Those would be known as "alt blacks". Alternate. They're a different skin than the normal... but it doesn't occur that often and only from breeding, to boot.

Ironically, mine is also inbred...

As of my post, every one of those has at least four days to go before hatching/maturing. They're fine.
You don't want a shitload of clicks and views in a short period of time anyway. It'll give them soft shell, make them sick and possibly kill them.

Well, I don't usually do things like this, but I decided to see what it was all about. Instead of finding my own dragons, I've made a hobby of taking in eggs that others abandon, hatching them, and releasing them into the wild.

Here are the most recent four that I'm trying to keep alive:

And now I have two splits, thanks to a lucky click...

I really hope I've got a male and a female egg, that way I won't need to get any more splits...

For some reason I can't get enough of the Dark Greenies...I just love the idea of a plant-dragon, I guess!

my eggs are slowly building. no softies for 3 days!

i built my breeding spreadsheet witch is giving me the idea to start a breeding thread/network to try to build it up. if you want in, say AYE.

I'll contribute to that, Silky. I've been keeping a log of all my breeding attempts when the mother and father are of different breeds. In elaboration, once I found another black to pair with 'Rayan, I stopped keeping a log on him because I only bred him with Caustic after that. On the same track, once I got a male vine to pair with Chamilia, I stopped recording their children. If I pair a winter with a pink, I'll write down the results, but if I have a pair of dragons in the same breed I don't write it down because it's rather obvious what comes out of it. XD

well..hopefully for you those things won't get banned at this forum, seeing that a LOT of people, even the mods, are irritated by them.

wouldn't bother me. I have them, but really it's only for something else to waste time doing at work. I can get the required clicks/views from another site. There's a fan-base for them here, so /shrug why not post and talk about them here.

Besides, I change mine out almost as soon as they get to big for the sig. Rarely will the ones I have posted there be breaking sig size. Occasional hatchlings "like the split" will put me over by like 30px but again, if the 30px for 2 days becomes an issue I'll just remove them.

As long as the total amount of image size doesn't excede the 600x125 limit we're fine with them. Euology, you're currently exceding a bit but reorganizing your images could set you within the acceptable limits.

That's true, but I've only had that happen once before and I kept it, which I plan to continue doing unless I need to trade it for something particularly important. In any case, if need be I can track the pair's children and even the dates by following those links. I've no aversions to a little clicking research. It's actually entertaining, as it's something to do that isn't just "click, click, done" as most of my hobbies via computer seem to be. -grins-

Same, on both counts. I think I get maybe 30% of my clicks from here, which means that if this site bans it or the other gets shut down, I'll probably be fine, since I get a little more than I need anyways, most of the time. I even have four or so backup sites. -shrugs- You can never say I'm not protective of something I decide to pursue, anyways, even if it's just a little hobby like this one. But yeah. I change mine out as soon as I notice they've matured. Which can be six hours late, if I go to sleep, but hey. xD

Forum says the site's having network problems and TJ09's waiting on some news from his ISP.

He's giving eggs and hatchlings extra time to hatch and mature, and he's disabled cave drops for the time being. You can only get eggs through breeding or the abandoned page.

On the upside, you don't really have to worry about your eggs or hatchlings dying. TJ09 keeps adding more time to them because of the network issues.

Also, in case no one else has noticed, because so many people have them in their signature and they usually won't load, it's causing problems loading topics (depending on your browser and settings, I think). Might be a good idea to remove them completely for now.
