hllibsaf
hehehe like my new fave word?

anyway i joined up yesterday after reading the day before and i am confused at what the title for the comic means.
Is it becuase someone is looking for a guy named group?
Is it becuase someone is looking for a group of people? If so it should be A group or THE group. can someone tell me?
Bravesirrobin
its a WoW reference. (i think, i only just got here yesterday)
Rip Van Ishmael
More or less.

Peoples in WoW, seeking other players to join up with them in their quests and conquests, proclaim, '[insert class here] Looking for group!' That way, peoples looking for theives or whatever to join them request they join up with them to go kill dragons or giant rats or whatever it is what peoples in WoW fight.

It's an MMO reference, mostly taken from WoW since, as much as people like to deny it, what LFG was originally based off of, before SohLar decided it was destined for much bigger genres.

Funny, usually threads titled like this are asking about why Richard is called Richard...
Bravesirrobin
why's richard called richard then? lol
Tirri
Richard is called Richard because it's funny.... And he's cool...
Kerrah
Richard's called Richard because it's among the most badass names out there.

Right after El Cid.
Bravesirrobin
What about Tim?

Tim the Enchanter?
Rip Van Ishmael
For the Richard thing, I think it might have something to do with one of the main characters in the SoT series that Sohmer likes being named Richard.

Also, its innocuous enough to be funny.

Yeah, giant rats just about cover it (particularly if you start off as a human). And yeah, LFG is a WoW reference (I've used it many times myself, although sometimes groups suck).

Bah, humbug.
Bravesirrobin
or cinnamon or something.

True that I first linked to this from WoWWikki, and this is my main character's name in the game. I haven't played other MMO's to see if the same terminology exists (I know that things like DKP -- Dragon Kill Points -- and other terms are not one-game specific).

You see all sorts of references to D&D, fantasy novels, Transformers, Star Wars, what have you... It's a mix, with SohLar's own storytelling, and WoW was just lucky enough to inspire the title and some of the characters (the Bloodrage being the most obvious).

"Bah weep granah weep ninni bong" was originally the universal greeting in the 1986 animated transformers movie.

And the topic is straying off course. I do believe the question has been answered and subsequently this is closed.
