The last panel was indeed kind of cute, but... I would very much like to see the ewoks burned alive next panel. What? Too much?

You know, now that I think of it, Benny never referred to Krunch by name. He was always "Him" or "Old Cow".

I'm conflicted on this page. On one hand, it's the same as issue five's end. After a dramatic revelation (Krunch's father has doomed the north and his people) that was built up right before the end, Richard pulls out a random musical number. This dulls the impact of what has been revealed and gives it less trauma.

But, having said that, this is not a drama comic. Looking for Group is not about sadness and loss and pain. Ending volume two on a high, yet random, note is what LFG is all about. It's a parody, and yet its own story.

So... good move or bad move on Sohmer's part, I can't really decide.

I'm going to have to agree with Dmh3000 on that note... I think they added the Ewoks and the song just for the plucky comic relief, instead of having this page where no words can actually be spoken.

EDIT: I wonder if Benny or the mages could possible revive any of them... or maybe Krunch and Ray'd and some others managed to escape before the magefire reached them...?

As someone has mentioned, one of Richard's main roles as the Lord of the Dance is to take serious and/or emotional situations and do something totally left field to what is expected as a means to dispelling the mode. Why does he do this? He's Richard....that's all you gota say....quite frankly I would have been shocked if there were no Richard antics.

BTW, laughed pretty loud there despite the fact I hate Ewoks.

I found it amusing. Sorry, but the Ewoks could be worse, and to be honest, what other filler would be as humorous? Because Richard was up to do something humorous now, and I can't see humorous plot development ahead...

Ewoks, brilliant, just... just brilliant, i know you guys arn't really agreeing but i read this comic for the laughs (Richard) so yah.... fun stuff! They did to papa bloodrage and his armor and the other skeletol remains what they did to dead stormtroopers... hehe.

The comic (or at least my opinions of it) must be evolving. This was the first time I've ever wanted to smack Richard and hug Benny. She's never referred to Krunch as her father before. ;_;

*Sighs* 3 Days wait and we get another Ewok joke... Honestly, who didn't see Richard trying to pull something like this off? Raise your hands, really.

His stunts get less funny everytime he tries... anyway, disappointed with today's update, other than Richard being an ass to Benny (who I'm sure will be filled with an urge for vengeance and bloodlust) nothing really happened and there isn't much o say about Richard's antics 'gain.

So.... Yeah, bring on Monday, hopefully with another Bad guy PoV.

Well (first post here) I read LFG ritualisticly, and me and my friend discuss it daily as well. Today is different its my birthday...
They just made my whole day worth it. Plus the dirty looks Richard got from everybody made me grin.

I didn't really find anything funny on this page, after a three days wait i would have expected a bit more

... I'd love to see Richard 'fwoom' the Ewoks in the next page. Please? Pleeease? Or have Benny do it, it'd be good for her.

While I'm no fan of the little furballs, I couldn't fathom two consecutive pages of a somber, depressing mood. Something had to happen, and the over-the-top nature of the musical number adds to the "ouch" factor found in Krunch/Ray'd/Daddy BR's demises.

Seriously: juggling skulls, balancing skeletons to try and make them dance, bullfighting (as mentioned earlier), fashion shows, and Latin percussion on the skulls of the dead. All with a song in their heart.

After this and with the inevitable revenge attack, dare I type...heads will roll?

Way to go for ruining an emotional,sad moment,Ewoks...*sigh*

I'm disturbed by the idea comic.

I think it was because it was the ewoks. I'm not an ewok hater, but this is the SECOND time we've seen them in a similar manner. it seems strange tome that Sohmer and Lars would do the same pun again, even if it was in a different scenario. It makes it seem, to me at least, that they want to extend this storyline for as long as possible.

Did i think it was funny, yes. especially the mage in the first panel shooting birds and the gags the ewoks do (wearing the digger chick helmet and poppa bloodrage's armor)

I am very torn about this page... On the one hand, I love the fact the ewoks are using the bones of the dead to play around. On the other hand, I HATE EWOKS! On the third hand, Benny and Cale in the last panel = win. (<3 Benny/Cale)

Also, from what I can see, Krunch isn't among the bones. Based on the horn patterns, I'm pretty sure I can make out papa bloodrage, possibly Rayd's in the 8th panel (hard to tell from the angle), in fact most of the bloodrages' horns pointed downward, not up. So here's hoping?

The people's expressions as Richard looks around are priceless...
They seem to say 'wtf was THAT supposed to mean???'
Awkward...

Once again, Benny forgets she can resurrect people.

One might mention the point that we actually never saw Krunch die. What we saw in [224 was a sword cutting Papa BR and we saw Krunch reacting to it. We even saw the Gnome leader diving INTO the hole in the ground and referring to the only other person in the last panel (Krunch) as "The day is lost". The damage we've seen done by the dragons and archers is fire damage, which is surface damage by nature... Which means a hole in the ground might provide good protection.

Actually I expect to see Krunch again and very alive.

I'm assuming that something killed by magefire cannot be resurrected. Richard's fwoom is just fire, so it was no problem resurrecting Cale from ashes.

not quite, cale was alive-ish in the first strips. the bloodrage, gnomes and trolls are dead-dead

I'll just repeat what I said about the other Ewok episode:

There wasn't anything funny about it. It wasn't badass. I see no drama. The art wasn't anything special by LFG standards.

What is there to like?

I found the whole thing quite amusing myself. Perfect Richard moment. Honestly, LFG isn't a soap-opera...its the Mel Brooks version of them.

So...I'm thinking it going to take more than a raise dead to bring the BBQ back to life....True Resurrection maybe? I dunno...

I thought it was a great strip, and waiting the 3 days was well worth it. It made my day.


P.S: I like the ewoks more than I like big butts.

I've actually been a little disappointed here of late with the comic. Granted I'm not as hardcore as some of the people here and I love Richard and the gang as much as anyone else but imo the comic is just slow. It might be because I have only been reading it for a year and re-reading the archives I can see a/the story develop faster. It's just that I felt mondays comic was a waste of tune in and half of todays tune in was the Ewok music thing again. I got a giggle out of the first time but today I just didn't much care.

Well now... I still didn't really care for the first Ewok page, but this time around it actually worked... but at the same time, I'm not sure if it'd fit quite right without the first one to put them in place. :/

Hm... do the Starwars references keep coming in pairs of pages? Pretty sure the Luke/Obi Wan thing had two pages... Mew.

That's webcomic suicide to kill off ALL those characters.
