It is my distinct honor and privilege to share with you some information regarding Looking For Group: Volume 2. First and foremost, allow me to show off the cover, done by an artist you may be familiar with:

This limited edition hardcover is 128 pages, with an introduction by myself and a foreword by a special guest we’re not announcing just yet. The book will contain LFG Issues 5-8 and run $22.95 in all its hardcover glory.

The Book is going on pre-sale this coming Monday, January 19. Last year, for Volume 1, Lar and I signed the first 1,000 copies sold. This year, we’ll be signing the first 3,000 copies (Hello, Carpal Tunnel!). If last year is any indication, it will take between 1-2 days to sell those first 3,000. Thusly, if you’d like a signed copy, I’d suggest you order it right as soon as it goes up.

For those not in the first 3,000, pre-sale still guarantees you a book as well as a piece of art from Lar.

The pre-sale period will last 4 weeks time, in which I’ll keep you updated on how things are going. The book itself will be shipping out early March.

Once again, pre-sale begins Monday, January 19th at 12:00 AM EST.

This is pretty awesome. Might have to preorder this 'cause somebody isn't coming back to chicago this year sad.gif. But, uh, out of curiousity, wasn't the first volume issues 1-4? So wouldn't this second volume be overlapping an issue if it is 4-8?

Me wants!!!! *tries to claw through the pc* x_x
Lets see if my parents will allow me to buy it. I'll probably buy volume 1 while I'm at it too. Ahhh, just the idea of having the most awesome comic as a book in my own room. ^^
*starts to count down*

A pop-up fwoom... That would be awesome!
Chuint
I have to see if I can get ahold of this, and volume 1....so I can read it again without going through the archives for the millionth time.

A popup book I would buy!
Just...make it really sturdy paper...or plastic...really sturdy..since I have a history of unfortunate accidents with popup books. tongue.gif

Been waiting on this. The comic is much better to read in book form, in my opinion.

You know they're going to GenCON in Indianapolis again, right? C'mon, it's only a few hours' drive from Chicago. smile.gif

Ok so as much as I love LFG, I also realize I'm not made of money here and so I am hoping someone can clarify some things for me. I have issues 1-3 which I purchased online before individual issues were suspended from the online store. Since then I've been hard-copy-looking-for-group-less due to the fact that I don't have any comic shops near me and minimal transportation (or time). I'm an internet shopper. I am considering then switching to the hardcover versions which collect 4 issues. That would probably entail my buying vol 1 that way too since I'm still falling short on my quest to secure issue 4.

1.) Do these hardcover versions include the front and back covers of each issue or do they just have the actual 'comic' pages? (ie, issue 1 has Cale swinging on a chandelier that is about to break over the fight scene in a tavern, on the back is Richard stating Evil is the new love.)
2.) I noticed that Amazon has a paperback version of LFG vol 1. Is that the same thing as the hardcover vol 1 collection (only not hardcover obviously)? And if so would they likely carry paperback versions of all future LFG collections?
3.) Does anyone have any recommendations on an online comic book store that stocks LFG that I can reliably order individual issues from? I searched through several but found little that was helpful.

Thanks ya'll
Radiant
Made my day month year!

safyrejet:

I'd stay away from the "paperback" on Amazon. I am positive BFE didn't make a paperback of Volume 1, and I think that's probably a plagiarist making his or her own copies and selling them illegally.

~ edit ~
You can scratch the above comment. I got a note from the admin saying yes, they're official. They're for sale in bookstores only, hence why I've never seen it. I get all my stuff in the online store right here.
~ /edit ~

As for your other two questions:
The book starts out with artwork and a foreword by Brandon Sanderson, followed by an introduction by Sohmer. Each issue has the front cover artwork at the beginning, and the four back cover artworks are all in the back of the book. The book simply plows straight through all four issues with only the cover art interrupting the issues. No extra crap, which is a plus in my opinion. The pages are not numbered, the printing was done beautifully on thick glossy paper with a black background (the images in the book are of a much better quality than reading it online, at least on my computer), and it came with a black ribbon in the spine to use as a page marker.

Since you can't buy the comics online anymore and many people have a difficult time finding somewhere to purchase the issues, I recommend you do what I do and just wait for the hardcover volumes.
RayNight
I'm gonna buy one for sure ^^

Yea -- Been waiting for this since, well about this time last year!

Every time I make the decision to just stop buying stuff for a while, you decide to sell something awesome.

It's a good thing I'm so weak willed.

Yay! I will preorder and buy new Richard Socks!

Thanks alot Devin for the info, that helps. I think I will switch to the collection volumes although maybe I'll go with the paperback version, it's more affordable for me and I usually prefer paperback to hardcover anyway. *happy dance that I found a way to keep getting Cale and Sooba*

Unfortunately, I am a few hours in the opposite direction of Indianapolis from Chicago, so GenCon isn't as feasible as WizardWorld. That, and I go to WW to help out my brother at his table.

This is great. I could not have stood waiting any longer.
I just received number 1 with my plushie, and I am so looking forward to number 2!

I hope I can get a lot of friends of mine to partake in the order, so that my shipment costs will not be that tragic.

True that. I think he looks a little different though when he's painted.

Excellent cover! I love it.
