The only things I noticed are that Richards eyes should be yellow and I had trouble figuring out what the shoes were. Lar always showed the sole -- maybe that would help (See

Didn't you basically answer your own question? He is horrible in funny ways. Look at old (before 1960) Tom and Jerry cartoons for another example of extremely violent humor. The way Tom and Jerry treat each other is horrible and funny at the same time. This is nothing new.
EDIT: Someone else answered while I was writing.
Well I know this isnt new, I just find it interesting that people can find such horrible things funny (and Im not excluding myself

). And I think Tom and Jerry isnt quite the same thing, since you always know that no matter what happens to them, in the next scene its like it never happened. Here we're laughing at people actually getting killed or hurt, even if its only in a comic.

Ummm... I swear I have seen the same character model a couple of times of random civilians. Also, I can see your reasoning, but I must say that I think it is rather awkward because we see them die just like we've seen cartoon characters die. Are we ultimately going to see Richard take over the world? Probably not. Unless of course it is like the end of the series...
So I mean it is awkward to laugh at other "peoples" expense, but at the same time there are people that do that about people in real life and weirder...
Also, war is a problem people don't seem to incorporate into these things...
also the fact that we are seeing actual people dying kind of makes me giggle... We are seeing fictional 2D images die that have no impact on our lives...

Ah. The secret is that I haven't actually got any talent at drawing, hehe.
The picture of Richard was taken from one of the shirts, namely this one:
Little Richard Goes FwooshHowever, that's obviously somewhat different from what I've got in the sig - The effects, background, and so on are my additions done in Photoshop.
Edit:
How's this for V2?

I don't want to get into a long discussion about it because it's off the subject, but humor is how we deal with life's problems without going crazy. There really is death in the world. It's scary. Not only will we die eventually, but our friends and family members will die, too. So we find ways to laugh about it the same way we find ways to laugh about other things.
To put Richard into context: The rescuers at the World Trade Center were cracking jokes about the people falling past the windows. They need to do stuff like that to keep functioning and avoid cracking up on the job. Another example:
The Darwin Awards website.
So it's OK to enjoy laughing at what Richard does. What's not OK is to laugh at a real person's misfortune in a cruel or careless way.

I've gone and done it again...
Because I've have a bad eyesight week, I can't draw like I normally do to vent my Richard-inspiration, thus I have been forced to use other mediums. I broke out the super Sculpey and there's a 6-8 inch figurine in the making. Technically, it's a commission, so I won't get to keep it...
Why am I telling you this? I've no idea. Would it be illegal to sell a Richard sculpture to someone else? It's technically my artistic ingenuity I'm selling...curses!
Well, pictures will be added to the fanart section soon. In the meantime...
I think I agree with the dark humour bit...if we can't laugh at the morbidity of death, then death is just something to be feared and dreaded. Death in reality is less scary when you find it funny. Everyone knows there's a part of us that goes 'Well, that sucks for that guy...'. But we're not made of stone. Yeah, Richard slaughters innocents, and is evil, and it's all a very, very terrible thing...if you take it seriously. We don't, of course. It's a comic...
Now I'm off to pound some clay into submission. DEATH TO CLAY!!

On the topic of dreams, I had a dream this morning about Richard...
He was shopping for birthday presents (for Benny, I guess) with Krunch at a small supermarket.
They left with a box, some red paint, and a balloon with a smiley face on it. Richard messed up painting on the box, but Krunch fixed it.
And somewhere in there, while saving two islands of blue elves from a flood by turning their children into stones, there was an epic scene of Cale and Richard riding an elevator. They weren't doing anything, but looked rather pissed and Richard broke a pencil he was carrying for whatever reason by clenching his fist.
That is, before Richard was frightened off by a tree frog with a yellow stomach.
Then came the swarms of them, sent by some evil spider-chick and all fallowing a nervous Richard.......
I don't see why I cant just have simple dreams where he's just eating dinner or something, like everybody else. >_>

Damn! I had no idea that a pile of ashes could type! Even if it got reanimated somehow, I don't know how it could do it. I mean, even a relatively intact zombie isn't very coordinated so they would certainly have trouble typing. (Seriously, there are plenty of other posts that look a lot more like they were typed by zombies than that one.

)
I'm not so sure that was just a dream that she had dinner with Richard, though. I could imagine the remains of iloverichard feasting on the brains of orphans with Richard, or something like that.

Then again, she could have been restored by Benny, I suppose. Still, I'd be careful. That talk about having a life outside of LFG is just freaky.
@iloverichard: Thanks for being a good sport about this and for clarifying that you're not trying to keep people out. The "if we okay it" in the first post kind of sounded like that might have been the case.

Why do think it was that simple? Sometimes orphans can be tough to catch. And it's not as if Richard can just fwoom them -- he likes his meat rare, not well done.

Interesting anecdote....
So I finally went back to work today, after an extended leave....there were a bunch of people doing inventory (I work at Home Depot), and it was really slow...naturally, I had Richard on the brain, since I'm in the middle of the sculpture...
So one of the inventory guys comes along (I didn't know who he was, so I said nothing)....and stops at one of the shelves, looks over at me and says, "Hi. I'm Richard."
I don't know why he said 'hi'. Maybe he was hitting on me...anyways...
....he must think I'm really weird, because I made this odd strangling sound trying not to laugh...three minutes later, a page comes over the store..."Richard, to the cutting desk for customer assistance. Richard, to the cutting desk."
It's not even called a cutting desk. Newbie on the paging system...but man...I think I've had a weird night.

RichardtheLich lover
Nov 17 2008, 04:43 PM
No, Richard is:
Maniacal + Bloodthirsty + homicidal + pathological + funny + awesome + fwoosh + fangirl support + Sohmer + DeSouza = Richard
That's the equation. I love Richard with the burning intensity of a million suns. I bet if he were to serenade someone, he would sing this:
The stench in the air
The smell of the gore
The carnage far greater than any war
My legacy
Death becomes...me
I'll slaughter the world (for you)
When he sang Slaughter Your World, I said "do I have tear ducts?" His voice actor is just epic. He made me love Richard even more. I definitely have a weird taste in guys, but I don't believe anyone would have me any other way. I will continue to love Richard when I die. And then I'll be able to slaughter the world with him!
