I saw the Richard socks. I love the Richard socks. I am buying a pair of the Richard socks.
Whyfore no toques? As a fellow Canadian I request LFG toques. It is chilly outside and toques are fashionable and wonderful for keeping the ears warm. Plus how cool would it be having one's toque staring at other people? I creeped someone out with just an owl toque and Richard would be far cooler. Or something more subtle, although personally I like the creepy factor of a toque like the socks. Anyway, I would love to see toques join the merchandise, even if the LFG-ness was embroidered rather than part of the actual knit.
For those non-Canadians, a toque is a knit hat. But cooler because it is called a toque.

Before this topic is closed, I'll add that I'd like to see a beach towel or two. Maybe some new shirts. And a navy blue hoodie with red lining and possibly an image of a gem.

Is that even possible? I've been led to believe that anything clothing-related is possible nowadays.
Also for Canadians and non-Canadians alike: toque = beanie.

Heya! I like the girlies, but are you guys going to make thongs? Maybe a suggestion: one with a bunny tail or pony tail? Or just Richards eyes on it, I am sure thats intimidating ghehe!!! But please, make it black!!! I am getting sick in my stumach from all those rainbowthongs!

No, even better would be Richard on the front with a menacing pose saying 'Come, oblivion awaits' like that page from Issue 5

How about a hoodie that looks like Richard's robe, the zipper thing could be oversized and red like his jewel.

With matching yellow Richard-eyes sunglasses and possibly partial gloves as well as wrist-warmers resembling his gauntlets...and a scarf type thing for covering the face.
Perfect for chilly weather.
I'd so buy that outfit.
Id wear it
everywhere.

I hereby concur! I love toques, and a toque with Richard eyes would well be worth my money
And the thong idea is great too, I know my girlfriend would wear it, although the 'oblivion awaits' thing might make it sound a bit... insulting. But otherwise I completely agree! Let there be toques and thongs!

I have to add my agreements too, seriously. I'd kill for a Richard beanie or a comfortable shirt with the cast on it. Even the Richard sweater, heck if those sweaters that look like cheapo skeletons that zips over someones face can sell so can a Richard themed one. I'd particularly enjoy seeing some Benny or Pella shirts that weren't baby doll style or demeaning to the characters themselves by making it ie 'girly'. (Like most shirts with female characters on them, even if they're badass they get put in a passive or frilly pink role and or never get on a shirt unless its a group shot even then its a passive girly pose, which to say the least is aggravating.)

so i talked to a bunch of people in my girlfriend's wing of the university while waiting for her to finish an exam and asked them what they thought of this idea. Many of have not read the comic but after showing them a few of the strips they loved the idea of a Richard Toque... Please Sohmer and Lar! Northern Alberta needs your toques!

In Holland its something (and other European countries) its a penis protector, that keepers wear, so that it wont hurt if you get hit in the balls by a soccerball.
Maybe for internationals sales, you should just name it a hat or something like that, cuz im sure there's going to be a lot of confusion here.

anyways, back on subject... So far I have about 20+ people looking around the city here to see if there is an embroiderer up to the task of Richard toques... there's 2 ideas going around, one being a black toque with just the eyes and the other being white-ish toques with the eyes and eyebrows with the green scar...

I bet if I worked on my knitting skills a bit I could knit a simple one with a few different colors.
Aeryck
Feb 5 2009, 06:50 PM
that would be amazing! I already asked my grandma to see what she could do... but she's not much for demons and warlocks so i doubt that'll go too far

Feb 5 2009, 07:15 PM
Well, I doubt I could do something like the socks, but I bet I could do black with a red gem on it and a red edge.

Yes, but my knitting skills are such that I haven't even learned to yarn over, slip a stitch, or increase or decrease yet.
In other words, I can't do anything that complicated.
Yet.

I gave the toque a shot last night, turned out I couldn't do the eyes to save my life... might need to get it embroidered

Crochet doesn't lend itself to complex multicolored patterns very well. At best, you can do stripes or rectangular blocks of color that you later sew or crochet together.
My knitting skills just aren't up to that level at the moment. Apparently, using several colors in knit requires a lot of dexterity. I could probably do those crochet chibi Richards/Cales, but I currently lack funding to buy the many yarn colors necessary.

I believe that a beanie would be amazing, i wear a beanie everyday of my life, and currently i am wearing my "For Pony" shirt that i got fro x-mas, but as interesting as these all sound, i would seriously love to see a lfg messenger bag, ive been looking for a bag for a long while now, and its actually really hard to find anything worth buying, if you ever make one be sure that its canvas, because who doesnt like canvas?!?!?!?!?! And make sure the beanie is large, i hate really tight beanies.
Really who doesnt love canvas!??!?!?!?!

true, crochet doesn't make shapes such as a circle very easy, same with other colors, but you can do it, it just takes some skill
also messenger bags would be great too, I know a few people that would love to have one

Holy Yes, I want a messenger bag with Richard on it. No quote, quotes become old. Just a picture. An awesome picture. Or you guys could go with iron-on patches. There's nothing like the freedom to put the patch wherever.
