Well, a job isn't instantaneous money, you still have to wait for the check, which could be 2-3 weeks out

Nov 6 2008, 04:38 PM
Did you actually sell you 360 for enough to pay rent?!? I want to know who your landlords are.

Nov 6 2008, 04:56 PM

I've heard of people like you, I don't like you very much since you can get half that money by taking the pennies from all the need a penny take a penny jars!

although selling your 360 the day before getting a job sucks, i don't think you are going to find much sympathy here seeing as you only pay 50 for rent. you might get some from people who don't pay rent.

Who do you pay the $50 rent to? My mom charged me more than that when I was living at home!

my dad, it starts at 50, then goes up by 50 every month until 300, which is the cap.

So basically you get to live at home and pay rent but your rent goes up till it's a regular rent amount?

Nov 6 2008, 06:49 PM
lmao...it should keep going up - good method for getting the kids out of the house!

You realize that $300 a month is very cheap... and if you can get away with that you are laughing since I would guess you get your room, food, utilities, and the ability to come and go as you please.

damn, here the lowest (individual) rent you can find is $750... and it doesn't get much better unless you rent a house with another 7 people...
Bravesirrobin
Nov 6 2008, 07:33 PM
yes i know its very cheap. i just got out of high school and looking for a job. so i think ill be crashing here for a while
Just out of interest, why your 360? Surely there'd be something else you'd be happier to part with, especially since the 360 gives much more than you need anyway?

Went from worry about money and selling a console to compulsively buying a game
Wait, what? You never actually sold it after all?

im gonna clarify though, you didnt sell the console, got a job, pay virtually no rent, and now your buying a kickass game?
the title of this thread is misleading!

I think it suits.... He bought fable two... in about 12 hours after beating the game all the side missions and marrying everyone in town.... its pretty freaking boring.
seriously 12 hours will showing you everything you can do in that game.

I'm a bit late on the rent thing but...
You lucked out, man.. I'm in the same situation. Well, I pay 200 bucks rent to my mom, and I don't have a job because I quit my part-time... THEN found out I wasn't going into my little work program for two more months..... And then I spent the last of my money on Fable 2 anyways.... Lucky me, I have a whole month till rent is due again... I better get looking....
Which reminds me, anyone want a used computer?

My stuido in surbiton was £700 (inc council tax). At the time I was renting it the exchange rate varied from 1.8 to 2.1 dollars to the pound, so thats about $1300. For a studio. A tiny studio. With no parking. And it was zone 6 which is like as far out of London as you can get while still paying London prices.
Currently the 2 of us pay £300 per month for food. I pay £50/month for a bus pass (would be almost triple if I wanted to take the train). Electricity's not cheap either.
Just... to put things into perspective for you

ouch and i thought that my one bedroom at $850 a month was high

but then i would assume living in london is similar to living in LA or NYC
san diego is the 3rd most expensive city to live in in california
id be paying like 2000+ for the same size place in LA or san francisco
