex is created with appealing qualities (i.e. benny is kind, loving, and a very strong woman who can obviously take care of herself, and cale is brave, honest, and that knight in shining armor that most every woman wants), we tend to want to create romance between a character we relate ourselves to with a character who holds characteristics we find appealing in a partner (if that makes sense).

At least thats my idea behind it.

I get slightly eccentric when I'm tired. Anyway, Im not trying to condone having relations with troll women. However, while it would seem unnatural for us, it may not be such an unnatural occurance in the fantasy world. After all, people don't judge another person by the color of their skin irl (at least most people don't, which is unfortunate that I have to mention it), so maybe in a world where someone with green skin is a common thing in society, why not start looking past color and start seeing someone for what they are? Again, if I saw a green woman with three fingers and snaggleteeth, I wouldn't go bumping uglies, no matter how stacked she was, but in another world and another society, who knows?

Anyway, the point I'm trying to get across is this: People try to pair cale and benny up because they are looking at it from the fantasy aspect, not how realistic the relationship would be irl.

He calls her his "green kid" and she looks at him like a father. That is their history. That does not lead to a relationship.

And to the people saying, "Eww, green women," we're dealing with fantasy here. Half-breeds don't come from nowhere. Given that she was born in the depths of a dungeon (189), we can assume her parentage came from cellmates of some sort. I, myself, dislike the prison romance aspect of her birth more than her geneology or coloring. But that's just me.

As for Benny and Cale... I don't know. We'll see if anything develops. I get the feeling that Cale will eventually fall for one of his female cohorts and I really don't mind which one it turns out to be.

Back to topic. Yes it would be psychological incest between Benny and Krunch, but who knows, could be that kind of father daughter relationship or could of been something else. I stand by that we're in a "We don't know" view of how their relationship is despite what we may or may not thing. Can't see Cale and Ben due to the fact of their opposite views and mentality of each other and don't see a very strong feminine character like her being with Cale who is a constantly shifting character type. See more of a Cale/Pella due to her guilt of deciving him if it turns out that way.

Erm, actually, for me the vest argument with a benny/cale is 'Opposites attract'.
