Thought Id try making one of these. xD

Edit:
Oh wow, Ive actually managed to make the first one this time. o-o

Things are about to get very messy. Yay!
Shame though, I was just starting to get used to the map of the [acronym="Plane of Suck"]PoS[/acronym].

I love it how Cale is going to fire Richard with that box laugh.gif
Devin Austra
Wow.

Benny looks angry.
And a little upset.
Must hate this Sayl person.

And I'd like to know why Cale was bitching about toting Richard around in the desert if he's so light that he can hold him up and shoot him from his bow.

Dammit, you just beated me to making the thread sad.gif

best. ammo. ever.

... i want a quiver of Richards on Elder Scrolls. >:
Archdoom
Mmm... Good point. Maybe he started the diet after that?
Also, isn't it subtlety, not subtleness?

Although spellcheck is saying they're both right. Then again, spellcheck says "spellcheck" is an error.
Rip Van Ishmael
Benny angry. You won't like her when she's angry.

It's funnier because she's green.

Anywho. Why would they worry about getting all the arrows out of Richard? He's fought riddled with arrows before. Great setup however...and as usual, Pella talking to hear the sound of her own voice.

I almost miss when she just stood around and grinned at the air in front of her.
Chuint
I had a feeling Richard was extremely light, I mean, the did fly him like a kite. xD
Ill bet he has hallow bones.

Cale's bitchiness in the desert was probably just because he was thirsty and didnt feel like carrying...oh, i dunno....50 lbs. of warlock, give or take a few.

Next page will be on the 18th, my birthday, and it shall be a battle with projectile warlocks!
It shall be my best!
Devin Austra
He's probably just kinda dried up, Chuint.

I don't trust spellcheck.
Heard once of someone making pamphlets on breast feeding to pass out at a Lamaze class or something......they said "Beast feeding for beginners."

Back OT:
How many times have we seen the "OK, time for some destruction. Throw in the warlock!" gag now?

Might have something to do with the humiliation?

Though it is kinda odd that he's carried Richard around before, yet it's only now he realises how light he is.

Yeah, but it's in the hard to reach spot. You know how annoying that is?
Agree with you about Pella, though.
Devin Austra
Well, in that page, Cale looked like he was doing some serious labor dragging his carcass around.
Chuint
Maybe Richard's had more time to dry out since then?
Hundreds of years isnt that much time compared to, what, 6 months to a year of traveling. 8D /sarcasm

Or maybe Cale's just whiney when he doesn't get to do badass things with Richard, like shooting him at archers with his bow.
He wasnt whining when he was flying the Dick on a Kite.
SilverKnight
Damn, Benny.

To quote Lonestar, "You're really ugly when you're angry."
Rip Van Ishmael
Dead weight?

Ahah.
Chuint
Just though of something.

Richard could be standing, even if its on his toes, at that moment.
The other times he was a lump. 8D

Edit:
Or you could think of it this way.

You have a huge bag of flour and a piece of wood of equal weights.
The wood should be easier to carry since it's weight isnt shifting like the flour's would.

Richard seems more rigid there than the other times Cale has had to carry him.
Like a piece of wood.
Aeriosa
thats what Richard is good for, though. need things to die? throw the in the warlock, he'll take care of it.

also, about Cale bitching about carrying Richard: carrying anything through the desert could probably be annoying. its hot.

to me, Benny's being pissed seemed partially out of sadness. unless im mistaken, there are tears in her eyes. perhaps Sayl is a lover that Rojave killed, or maybe even...

her father?

or, ya know, some other family member.

Rip Van Ishmael
So, mayhaps this Sayl individual is a relative? Biological parent maybe?

That's the vibe I get from someone saying, 'This person would be disappointed if they saw you like this' anyway.

Damnit, I knew I should have put that out there sooner.

True.
The physics don't matter anyway. It's funny. That's what matters. wink.gif
Chuint
Id say Sayl would be her mother, seeing as how Rojave seems to keep women with him when not in any battles.
nothingbroken
Wow, I don't think we've ever seen Benny THAT pissed. ohmy.gif

I'm guessing that this Sayl person was someone Benny actually wanted to marry. Or at the very least, someone she loved, yes? She's so upset just hearing his name!

This is a very interesting plot twist. I'm looking forward to more details! laugh.gif

I didn't consider it until now, but it definitely could be that Sayl is someone she cared for and is now dead.

Or her.

Sooo, dead-dead or Richard-dead?

Aha, I knew some one would see that in my post!! xD

It was not intentional.....

Really and truly. *shiftyeyes*

At least it wasnt at first.
Devin Austra
Well, we haven't seen any other undead yet, so I'm going with the "so dead he or she's feeding the worms" kind of dead.
linxafidel
my veiw on the cale's bitching thing. you have to also remember he's done a LOT more physical exercise since the desert scene. so its a mix of the fact Richard is awake and the fact cale is most likely stronger.

or it could be simply because he seems to like to complain.
Aeriosa
hmmm... but it Richard is light enough to be properly shot on an arrow, youd think Cale wouldnt have had much of a problem carrying him.

though, when they had just gotten off the ship Cale didnt seem to be having too much trouble. it was probably just the whole walking-through-a-sweltering-desert thing that was giving Cale a hard time.
Rip Van Ishmael
It's not like Richard has body heat to make it more uncomfortable or anything.
Chuint
But he wears black, back tends to get hotter than most colors.
What with absorbing heat or whatever it is that it does.
White reflects it, blahblahsciencecrapblah.

And with that, I must get my remaining five or so hours of sleep before I wake for my daily torture in the morning. ><
Makes me wish I could fwoom something. ):<
iloverichard
Richard? Making a clean slaughter?

Pssshh, that's almost as stupid as Cale being a guy.

erm..
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Wow... I loved the second panel here. Benny, on the verge of tears? I can't wait to find out who this Sayl fellow is. Perhaps a former lover killed in combat? That kind of reaction would leave me to believe Rojave had a hand it, in that case.

And Richard doesn't seem like the Atkin's diet kind of undead. Although it does include a lot of meat.
Dictaternutz
Am I the only person hoping the this Sayl person is the Adam to Rojave's Jamie? lol

Anyway, Cale seem's much less angrier than he did from the last comic, and I thought that Richard was farther away from them than that.

Now to wait till Thursday to see the epic shooting of the Bow and Dick laugh.gif
Lord of the dance
I suspect Sayl is her son. Possibly deceased, or worse.

There must be a line in the last frame about using big weapons to compensate for your dick not being good enough.

... dick launcher?

Continuity failure? Rule of Funny taking precedence?

How can you shoot anyone hanging from an arrow notched to your bow? Physics does not work that way... wacko.gif
Alright, it was still funny.

or, ya know, some other family member.

When I saw her tears, the first thing that flashed through my mind was that this Sayl person may have been Benny's son or daughter. An innocent child for which Benny wanted to give up her outcast mercenary life and build a better world. Her child, which died... or was killed (in a Legion raid?). This led to Benny becoming cynical and wanting to leave Rojave and the city. Perhaps she's even blaming Rojave for Sayl's death. Therefore, Rojave mentioning Sayl in an attempt to emotionally manipulate Benny into giving up was a mean move. Low, Rojave, really low.

Don't ask me why I think this... intuition? I will believe Sayl was Benny's child until we hear otherwise.

erm..

He could just fwoom all the archers, gather up the ashes, and use them in a creative way.
But then,it won't be fun,so I doubt Richard'll do that.

*crosses fingers for epic slaughterings next page.Probably done by Richard*
Gabbriel
Damn i hope richard would turn archers to skeletons and raid that city blink.gif
Kurgan
I really like Benny's expression in panel 2. She's upset, she's ready to kill someone, but she's also crying. She's strong but somehow broken inside.

I would really like to help her slaughter everyone, then hug her.

Do I need to join a fan club?
Schnoodledorfer
I think that whoever Sayl is, Benny is probably conflicted. It's very emotional and she doesn't seem to have been able to resolve her emotions. Maybe a loved parent that abandoned her? The only thing is that she was apparently abandoned as an infant and so probably wouldn't know her parents. An offspring that she abandoned?

Why are so many people assuming that Sayl is male, though? I don't see anything that says one way or another.

Another thing is I'm wondering if we aren't all kind of shipping. Me, too. We want to believe that she wasn't always so tough. Sayl could be someone that only hurt her and bringing him/her up is bringing back bad memories of that. I would like to believe that it was someone she loved, though.

Like a piece of wood.

So if Richard is standing on his toes, he'll run really fast when Cale shoots him? I'm imagining something like a Roadrunner cartoon.

I think Richard was pretty secure once Cale had Richard strapped on his back. Also, I think the matter may have been more one of embarassment or perhaps the squickyness of having that close of contact with a dead body. Cale might be forgetting exactly why it was so unpleasant.

Of course, the whole thing is ridiculous. Arrows break very easily. For them to go straight you can't have something on the front that would block the air from flowing over the feathers. Also, once again, Richard is looking as if he couldn't take care of himself.

I almost miss when she just stood around and grinned at the air in front of her.

Maybe she's giddy because she and Cale are supposed to clear a path to Rojave after Richard disposes of the archers and leaves nothing to clear a path through. huh.gif She seems happy at the thought of doing it, though. rolleyes.gif
Kevin
Loving Cale's solution to the arrow problem. I wonder what Benny promised would happen? Guess we're gonna find out!
Monterat
I'm wondering how Rojave and Benny got so far apart between panels 1 and 3.

Perhaps Rojave was taken aback by Benny's rather feral response to his Sayl comment and thougt it prudent to hide behind his henchmen.

As for Sayl him/herself, I am going to reserve judgement because I honestly have no clue.

For some reason I forsee Richard being fired into combat only to be pinned to a wall facing the wrong way.
Chibi Death
Sayl remains a mystery yet to be solved, until later.

I do have to admit, Cale's solution was quite ingenious. I have a feeling Richard will be both a flying fool, and a deadly one at the moment he is let loose.

And Pella's expression is priceless. At least we know, she quite enjoys his antics. Maybe...she began to understand him more after their brief....uh...moment of sharing a body.
DragonFlame87110
I just want to say that Benny is awesome.... I know that's not the most intelligent of responses right now, but I'm on my way to class and just wanted to make a small contribution.
Lord of the dance
Interestingly it seems to be mostly the thirtysomethings among us who are getting that vibe from Benny, which makes sense really. That look strongly resembles the look of a mother fighting* for her endangered/injured* child. When you see that, you are either there to help her now and comfort her later, or you are going to get out of her way.**

It's very reminiscent of a tigress standing over her wounded cub. Being her enemy at this stage is incredibly dangerous.

*possibly figuratively
**you may be unaware of this fact until you find yourself no longer in her way and possibly in a lot of pain.
ryannayr417
I immediately thought dead child, possibly Rojave's(i pronounce it row-hah-vey, is this wrong?) which would hurt so much more if the father of her child could flippantly use his/her name like that.
Carebear
Ahem, Like normally, Richard breaks all laws of physics...Nothing new.
Lord of the dance
I don't think Richard is going to be shot from the bow. I think the plan is that since he can't pull the arrow out Cale will shoot it the rest of the way through him.

As for him weighing less than before, more likely in fact Cale has stopped being such a pansy and actually done something that counts as exercise since last time.
