Ok, Sorry , But honestly (this is on topic) I don't see any kind of "thing" between Benny and Cale. They might be friends but they don's seem to quite click.

Now, I know that we've seen no indication that Cale has any interest in any of the characters in more than a friendship way, I think it's interesting to note that if he did have a thing for Benny, he still wouldn't go for it. Leastways, not now.

I mean, right about now, she's at her lowest point. Most of her family is probably dead. The place she grew up has just been conquered. Now would probably be the best chance Cale, or anyone for that matter, would have of putting themselves out there and being the shoulder to lean on. Some might use a situation to open the door for a relationship, but I doubt Cale would take advantage of her situation like that.

Yeah, I don't see anything happening in the near future. But... you never know

If Krunch turns up dead, she is going to need a LOT of emotional support. And Cale is of coarse the natural canidate.

For me, this comic isn't meant to contain romance. AT ALL. If you noticed... this comic has 200+ pages and barely any mushyness.

If the first part involves more Richard, DEFINENTLY the first part. Richard is by far the best part of this comic. And i don not think mushy belongs in this comic, i much prefer the fighting and the killing, especially when Richard is doing the fighting and the killing. Benny and Cale, pfft, Cale is to much of a wuse to start anything and Benny is to damn stubborn. Besides Mushy would ruin this comic, Cale and his group is somewhat interesting, but with Romance it would become complete Bor-snore. Richard would become the only good thing in the comic, i would still read it, but instead of mainly Richard and some for the rest, it would just become for Richard, romance=big no.

I completely agree with you, romance doesn't quite fit in this comic.

Well, we've seen almost enough of Benny to assume all of her parts are in the right place. While we have less information on elven anatomy (most we've seen Cale take off is his shirt) , I don't see what could be all that different in the same humanoid shape.

Of course there are those who still claim Cale is a woman, but they could always be gay together. That's still mechanically possible.

Cale and Benny, imagine the pointy eared, green skined offspring they'll have.

But seriously, it seems like a good couple to me, of course I'm a sucker for mixed species.

If they can actually have babies that can have babies themselves, they are scientifically, the same species. Two organisms are only different species if they can't have babies together, or, if they can, the offspring is sterile, or unable to survive naturally.

Ah but you forget, this is fantasy, the normal rules of physics and even basic biology don't need to apply, in most fantasy any sentiant species can mate with another sentiant species and create an all new one

Fine, an organims can mate with an organism and produce offspring, but they are still part of the same secies then. So in fantasy worlds, everyone is the same species, they are just a VERY genetically diverse species

-.- BoLE in D&D(for an example) Dragons can mate with anything, sentiant or not, and produce half-dragon offspring, that are not sterile and are better than their second half in everyway

Perhaps Cale is Richards Father and Richard is nothing more than a time traveler from the future who, by meeting his father, is effin' up the space time continium by constantly touching him and talking to him and therefore messing up all that we know as life until a gigantic Spagetti Monster comes down and devours all in its path!

While it's fun to speculate, I don't think we'll ever see any kind of romance in LFG, for the simple reason that this just isn't that type of comic. Sohmer keeps LICD around for romance and non-fantasy humor.

And BoLE's not trying hard enough...Richard would have said something about having a supply of fresh beef, not milk. I seriously doubt he'd drink milk. Maybe blood.

You know... its kinda wierd.

Sometimes i just say things and suddenly realize they are oddly Richardish... (as the milk thing was)
Then the other times i actually try to sound Richardish.

My guess is that since i've tried to emulate Richard for so long, that i am starting to actually slowly become Richardish. DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!!!!!!

Maybe Richard wasn't joking when he said he was Cale's mother. Look at page 1....Cale is greeting the world, seem waaaaay too ignorant of certain things, doesn't even know his race is evil...As far as I can remember, there's NO reference anywhere of Cale's backstory..It's like he popped into the world right before page 1.

Maybe Richard created him...or had a hand in it... It would explain his continued "support" and interest in Cale. Or the Archmage created Cale and Richard was aware of it and tweaked things, or is trying to mold Cale for his own amusements.

Well, if this takes a little inspiration from D&D, where apparently Dragons can mate with Rocks.. i don't see why a cross-species is impossible. (even though it breaks every biological law every theorized.)

I didn't say it was impossible physically.
Same with a lot of people in real life: Some folks don't care what race their significant other may be, while many prefer to date exclusively within their own.

You and Moocow need to use the PM feature if you're bored and want to chat with each other late at night. Seriously. I just got online, looked around, and you two have spammed half a dozen topics in the Comic forum alone with dozens of posts which are just you two leaving comments for each other and not actually discussing the topic at hand. Several folks keep straying off topic; throwing in an occasional on-topic sentence now and then doesn't make it OK to carry on an entirely different conversation in a topic. That's what the PM feature is for, that's what General Discussion and the Jibber Jabber thread are for.
There are several others who need to pay attention to this comment as well. There's going to be topic closures and suspensions if this trend continues. I really hate closing good topics.

Lol, Devin, Elf and Troll isn't as much a matter of race as it is a matter of species. Crossbreed Species are unable to produce offspring. Crossbreed races are.

Either way, don't see Cale and Gid as the racially (or species in this crazy fantasy world) exclusive type.

Race or species doesn't matter, especially in a fantasy setting where practically anything is possible. I only referred to race as an example we can all relate to. Some like dating other races. Some don't.

If Cale and Benny did fall for each other, they'd hook up regardless of species or ability to procreate. It has nothing to do with any physical attribute; it's the mental outlook. You're going to go after the person that most appeals to you personally, regardless of what they are or what they look like, or what others think.
From what we've seen of his behavior, I believe Cale is much more likely to desire a female elf who holds the same values as he, especially since he's supposed to be a king, is likely at least somewhat related to the Vulli and will need an heir.
