Now I was curious how people would prefer...would you like the comic version of LFG? Where the characters don't move and no voices/sound? or the movie with the movement and voices?
Take your pick!

I don't entirely understand what you're asking...

Ok..you saw movie clip..hearing Cale's voice and Richards..but would you prefer that than reading the comic or vice versa?

they're different mediums, I don't really think you can choose between either like that.
So I'm going wioth both.

This sounds like a rather odd way of going about saying you want to see the movie, but ok...

do i have to choose? let´s just say this: the transition from still comic to moving pictures works very well for me, from what i´ve seen so far. cale and richard sound exactly as i imagined them, and that´s a great feat. i think LFG would work very well as a movie, so i can´t wait.
i´m a big fan of traditional two-d animation anyway, and the visual style of the comic lends itself naturally to such an adaptation.
plus the songs fit perefctly into the overall mood of the comic.
i see the movie as an extension of the comic!

I guess both, but overall I prefer the comic. I really enjoy reading them and putting my own twist on what they are trying to relay, if that makes any sense. Sometimes when watching movies I feel as if my perspective on humor or situations is forced. With a C-Strip all I have is what I percieve, much like a good book.. sometimes putting some things in a movie format can ruin it.
Seriously..did anybody watch the Dragonlance cartoon? I was glad someone finally did it, but zomg it hurt me deep all the same. Think I died a little inside.

Some things are better presented in a comic, and some are better presented in an animation. I've noticed that reading some lines aloud makes them really long and unwieldly, and possibly ill-suited for the moment, but when reading the comic you wouldn't notice that. Animation, on the other hand, provides tone of voice and subtle movement that a comic cannot capture.
In summary, they're both great.

Both...Maybe a monthly short movie and the usual weekly comic.
Fwoom!

Easily both ... the comic leaves so much to the imagination
while the movie would be able to show so much more....

Well, you obviously posted that before you saw todays page.
This comic makes it a point to leave nothing to the imagination.
Awwww yea.

i wonder, though, how the rhythm of the comic will translate to the screen. right now, it seems to me as if the rhythm and timing of the jokes are very much tailored to the one-page-at-a-time publication format. also, we have a very wandering and unlinear storyline. i´m not sure if this is going off-topic; do we have a thread where the plot of the movie and such things are being discussed? (forgive a noob for not having checked already!)

i said no, mainly because of the sound. i've seen strips that have movement, some were good as the movement was simple but a lot ruin the comic because it blocks speach bubbles before the reader has a chance to read

well, it depends on what kind of movement we get...I mean, imagination is usually better than the reality though

In my opinion, you can't really choose between the comic and the movie (what we've seen of it so far, anyway). I mean, its Richard! Richard and the group seem as funny either way, and that's the important part, right? Not whether the characters move and have a voice. Because when you're reading, they gain a voice of their own anyway.

Both definitely. One could only chose one above the other if he/she prefers comics in general over movies or vice versa.
It's 2 different types of media and the comparison level is somehow missing. Therefore, can't be compared.

I'd have to say both, I'll love LFG ether way. I wouldn't mind a movie though, he so much easier to explain the comic to people without them giving me weird looks or refusing to try it out since they have to ~GASP~ actually read.

In general, I tend to like the book or non-moving version better then the movie or cartoon version. I have a pretty vivid imagination, and when I really like a book or a comic, I tend to have very high hopes for its moving counterpart. Movies don't tend to live up to that. Seriously, does anyone remember Queen of the Damned? Murder was done that day. But I have seen examples where I like both versions very much, like Full Metal Alchemist.
In short, I will reserve judgement until the LFG Movie comes out. Though I do admit it does look good so far. :3

I agree...But the main reason it was bad was because they did not include Anne Rice into the filming process at all. Not with costumes, ideas, or anything. They just took a "neat idea" and made it their own.
though I must admit Aaliyah was fucking HAWT as Akasha

Not to mention the the actress who played the queen died right after the main scenes were done being shot. Ever wonder why half the movie you don't see her, only hear her voice? yeah, thats why.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238546/triviaBack on topic however, I agree that movies and comics are not to be compared. Ex: Garfield movie vs comic... nothing in common besides the characters.
