New baby!

EDIT: I accidentally picked up another purple egg, and I will be abandoning it at around 6:23 or earlier. I will not kill it, because that would weigh on my mind like no other. By releasing it back into the cave, I am putting it there for someone who needs a purple dragon.

I know, but still. I'd feel better knowing that someone could adopt it and raise it to adulthood. Besides, some have purposes for such dragons besides just having another on their scroll. I dunno, it just feels right, y'know?

EDIT: Should I breed any of my adults yet? And how can I tell if my vine (or any hatchling, for that matter) is an alt?

And that would be....probably nobody. There are so many purples, pinks and mints it's ridiculous.

They seem to do better if you don't show them to anyone else the first day you have them. I'll post them immediately here because they won't get that many views in just one topic, but I wait until they have less than six days to hatch, sometimes five, before putting them in my signature.

I don't know if any mentioned this, but your dragon cave dragons can grow without any clicks. What's important are the views and unique views ratio. I think its like 15 views to every 1 unique view. Also a good idea if you post on high traffic sites is to wait a day after you get a new egg, the first day you can kill it from so many looking at it.

If you scroll through my dragons, you will see Pink Ladies who is adult and has no clicks, others have as few as 2 clicks. The clicks help speed its growth like vitamins. Careful about getting to many clicks, they are not needed and watch your views and unique views. Hope this helps.

They died because he doesn't have enough posts for enough people to see and click them. They ran out of time.

Alt dragons are alternate forms of the dragon. A different picture.

I believe only blacks and vines have them, could be wrong on that.

Alt dragons are the rarer of a type of a certain dragon. Right now Black and Vines are the only true alts. The hot pink dragons may now become alts since the new pink dragons came out.

The only dragons I don't have are the zombie, vampire, Christmas 07, and few of the other colors of the stripe dragons.

PS: Also not really supposed to say what dragon is what, DragonCaves' Maker TJ09 wants others to figure out for themselves what kinds of dragons there are and what the egg they came from, but like I said easy to figure them out. The alt vine egg used to be slightly darker than normal vine and the alt black used to have a slight blueish tint and darker. Now both alt vine and black are same color as normal vine and black, so you will have to wait till the eggs hatch to see if its an alt.

The black alts are easy to tell apart (there are two black alt hatchlings, both grow up into the same alt adult). The hatchlings look very different from the regular black hatchling.

The vine alts are harder to tell apart. As far as I can tell, there's only a very slight difference in color between the two, so slight that I can't tell unless they're side by side. If I'm just looking at a single vine hatchling, I can't tell. Once they start to mature you can tell; the flower colors are yellow on the alt and red on the regular.

I been pairing up my golds and will breed them at some point to give out eggs. Gold eggs are hard to get since the golds don't always lay them even if you get successful breeding. You can't breed Gold /Gold or Silver/ silver to try and get gold only eggs or silver only eggs.. When I'm ready to put my breedings up I'll post them, only requirement is you can't have dead dragons or eggs on your scrolls or already have a gold if you want a gold, or a silver if you want a silver. Alts any kind though I'll not breed for. I can spot alt vines, they are a little darker than the normal ones. The eyes are also a more dark yellow orange while the normal has a bright yellow eye.

The only reason you should hide eggs is if you have soft shell or your babies are sick. Hiding them for a day two will usually clear it up, Hiding them for trading so they don't grow up before you can make the trade and also hiding them if you are away for a couple days and they are on a very high traffic site that can kill them. If you hide a baby or egg they get no views or clicks, so only hide if you need too.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the color. It's helpful to know about the color of the flowers, though, as I didn't know that before (I thought you had to wait until a vine grew into an adult to tell whether it was an alt).

Eh, sure, why not?

The two-headed hatchling should grow up without any more help. Once they've started to mature - growing wings, more vines, whatever - you can usually just let them be.
I've become fairly proficient at knowing when they have enough to mature, and I take them out of my sig now and then so I don't get them sick by trying to grow them too fast.
No matter how many clicks and views they have, they won't hatch until they have 3 1/2 days or less left. You have a full week for them to hatch, and you have to use at least half that week. Same with growing up.
